This is a romance for the 90s. It's about real people who put aside their misjudgements and fall in love all over again. It's told in a light, delightful, literate style and revolves around the classic male/female communications gap a la "Men are from Mars, Women are from Venus." An antique punch bowl plays a prominent role in this wonderful book as do mystery and love. A great read! I loved it. I promise that you will, too

What a wonderful way to share Christmas with your family! This book allows families with younger or older children to experience a myriad of devotions surrounding Christmas. The format of the daily devotions is well laid out so that each and every member of the family can understand the material that is presented. As a musician, I especially enjoyed the devotions about Christmas carols and where they originated from. Some of the carols I have sung for my entire life, but never knew the story behind them. Children will enjoy the devotions about the nativity and what it represents. I think my favorite devotions from the book were the devotions concerning "The Names of the Messiah." At this time of the year, it is good to acknowledge the God and all His wonderful ways. All too often we placed the true meaning of Christmas to the wayside. This little devotional book brings relevance to the sometimes lost elements of Christmas.

As a daily devotional reader, I applaud the way in which this devotional book is laid out - easy to read, and easy to understand. The devotions can be as short, or as lengthy as the family desires. It gives the family a solid structure for a devotional time together for each day of December.

Very shortly this devotional book, "The Experience of Christmas: Family Devotions and Activities to Prepare Hearts," will be in my church library. It is my hope that a family will use it to build a deeper understanding of the Christ child, and a lasting relationship with Him.

It is a classic. It does give you a good look at Arachaeological work in the 20's. Tell's you what was found before development destroyed most of it.

This book has fantastic inquiry based ecology activities. I ordered mine from the NSTA and I started using it the moment I got it. I teach at a school that is entirely ELL and have had little success using inquiry in the past, but have had great success with the activities that I have used so far. The lesson plans are detailed and provide all the assistance you could ask for as well as great worksheets. They are easy to use, don't require a whole bunch of supplies and are clear and concise.

Warren Thompson's F-117 STEALTH FIGHTER UNITS OF OPERATION DESERT STORM provides a fine survey of the F-117, developed by Lockheed with Stealth technology to take place as a key component of Operation Desert Shield. Military collections strong on aviation and recent military history will find this a fine blend of pilot experiences and memoirs and technical information juxtaposed by color photos throughout.

Warren Thompson has given the air enthusiasts, historians, and Mustang buffs an excellent start in Osprey's "Frontline Color" series. F-51 Mustang Units over Korea contains a great deal of information and carefully selected color photos of all US and UN users of F-51/RF-51s during the Korean War. This book covers a much overlooked area of aviation history dealing with F-51 operations and units in Korea. The facts about Australian, South Korean, and South African units were an extra bonus. This book gives these outstanding pilots, ground crews, and units their due.

Perfect for US Air Force, Royal Australian Air Force, South African Air Force and South Korean Mustang enthusiasts. It is a great book and I recommend it highly. If you want an operational overview of the F-51 Mustangs you wouldn't go wrong with this book - well worth the price and time to read.

Warren Thompson is a friend of mine. I contributed information for his books. In Chapter 5 there is mention of my encounter with a MIG15& I jettioned my Tip Tanks to be more maneuverable & my wingman told me that the MIG on my tail flew Into the tanks. This was never confirmed but so what I got back to K-14 (Kimpo)in one piece. Warren got with pilots like me who flew 100 combat missions to be authentic & not full of stories. He is a Historian & an excellent author. His Chapters regarding F-80Cs deals with the pilots flying Fighter Bomber missions. These pilots along with F-84 pilots took the brunt of combat losses. They did not have easy missions. I lost many friends.

Warren Thompson can lay claim to being THE historian of the Korean air war. In the last 15 years he has written many fine, well-researched and well-illustrated books on various aspects of that long-ago war for Osprey, Specialty Press, etc. along with articles for 'Airpower,' 'Flight Journal' and other mags.

In this Osprey 'Aircraft of the Aces' book he chronicles the combat exploits of the 51st FW from late 1951 to war's end. The 51st was 'Brand X,' the second F-86 wing to go into combat but its pilots were second-to-none in killing MiGs. Wing aces included 'Gabby' Gabreski, the unit's first CO, Bill Whisner, Cecil Foster, Hal Fischer and top ace Joe McConnell. Thompson does a marvelous job of charting the wing's combats, including many first-person narratives from the MiG killers themselves that put the reader right in the cockpit.

Visually the book is a delight with many color photos and 14 pages of color profiles including 3 pages of nose art close-ups by Mark Styling. Very nicely done!

All in all, it's a fine tribute to the fighter jocks of the 51st FW well worth the $20.95 price tag.
