Do you fantasize about being Indiana Jones, Steve Irwin, or Richard F. or Isabel Burton? Would you love to live a life of romance, creativity and risk, meeting exotic people, exploring new and as yet uncharted lands, stepping outside the box? At the same time, are you held back from this by being too old to join the service, or having limited funds, only a little time, a 9-to-5 job and/or cold feet? Welcome to a new life!

Using only things you might find around the house (my one cavil about the book is that it assumes you're a homeowner, though renters and nomads might find it useful also) you too can join the ranks of the adventurers! Simply by taking tiny risks in your mundaine existence, you too can be living in a theme park, honing explorer and adventure skills, improving your relationships and people sense, getting in touch with your body, and much, much more! Ok, so now I sound like an infomercial. But this book does have a lot of fun things to do that get you up and out and becoming more engaged in your surroundings that could serve as baby steps towards bigger and better things, as well as making everyday life more interesting.

I'd check it out if I were you.

I've read a bunch of self-help books (100's at least) - and while many of them are good, most are focused on techniques, exercises, writing down your values, etc. That's great, but none of them have given me what this book has: the ability to go and play and be happy. And really, that's all I ever wanted out of those other self-help books.

David's book is amazing, because through his ideas, you understand that you can be happy now... in this moment... wherever you are. You can have adventure now. I've spent most of my life creating suffering - either through reliving the past or projecting into the future - and David's book finally turned on the switch. You can't live in the past or the future... you need to live NOW! And in understanding that, you can have so many adventures, so much fun and joy - that you'll finally realize that happiness, adventure, success, joy, etc. isn't in the future, it's NOW!

Best of all, if you get that, David's book holds more than 541 adventures. If you get the concept behind David's book, you'll discover that there are adventures everywhere in your life, regardless of your age, education, financial situation, relationship, etc. David has written an amazing book that I recommend to all of my fellow self-help "junkies" who want to stop doing so many "techniques" and start living a fun, adventurous life!

It's so important for parents to be educated about vaccinations. Unfortnately it's up to us to do our own research - even the best pediatricians aren't always up to date on the latest vaccination research. The more you read and research, the more you realize how important it is to do so and not just blindly follow the recommended schedule - there are so many small things you can do when vaccinating to make sure your kids are safe that I would never have known w/o my research. This book is an easy to read guide that takes you thru each vaccination, the pros & cons and really helps to educate parents. It does lean a bit towards the anti-vaccination opinion however it's still incredibly edcational. I've ordered a number of books and videos so that I can get all sides and would recommend that other parents do the same. I would highly recommend this book!

This book is great because she is both a doctor and holistic. She lists what is in the vaccines and their issues while at the same time explaining all about the dangers of the disease and treatments so the reader can make their own decision.

I got scared about all this vaccination-autism fuss, and this book is very informative about vaccinations, it gives you tips and all the information to make a decision and even investigate more about all this. I feel more prepared and confident when I talk to my pediatrician; we have to take all this very seriously because we are our children's voice.

This book was great for me; it gave me information that I didn't find in other places. However, I can not say that it is impartial; it tries to correct for the widespread misinformation. It might be a good introduction to the material for some but definitely not for all, because of its bias. It can definitely help you choose what is best for your child as an individual, but it can not serve as your only source in making that choice (unless you are sold on not vaccinating at all). It simply doesn't have enough details about the actual ingredients to weigh the risks with the benefits; the author seems to conclude that none of the vaccines are worth the risks. As someone who has chosen to selectively vaccinate my children, I did find the book helpful. The first source I use is Dr. Sears' The Vaccine Book because it has factual information about the ingredients. This book is the second source I use for a little more information on the issue. I don't think this book really lives up to its subtitle "practical medical and natural ways to protect your child." Also, I agree with some other criticisms about her use of language. From an editorial standpoint, this book is not a final copy. It is only a revision or two away, but it is not properly polished. Quite a shame. I am still grateful I have this source.

