Whether or not you are new to Thai cooking, this book is sure to impress and inspire. The recipes are simple to follow. Some are traditional, some are Thai fusion style. The ingredients are readily available in most American cities. The presentation is modern and very refined. Casual and classy Thai food is what you are presented with here in this book. And if you are fortunate enough to visit Bangkok, a Jim Thompson restaurant experience will make you dream of Thailand for years to come. I highly recommend one at Mr. Thompson's Thai House Museum which is an absolute oasis of calmness and beauty.

This book contains an incredible wealth of information on catfish keeping, breeding, taxonomy etc., plus a wealth of photos. Unlike too many TFH books, which are just rehashes of old photographs, this book contains real, useful, in depth info, that makes it worth the rather high price.

Warren Estabrooks is an icon for Auditory Verbal Therapy, so anyone interested in this approach for deaf children cannot overlook this book. However, as it is listed at $41.95 on the AG Bell site (www.agbell.org), the price listed here must be in error.

This is a mind-blowingly clear and well written book. On almost every page I stopped and thought, "I wish I had written that". These three guys know their stuff, and luckily for the rest of us, they have a good handle on our stuff as well. Creation has been groaning, longing for the revealing of wisdom like this. When I finished reading it, I re-read it. In a world of foggy confusion, ambiguity and chaos, this book will help us find our way home. What's next?

Many of the Korean air war sorties flown were made by WWII vets flying similarly 'retreaded' aircraft like the P-51, B-29, T-6 and B-26. The Douglas B-26, which had seen WWII service as the A-26, proved to be a potent ground-attack platform for day or night missions. Armed with 10 or more .50-caliber machine guns and toting 4,000-6,000 pounds of bombs, rockets and naplam, the Invader proved to be the bane of Communist forces in Korea. The Invader's outstanding combat record is told in this Osprey 'Frontline Colour' volume by Warren Thompson.

B-26s flew the first and last bombing strikes of the Korean War. Between those two missions, three Invader units - the 3rd, 17th and 452nd Bomb Wings - killed hundreds of thousands of enemy troops and destroyed thousands of trucks, tanks, artillery pieces, trains, bridges and other materials. Over 150 B-26Bs, -Cs and photo recce models were lost in return.

As with his other 'Frontline colour' titles, author Thompson's B-26 book is an interesting blend of numerous first-person narratives from various aircrew and over 120 nicely reproduced color photographs of aircrew, aircraft, weapons, targets under attack and so on. Thirty-two pages are given over the the striking nose art carried by Invaders.

Despite the significant role the B-26 played in the Korean War, few books have been written detailing the exploits of this formidable warplane. Thompson's book fills that gap with this exciting, well-researched and well-illustrated tribute to the B-26 and its intrepid crews. Recommended.

I very highly recommend Bread Baking with Children. It has a great wealth of information on how to and what you need to prepare dough and bake bread, how to do this successfully with children, and why it is beneficial to do so for the children and your home or classroom. It is also very interesting and enjoyable to read and is filled with lovely anecdotes, sketches, and photographs. Any teacher, parent, or caregiver of children could benefit from and enjoy working with this book, even those with a great deal of experience. The writing is very clear, warm, and simple. From recipes, equipment, and ingredients, to mixing, rising, and kneading, to stories, songs, and poems, all is provided for someone to become a true baker and leader of children baking bread. Emphasis is given to the educational and developmental benefits for children's physical, intellectual, and spiritual growth and on ways to incorporate children's bread baking into various school subjects and for different ages. Health related issues concerning bread, wheat, and food in general, such things as sensitivities, allergies, and intolerances, alternatives to wheat, fertilizers, pesticides, and fungicides, natural and artificial ingredients, genetically modified food, and factory-baked bread are also discussed and a useful measurement conversion chart is provided. Details are even given for how to build your own earthen oven. After reading Bread Baking with Children, you will know well why some breads are good, and why other breads are not. You will know how to bake bread yourself and how to lead children in the bread baking process. And, you will know how to do both enjoyably and in ways that are healthful for you and your children's body, mind, and soul. Again, I very highly recommend this book for all who help take care of and educate our children and for anyone who would like to learn how to bake bread and why baking your own bread is so much better than buying it at the supermarket.

This book is essential for anyone who is considering entering the coaching arena. The book is not a primer on running plays and rebounding effectively. It is the keystone for building an effective program and increasing the effectiveness of the coaches who are entrusted with it! I have used this book and its philosophies to better understand my motivations on the sideline and improve my relationships with my players and other coaches. This book was placed in the working library of the Morris Center YMCA (Cedar Knolls, N.J.) where we used it to help push the enrollment in our Youth Basketball Association to over 450 children. I am now the Assistant Basketball Coach at the College of St. Elizabeth (Convent Station, N.J.) and I have assigned chapters for other coaches to read and several of the forms have been modified for my specific needs. If you are building a program, a career or both, this must be in your collection!

This is a wonderful book on a gorgeous subject. The text is very interesting and the images are crisp and well conceived. As anyone who has visited the gardens at Bayou Bend can tell attest, this place is simply breathtaking. The mansion and grounds are part of the Museum of Fine Arts Houston, as bequeathed by Miss Hogg. The gardens were her passion, she looked after them and the home as if they were her children. The gardens are a study in landscape design, they follow the meandering of the stream, or bayou, as Houstonians call them. I highly suggest visiting Bayou Bend in April when the azaleas are in full bloom, it really is a sight to behold, and bring this book with you, it makes a wonderful companion for the trip. Highly recommended to anyone with an appreciation for beautiful things.

Warren Wiersbe writes in a way that anyone, adult or teen can understand. He uses everyday examples and experiences to bring his points home and throughout writes in a mood of encouragement and love. I would highly recommend Be Alert for those who desire a serious, yet loving approach to Bible Study.

All of the Bible studies in Warren Wiersbe's "Be" series are good, but this one is especially so. In the past I have found Judges to be a difficult book to read and study. I bought "Be Available" to help in studying for a Sunday
School class I'm teaching on the book of Judges. I'm finding it to be very helpful indeed. Wiersbe goes beyond the historical facts to help the reader understand the "why" things happened as they did. He also applies the lessons of Judges to the lives of believers today. A very helpful book!
