Serious collectors should welcome PO. The only drawback is that it does not exist in the Mac version of E3; only in the Microsoft version. Huss speculates that Apple's iPhoto is too close in functionality for Adobe to economically develop a Mac version.

8-second poet . . .Review Date: 2005-03-09
Some of my favorite Zarzyski poems are included in this collection: "Buck," a Christmas-time lament for a dead horse; "To Wallace," a tribute to rancher-poet Wallace McRae; "Partner," about the fierce and loving bond between two rodeo friends, dedicated to Montana writer, Kim Zupan; "Monte Carlo Express - Box 258, 15.3 Miles Home," about reading mail while driving a speeding car; and the high-spirited "Escorting Granny to the Potluck Rocky Mountain Oyster Feed at Bowman's Corner." The best, of course, is the title poem, "All This Way for the Short Ride," about the death of another rider.
There's an appreciative foreword by Wyoming-born western writer, Teresa Jordan, and 27 wonderful black-and-white rodeo photographs by Montana photographer Barbara Van Cleve, taken between the years 1971-1996. An excellent addition to any bookshelf of Western literature.

DELIGHTFULReview Date: 2008-03-25
however, this story is a romp of laughs in the saga of Letty and Eulis. A stand
alone story although part of a triology it is best read in bed so you have room
to laugh and kick up your heels. I highly recommend this book and the other two
readalongs. As long as Sharon does this I will be first in line to buy.

Great Book - Worth Your Time and $$$Review Date: 2006-08-06
Lettie and Eulis are not the quintessential heroine and hero...at the beginning of the story. However, by the end of the story they are truly hero and heroine material.
Lettie is a reformed good-time-girl. Eulis is a reformed alcoholic. They are fraudulently presenting themselves as a nun and a priest. It may sound sacrilegious, but it is truly not. They have turned their lives around and are attempting to do good, bless the lives of the people around them, and make restitution for their sins.
The people they meet along to way to Colorado are wonderful. The blessings that Lettie and Eulis bring to the lives of the people they spend time with, and vice versa are priceless.
I laughed out loud as I read this story!
Please, read it - you won't be disappointed!

Anguilla "wish books"Review Date: 2007-01-09
The writing is folksy and the photography is good. The only criticism I would give it is that it is a bit short and doesn't try to be encyclopedic in covering all parts of the island. Nevertheless, a great start that is now gracing one of our tables for leisurely reading

Anguilla: A Shorter Sleeved Way of Life
By T.H. Patten, Photography by Jodi A Rumble
A Review by Rita Celestine Carty
The intriguing book blurbs on the back instantly alert the reader to the possibility that this book has captured the way everybody, including and perhaps particularly Anguillians, likes to think about Anguilla. The book itself smells all sandy and sunny and warm. The sense-tingling images help too!
Anguilla: A Shorter Sleeved Way of Life is first read by slowly turning over the `substantial' pages and gazing for ages at the colours and textures of the photographs and letting the varied feelings sink in and through.
After this first `experience' (that may take a while) the eyes turn to the text. The first reaction is a chuckle and anticipation of being and staying in good company as Patten's developed sense of humour deals a light-hearted but lasting slap right from the acknowledgements page.
The humour soon becomes attached to an evident sensitivity to variations in the human condition and a willingness to adjust accordingly and in this particular case to adopt practices and expectations in order to attain the optimal comfort level of life on Anguilla. Humour and sensitivity soon join hands with objectivity and sincerity as statements about the island seem delivered with genuine appreciation in all senses of the word.
First-time visitors may find this book invaluable as it demystifies the bizarre. It is helpful in the sense that many of the mind-twisting phenomena are explained without their having to figure it out for themselves. For locals and residents who have `adjusted', it is mind-opening to note the many appreciable differences in mores. It makes us aware of the culture shock some visitors might experience. We may not have noticed, for example that:
While it is impolite not to say "good morning" when you speak to someone, it is not rude to lay-on your car horn as you pass someone you know or don't know or met once [... although], there is some collateral startling of Americans, turning over of drinks, that sort of thing... (p.32)
Although the locals may wear the shorter sleeves, the book is definitely written for those who are seeking a little taste of this way of life. Patten describes his own experience in a very detailed way and as such provides a guide and a companion to the uninitiated. No one, I am sure, would resist being "Columbus of [their] afternoon" (p.39).
Anguilla: A Shorter Sleeved Way of Life is perfect except that on page 56 a sheep is labeled a goat. Another downer is the sense of finality at the end of the book. One starts to get the impression that this was an individual journey rather than an invitation to emulate the adventure. This is a change from the tone of the first part of the book which declares "if you don't already know Anguilla, go there!" This is easy to correct. Simply turn back to the beginning after you reach the end.
Anguilla: A Shorter Sleeved Way of Life is all about sensations - sensory details and emotions, tangible and intangible, conscious and subliminal - all are called into play. This book is the product of the perfect collaboration of a good eye and a gifted pen. You should get yourself one. It's beautiful!

The apple blackberry jam is a crowd pleaser and one I've added to my " make every season list ". Try it, you'll never make plain blackberry jam again. I've purchased at least 10 of these books for gifts also. All Olwen Woodier cookbooks are easy to follow and classics. 5 stars are not enough.
Who Doesn't Like Apples?Review Date: 2007-06-01
There are ten chapters, seven of which feature recipes.
Apple History - Some interesting facts about apples, not really needed, but I always enjoy reading through this kind of thing.
Cooking with Apples - What to buy and how to store.
Apple Breakfasts and Breads - 22 recipes for egg dishes, muffins, and other breads. Recipes include; Apple and Puff Omelette, Apple Cheddar Crepes, and Apple-Banana Bread.
Apple Drinks and Snacks - 12 recipes for different drinks, some with alcohol, and assorted snacks and appetizers. Recipes include; Apple Eggnog, Apple Cheese Spread, and Hot Fruit.
Apple Salads and Sides - 21 recipes for vegetable and fruit sides and salads. Recipes include; Stuffed Apples, Apple and Sweet Potato Puree, and Cornbread Apple Stuffing.
Apples Make the Meal - 20 recipes for soups, beef, pork, chicken, and fish entrees. Recipes include; Zucchini and Apple Soup, Grilled Tuna with Apple Chutney, and Cider-Braised Chicken.
Apple Pies and Cakes - 27 recipes, some of which are for doughs and crusts. Recipes are for the expected apple pies as well as for some more innovative dishes. Recipes include; Apple Cream Cheese Tart, Pumpkin - Apple Pie, and Applesauce Gingerbread.
Apple Desserts - 30 recipes for all desserts that are not pies or cakes. Recipes include; Apple Molasses Cookies, Maple Apple Crisp, and Apple - Cinnamon Souffle.
Preserving the Apple Harvest - Canning and freezing apples tips, as wells as 6 recipes for jams, jellies, and chutneys.
Meet the Apples - Lists and describes all of the different varieties of apples, as well as a helpful chart listing the seasons, and how the certain varieties are at freezing, eating, and used in different dishes. I believe this chapter would of done better at the begining of the book.
Overall, this is a very good, fun cookbook. I'd definatly buy it if you're interested in cooking with fruit, love apples, or just want another cookbook. The only drawback of this book is the lack of having any color photos.