God, I loved this book! At times fascinating (why is pork eschewed rather than chewed by millions of muslims and jews?), funny (the stuffing of sausage), and evocative (virtually every description of a meal well set), I was enthralled by this most excellent jaunt through the porcine world. Kaminsky pulls off a difficult balance: making us admire and care for the pigs even as we long to eat them as soon as we can apply some of the author's recipes. He makes a valid argument that we must eat them in order to save them, offers a call to arms to take back pork production from the industrial torture chambers that pass as 'agriculture' and return to a more humane and respectful treatment of this remarkable animal.

I am a lover of all pork products. This book presents the history of pigs, ham, and how it has evolved to what we know today. The author has an entertaining style, and his love of ham shines through. I was moved to buy a Kentucky Country Ham, just after I had finished the first third of the book. My knowledge on the history, raising, breeding, and processing of hogs has increased dramatically from this book. An interesting look into the present and future of pigs is given. This brings back memories of Fast Food Nation, and its description of the cattle industry.

Most ham is the U.S. is barely edible. There are exceptional country hams put up in the South, but these are seldom available to the casual shopper. If you do love ham, you just have to try the Pure Bellota Iberian ham from Spain.

Now what this book does is illustrate, educate, and sharpen you taste buds for the incredible delight of eating great ham. There are taste matches made by the Creator: Iberian Pure Bellota ham with an ice-cold glass of Fino Sherry is one of them.

Pat Williams loves to read, and usually has 5 or 6 books going at a time. He passes on his love for reading in this crisp, inspiring book. Williams recommends gathering together a stack of books on subjects that interest you. He encourages you to find a quiet place and a comfortable chair (but not so comfortable where you will fall asleep!), and a good reading lamp.

He talks about the 11 ways reading will transform your life. It will make you an authority on any subject, it will make you a more interesting person to talk with, it will give you wisdom and knowledge to pass on to others, it will keep you mentally sharp (and perhaps ward off Alzheimer's Disease!), and it will take you to places you would otherwise never have the time to visit. You can visit a real place like Hawaii through the James Michener novels, or an imaginary place like Naboo in the Star Wars universe.

Reading will bring you out of the doldrums and inspire you to creative heights.

This book is easy to read, fun to read, and will make you want to read more!

Mickey Edwards review and critique of the modern conservative movement and its Republican party ally excellently reveals the deeply ingrained hypocrisy that controls both the movement and the party. When I finished reading this book, I realized that I am not the raging liberal I've always been labeled to be after all. Rather, I am a TRUE constitutional conservative who merely leans left. His willingness to expose the fact that the emporer has no clothes will, no doubt, vilify him among the party faithful but it makes him a hero and patriot in my book. As he has said many times, he may love his party but he loves his country more. After hearing similar rebukes of the Republican party by Colin Powell when he endorsed Barack Obama, I realized he and Mickey Edwards need to start a new political movement. If that happens, sign me up!

Outstanding. Simply Outstanding.

Review Date: 2008-11-06
One has to regard a "conservative" feted by liberals and liberal publications from one coast to the other with some trepidation, and that it how I approached this book. I got as far into it as I could stomach, which wasn't far.

Why do liberals like this book so much? Because it advocates putting conservatives back in a tiny little box from whence they will forever be in "principled" opposition to liberal policy, which will rule the day. Edwards is a particularly self-abnegating specimen of a conservative. He has taken the liberal media narrative of the Bush administration with its neocons, its shredding of the constitution, its torturing of suspects, its wiretapping, its violation of terrorist's civil rights, and has swallowed it whole, uncritically. It is from that flawed basis that many of his arguments about the Bush Administration are made, and they are, as a result, worthless and painful to read.

