"Applebet an ABC" not only presents the letters of the alphabet in an interesting story it also connects with letter sounds.
The story line keeps interest with an apple and farm theme, but goes beyond the alphabet to include "hard" and "soft" C &
G, and CH and SH and TH. This book is a must for teachers and parents aiming to help children make the connection between
the alphanet and phonics.

I love pretty much everything Piece O'Cake has ever done and this book is a good reference for applique. Even though I've
done lots of applique and tried many different techniques, I still learned a few things from this book. Each block in the
sampler quilt presented teaches a different skill, and builds on the previous blocks. The project is not too large and therefore
is not too daunting. Some instructions are also given for machine applique, but the emphasis is on hand applique. If you've
ever wanted to try hand applique, this is a great book to get you started.

A brilliant collection of sustainable architectural works

Arquitectura del Vacio is an extensive selection of the architectural works designed by Melvin Villarroel. The 239-page book
presents twenty-seven of Mr. Villarroel's finest works understood through a wide array of pictures, photographs, drawings,
renderings and sketchs, and easily communicated in Spanish and English. This book encapsulates twenty-five years of experience
-- no other architectural "best works" comes close to its breadth, depth and lasting impact. Every page exhibits the natural
elements that exist in perfect harmony with his designs. The descriptions of the golf resorts, luxury hotel resorts and harbor
resorts are clear, thoughtful and marked by a strong philosophy that is unshakable and visionary. The book is every bit as
ambitious as it is a great value. Mr. Villarroel's book is truly inspired, and I recommend it to any reader looking to understand
sustainable architecture in all of its glory.

This book is a compilation of several of the masters of botannical illustrations -- and even has a few how-to pointers. I
found the stories about the painters interesting the the color plates irresistable. If you seriously like botannical illustration,
this one is an excellent addition to your collection

This one guides you along very well in that it eases you into the rules of perspective and portraying anatomy in a gentle and easy to absorb manner.
Stan Smith uses simple drawings rather than photographs to explain portraying anatomy, which I found easy to reproduce. This gave me the confidence to continue on and wasn't as intimidating as some so called beginner books can be.
He then follows on with examples of perspective that can go into a little to much detail in some areas, but covers the basics very well.
The composition section was especially helpful as it uses both samples of famous works and simple manikin and object set up to explain proper composition, and he does it in a way that won't be beyond the beginner.
Overall its a great all in one starter book. If you don't want to waste time reading seperate books on each subject then this ones for you.