The beginning of wisdom for conservatives is questioning those mainstream narratives, looking beyond them, and making up one's own mind about the meaning behind events with one's feet solidly planted in reality. Regardless of Edward's distaste for anything outside of his rarefied, purified idea of conservatism, actually making conservative ideas matter means winning elections, forming coalitions, making compromises, and making the tough choices of governance.

No, Mr. Edwards, we will not go back into that little box of yours. Conservatism has always evolved, naturally following a consensus of principled thinkers of the day. At one point in history monarchist, at the next point Federalist. Calcification of conservative ideas would be death, the conservatism of tomorrow may be something we can't imagine today, and whether it allows for "big government", or expansionist foreign policy, or whatever, it will always be guided by wisdom, intelligence, experience, tradition, and caution.

I totally agree and cannot add more to the reviews already here. The Republican Party up until about 1990 was a party of optimism ("It's Morning in America"), belief in individual freedom, anti-communism, and belief in a strong national defense, and "getting government off our backs".

Today: a party fixated on tradition and "traditional family values", moralizing, forcing one's personal morality on others, being against science and evolution (!!), and being against abortion choice, and homosexuals. In short, a primitive party that is no longer looking forward, but looking back into the past.

The only thing I can do here is directly site the most recent Texas Republican Party platform. The GOP here in Texas has been taken over by fundamentalist Christians, as the author states. Here are some quotes from their platform (I think that this speaks for itself. This is also a reason that I, a lifelong Republican and huge fan of Ronald Reagan, no longer vote Republican in Texas [my comments in brackets]):

"We believe that human life is sacred, created in the image of God [this is a theological belief, not a political statement]. Life begins at the moment of fertilization and ends at the point of natural death. All innocent human life must be protected. [whereas, it is o.k., in Texas, to kill people on death row, even if you are not 100% sure they really did the crime !, and then call this law and order].

We understand that the Ten Commandments are the basis of our basic freedoms and the cornerstone of our Western legal tradition [no, the 10 Commandments were rules for the ancient Jews, not a basis of freedoms]. We therefore oppose any governmental action to restrict, prohibit, or remove public display of the Decalogue or other religious symbols. [thus, completely removing the wall between church and state].

We support the adoption of the Pledge Protection Act. We decry any unconstitutional act of judicial tyranny that would demand removal of the words "One Nation under God" from the Pledge of Allegiance [those words: "One Nation Under God" were put into the pledge in 1954, and were not in it before then]. We also demand that the National Motto "In God We Trust" and National Anthem be protected from legislative and judicial attack.

We support the traditional definition of marriage as a God-ordained, legal and moral commitment only between a natural man and a natural woman [sorry, transvestites !], which is the foundational unit of a healthy society, and we oppose the assault on marriage by judicial activists.

We call upon the Texas Legislature to rescind no- fault divorce laws [i.e. taking away another personal choice from the people, and mandating a narrow personal belief system]. For these reasons we support Covenant Marriage [another narrow convention, forced on others], which has proven effective in stemming the tide of divorce [at what cost in personal liberaty ? Where is the evidence ? Effective in what sense ? Keeping people who dislike each other in a loveless marriage ?]. We recommend the following provisions in line with this concept: 1) pre-marital counseling [is that part of "traditional" marriage ? Who is "assaulting marriage" now ?] and, 2) a pre-nuptial agreement that when problems arise within the marriage, both parties will agree to marriage counseling [read: be forced to] with the intent of restoring the marriage to its proper balance and harmony [read: forcing people to stay together, against their wishes].

We believe that the practice of sodomy [defined as ...?] tears at the fabric of society [proof ?], contributes to the breakdown of the family unit, and leads to the spread of dangerous, communicable diseases. Homosexual behavior is contrary to the fundamental, unchanging truths [which ones ?] that have been ordained by God [Judeo-Christian morality is thus to rule over people who are not even religious], recognized by our country's founders [no, Benjamin Franklin was actually kind of a randy devil, and George Washington didn't go to church, and Jefferson called the Bible non-sensical], and shared by the majority of Texans [so, the majority is to dictate to the minority].

We believe, as do the vast majority of Texans, that pornography is repulsive [defined as ?], addictive [evidence, please] and contributes to deviant criminal behavior [again, evidence is lacking here].

We support the objective teaching and equal treatment of scientific strengths and weaknesses of scientific theories [i.e. we want to throw science out the window whenever it conflicts with our primitive religious views], including Intelligent Design. We believe theories of life origins and environmental theories should be taught as scientific theory not scientific law ["we", being non-scientists]; that social studies and other curriculum should not be based on any one theory [unless of course that "one theory" is ours].

We believe that properly applied capital punishment is legitimate, is an effective deterrent, and should be swift and unencumbered. When applied to the crime of murder, it raises the value of human life. [idiotic statement. Killing people raises the value of life. Plus, everyone knows that Texas's application of the death penalty is anything but "properly applied".

Thanks! I needed this.

I've longed for this book. When my high school friend and I reconnected after more than 50 years, he was astonished that I identified myself as a liberal and I was astounded that he called himself a conservative. How could two people who had so much in common be so different in such essential ways? "But your father was a Republican," he said. "Yes, I agreed, but he was a Goldwater Republican. I'm pretty sure he wouldn't be voting for today's Republicans."

I've been searching since to find answers to the questions this encounter has raised. One friend, for example, said, "I'm a Republican because I'm a social liberal and a fiscal conservative." But it seemed to me that the Republican for whom he was voting had turned that on its head. I really want a personal understanding of what motivates these conservative friends of mine. Frankly, I have no trouble understanding those who think like me. Of course, who does have difficulty with those who agree with them?

And then comes this wonderful book, for which I am more than grateful. There it is, on page 15: "This book is ... a story of how we `conservatives' have moved from Barry Goldwater and the love of freedom to wiretaps, secret prisons, government intrusion into the most intimate private decisions, and the unprecedented assertion of federal authority and a presidency and bureaucracy that places itself above the law. The movement that once championed strict limits on federal power now recognizes virtually no limits at all. This book will be about how that came to be, how conservatism has become the enemy of all it once stood for and about what must be done to take the movement back from those who have stolen it."

Maybe I could be a conservative.

A witty, well-cited, and humorous take on animal rights
Helpful Votes: 0 out of 0 total.
Review Date: 2008-10-31
I read a copy of this from my local library and decided that it's worth having in my permanent library. There are around 8 chapters on various topics, but the author, Karen Dawn, does a great job of breaking each topic into bite-sized pieces that make this an easy read. She intersperses animal-friendly comic strips and celebrity quotes every few pages. I found that instead of making the pace seem choppy, it instead provided an alternative endorsement of her ideas and make the book an easy read.

I'll admit that the one chapter I really had a hard time reading was the one on animal testing. I don't consider that a failure on my part as I skimmed it and got what I needed to get out of it. Because she breaks up each topic into such digestible pieces, it's not only an easy read but something I'm going to have on my library shelf for reference. Her arguments are polite, witty, and well-referenced. She's not militant in her views and her easy-going style make it easy to gravitate towards her side of things. In the interest of full disclosure, I was a vegetarian/near-vegan when I read this book, but there are chapters on household pets and animals in the entertainment industry that got me thinking enough to potentially change my future behavior.

I could see how someone would dismiss this type of book as nutty stuff, but really, it's not. It's merely stating various talking (or thinking) points with the goal of getting you to think differently about things that you normally don't think about. She has a huge bibliography in the back so she did her research. The book is short on the really gorey photographs that one might find in a pro-animal book such as this, and I appreciated that. She spends the last chapter talking about how to effectively get people thinking about animal rights via peaceful and non-annoying methods, which is a great way to exit the book as you then feel as if you can help make a difference all by yourself.

I would highly recommend this book to anyone looking into animal rights issues. It keeps the attention and is an easy read. I think some of the writing is a little on the juvenile side, with the Britney Spears/Paris Hilton and pop culture references, but it really gets the point across without going into the graphic detail of the shock doctrine of the PETA folk. It does offer however links to the websites that show the videos if that is your thing. Animal abuse, be it vivisection, breeders, puppy mills, factory farming, the fur trade, the hoax of "free range" farming is all covered and then some. This book is written with emotion and dedication. Some sections may make you cry, some might make you sick to your stomach or make you want to take action. If you always wanted to learn about animals rights this is your starter place. You can move on up to other more "adult" reading from here. It is the MTV version of Animal Liberation. I do really think this book should be read by as many people as possible that are concerned about what they put in their mouths or wear on their feet or backs. Go veg!!!

It's as described, a wonderfully educational book about animal rights without the radical, in your face approach. It's as light hearted as you can get, considering the subject matter. The cartoons and references really drive home the point behind the title. Gives you quick answers and come backs to some really silly comments people make when they realize you're an "animal softie." I highly recommend it!!

This is a engrossing book about what happens when a person who has made a career out of understanding "transitions" (and helping other people and organizations through times of transition) comes face to face with a gigantic transition. As Bridges dealt with the death of his wife and the concomitant end of a lengthy marriage, he found himself wondering if he really understood transitions at all. This book is the story of how he navigated that period in his life, how he achieved a new understanding of everything that had gone before, and what it has meant to him since.

There is a lot going on in this book. On one level, it is the story of a marriage. On another level, it is the story of how truly immersing oneself in the transitions one encounters can deepen a person's relationship both to the self and to the personal history that has created that self. And then there is the general philosophical musing about how a person can open himself to the possibilities that come with major life changes. It's not a book of ideas about what to do (for that, the same author has a couple of other books on transition), but instead it's a deeply personal reflection on the meaning of life and life's transitions.

Highly recommended for anyone who is of a contemplative turn of mind.

William Bridges revisits the topic of transitions after the death of his first wife. This is an emotionally powerful book and Bridges is brutally honest and open about his own personality and relationships. I give it 4 stars, though, because I'm not sure that he adds a whole lot to his orginal work on transitions.

Adjusting to change

The author is very professional in his knowledge of tranistion vs. change and the merging of the process so that one understands the need to understand transition and that understanding to facilitate change. It is a very personal account of his understanding of the value of "letting go". His wife of 48 years is about to pass and the culmination of their realtionship and acceptance of the change to come and the phases of tranistion. To me personally, the acceptance of "letting go" allowed me to move further into my life and relish the anticipation of what could be. But not until I "let go". To me that was an exceptional development. And it all had to do with understanding transition. I am deeply grateful as is my wife who is reading it now.

I often list the pros and cons of the books I review. This book, like most others, has a few drawbacks, but they are not important enough to list. What is important is to know that this book is one of the best guides possible for those who are going through losses and do not know where to turn. If you or someone you know is reeling from a major life set back this is the book you need to turn to. This book will help you process the loss, understand the empty feeling that follows, and will offer hope for a new beginning. This book is a first aid kit for the emotions.

William Bridges surprised me with this extremely well-written and personal book. I am an executive coach who had read many of his other books and have often recommended Bridge's Managing Transitions to clients and friends in the business world. I opened the book expecting to find a how-to manual on getting through midlife in business,or through the loss of a job or some other similarly difficult but containable business transition. What I found was a deeply personal (and to me intensely meaningful description of) William's own life transitions through his job changes, marriage difficulties, and most significantly the death of his first wife and the transition that ensued. This beautifully written book reads more like a novel than a self help book, but the fact that it describes real transitions at a very deep level is exactly what makes it helpful. I congratulate the author for having the guts to write it.

I bought this book at a dollar store and it was worth every penny. Oh well, now that you've suffered through my lame attempt at humor move on to Bob Smith's genuinely funny and frequently moving collection of memories of childhood and busted romances. I usually avoid humor books of this sort (the authors usually concoct nothing out of nothing) but Smith has a engaging style of writing and vivid insights that can really take you back to your childhood, especially if you are in the same age range as him. The funniest are his memories of his fourth grade teacher, Mr. McGaffin. "I quickly realized one of the benefits of having a male teacher was that I could look at Mr. McGaffin as much I wanted while he taught...I studied Mr. McGaffin as if I was going to be tested on the geography of his face." Later that year, Smith discovers his semi-conscious crush has a "friend" Jeffrey and is curious about their relationship but too shy to pry, fortunately for him he is around when "Debbie Gruber...a loudmouthed girl and every thought that came into her head fell from her mouth like a letter through a mail slot" bluntly asked "Mr. McGuffin, do you live with Jeffrey?" Later, Smith learns the men live nearby his home and rides by their own their bike and spots Mr. McGuffin mowing the lawn. "I regretted I hadn't asked the inquisitive Debbie Gruber to tag along. She would have demanded, 'Can we see the inside of your house?'"

This book is so funny I might save up a dollar and buy his other one.

Middle of the Road

I had high hopes for this book. It started off really well. The stories of Bob's break-up from Tom was actually interesting to read, and was a story I could follow and invest in. I was hoping for a happy ending at the end--perhaps taking this sad event and finding the humor and of course life lessons in it.

Halfway through the book, Bob resorts to childhood memories. It almost seemed as though he was writing two different books, one of memories and the other of his current life. I felt somewhat lost at times. The stories were entertaining, but didn't seem to make sense being plopped down in the middle of the rest of the current day situations. He ends the chapter with "Mom, I have a date." What a great line! It allows the reader to find out with who?? Is he moving on? Is he the man of his dreams? We never get to find out.

Instead, he moves quickly into his childhood, relating stories that are amusing in their own right but highly out of place. It almost makes me wish that the author would take a chance and finish that third book, finish the second book, and rerelease them.

He then skips back to current day with his misadventures of dates...which sort of leaves me wondering what was going on with the childhood chapters in the middle of the story. They didn't seem to go with the rest of the text.

It was enjoyable...but it left me wanting more.

I picked this book up at a booksale and really enjoyed it. Bob Smith is a very funny guy that talks about his failed relationship of 10 yrs, his relationship with his family and how he's beginning to date again and getting on with his life. I think his feelings on a relationship ending, on his mother, etc, are very universal and not limited to gay people. I think gay and straight alike can enjoy this very funny book. Find a copy and try not to crack a smile!

Loved it!

What makes a good author, in my opinion, is his or her ability to capture the human condition in such a way that it comes across as real.

What makes a good comedian, again in my opinion, is to take slices of ordinary life and see the humor in them. Mr. Smith is clearly capable in both areas. While he's not the only person (let alone gay one) to see a relationship end, his ability to harness all of the involved elements (the concerned family, division of the utensils, joint custody of mutual friends and the eventual return to the single's scene) and make them both funny and touching.

It may not be as funny if you can't "relate" .. but for anyone who has ever addressed and gotten through a painful situation through humor, this book is a treat.

Keep 'em coming, Bob...

I love this book. Actually, I love all three of his books. This book is a must read for anyone who has recently broken up with a boyfriend and needs a chuckle and a little hope. I love everything Bob writes. I subscribe to 'Out' magazine just to see what he writes next. I'm ready for the next book. Keep 'em coming, Bob.

Money- there just never seems to be enough of it.

Weekend Entrepreneur: 101 Great Ways to Earn Extra Cash is an idea book on how to earn a little extra cash in your spare time. The book is essentially a listing of 101 work at home businesses that anyone can do without special training and without a lot of expensive start up equipment. Most of these projects could easily grow into full fledge businesses given the right amount of motivation and commitment by the entrepreneur. Each potential suggestion includes the story of a real life business person who used that particular idea to earn a little extra money or to start their own successful business.

Once the reader has chosen a project that not only interests them but suits their particular needs and lifestyle, then he or she can also use this book as a reference. Part III of this book focuses on "success strategies". This information includes useful hints about licensing, patent, trademarks, and marketing your service or product.

This is a great book, just full of business ideas that you can start without sinking your savings and way too much time into. Don't quit your job, spend a ton of money and then find out you hate it--ease into business ownership by starting a weekend business first.

There are tons of ideas to explore and they are well organized according to what kind of "work" you need to do in order to run them--businesses you use your own labor for, online businesses, businesses where you make and sell products or services, and a great section on information sales businesses.

You'll also find tons of tips on running your business successfully, too--although you will need to educate yourself beyond this book as to business administration. But, this book will get you started and that is often the hardest part.

Anton and Sander also include a great appendix with business resources.

Great ideas and Resources!

Good book, but the ideas for work are not totally new and groundbreaking. All the things you have probably already thought of... There are good ideas on HOW to make the ideas happen, though, and that is the best part.

Helpful first step for aspiring part-time entrepreneurs

This book lives up to its title. It's a nice introduction to the topic of part-time (weekend) and home-based entrepreneurship, and should be a very helpful guide to anyone who is just starting out and simply needs an easy read with lots of ideas and some business basics. If that's what you're looking for, this book delivers.

As a serial entrepreneur who has started several ventures, both small and large, I really admire individuals who don't have a lot of time on their hands yet are motivated to take the first steps towards some extra cash -- and even the possibility of financial independence. It takes courage, especially for those with a full-time job and family obligations.

This book introduces the concept of part-time entrepreneurship, provides lots of part-time and home-based business ideas, and also some advice about marketing, etc. In some ways, the most valuable part of this book are the ideas that it presents (a page or two dedicated to each concept). Most of the ideas are within the reach of an entrepreneur who doesn't have a lot of start-up capital, and all are achieveable to varying degrees depending on how much time one can dedicate to them. Also, I really like the fact that this book takes the family into consideration and even discusses how to get the kids involved. For a mother or father trying to make a go of an entrepreneurial business after work or on the weekends, involving the kids can make all the difference in the world. It's nice to see this aspect of home-based entrepreneurship addressed.

The bottom line is that this book is for people who are just starting out and interested in a part-time, home-based business. It provides lots of ideas. If you use one of their ideas, great. And if not, it's still likely that the ideas presented in this books could inspire you and lead you to your own business concept. After you launch your business there are many other resources that will be helpful to you, but the key is to get going, and on that front this book is a good place to start.

God's Love Is Limited Only By Our Creativity...

As the author I want to share my thoughts on this book...

When it comes to being 'conductors' of the love of God there is no end to what can happen when God's Spirit shows up. He causes his people to fall in love with others. That love brings us each to a place of availability to God in reaching out to our surrounding community. This upward spiral widens until we are in touch with larger numbers of people. We end up loving great numbers of people in more profoundly touching ways - all because God grabbed us by the collar to begin with and wouldn't let us go until we were willing to express the love we received out to others. Therein lies the great joy of the life of Christ followers - greater fulfillment in losing than in winning - greater glory in coming in last than in coming in at a place perceived to be the top of the dog pile.
This book helps us to get this notion straight - we are the ones who find glory in coming in last. And it helps us set up a lifestyle of losing in a strategic way over and over by a multitude of serving projects that are proven to work. All the projects are easy and highly doable.

Try them and see. You may become a voice for serving in your neck of the woods as well!

I love it!

Share your love, and show everyone a little bit of Christ! You may be the only kind touch a person receives, and it could be something that opens doors to a different perspective on life. Jesus is an example we should all follow, and this book shows simple ways of performing tasks that will brighten the day of strangers, who will be curious as to why you're doing it. Break the ice with a bottle of water, a smile and a bit of happiness. Let Jesus' light shine!
