GGGGGREAT BOOK!!!

I agree with the previous review. I have read other Law Of Attraction books and this stands out by far. Do not think that because it was written so long ago that its message cannot be understood by contemporary minds.. On the contrary, Mr. Sears does an EXCELLENT job of EXPANDING the same message many of you have seen in the movie, "The Secret". Buy this book and read it SEVERAL TIMES...let the wisdom sink deep into your subconscious and watch those vibes increase!

Best book by far on "Law of Attraction"

Review Date: 2006-10-05
This book is a rare gem in the ever-growing plethora of "manifestation books." It is written with an unforgetable eloquence and insight which conveys that its author, F.W. Sears, really EXPERIENCED what he was writing about.

It deserves many readings until the reader has really grasped and FELT the truths contained. Sears himself suggests that the book many need to be read many times before its message is embodied by the reader.

"The third thing is to remember that this book only teaches how to grow a constructive and harmonious consciousness; you will have to do the work of applying its lessons. New habits are not formed in a day and the lessons which this book teaches will not be absorbed in one reading...
It is dependent on you alone as to how valuable this book becomes to you. The author has proven for himself everything he teaches. He knows that everything he says is true, and you can know it too but you will have to apply the lessons and prove them for yourself... You will note that the author does not quote any authorities for any of his statements. The highest authority any soul can possibly have is its own God-self and it is this God-self in you which the proper and persistent study and application of these lessons will bring out into greater expression, and thus enable you to set the new causes in motion which will bring you success along any line you may desire. "

It is a short book which can easily be read in an evening, and thereafter in bite-sized pieces just to keep its message fresh.

The book deals with the contrast between the "Law of Harmonious Attraction," which essentially is the law that binds the Universe together, and the man-made Law of Force which we see operating everywhere in our world today.

The only problem is that the Law of Force requires constantly renewed application of force to maintain whatever it brings, whereas the Law of Harmonious Attraction can operate effortlessly and eternally.

"While it is true that under the Law of Force we can and do manipulate people and things, just as the chickens run after and snatch the food from each other, and we can achieve temporary success and obtain large fortunes as long as we exert the stronger force, yet the time always comes somewhere down the line of our cosmic journey when some other life is able to manipulate the Law of Force in a stronger way than we and then our fortunes begin to crumble and melt away. Under the Law of Harmonious Attraction the manipulation of people and things belongs to God the great Universal Law and is a part of the work with which we have absolutely nothing to do. "

There are many fascinating insights in this book--such as the different levels of consciousness in human beings and how they operate; what happens to human consciousness after death; why people fail in maintaining a "success consciousness"---and how to correct this.

"An examination into the consciousness and habits of such persons [who do not "succeed" in harmonious attraction] showed that their work was done under more or less of a strain; that they were invariably anxious or tense, rarely ever relaxing, with the result that they generated an inharmonious energy, constructed an inharmonious wall around them in which they were enclosed like a shell; this prevented the things that they had created, and which stood just outside of this wall or shell, from entering their atmosphere and materializing in form. "

Although the principles in the book will be familiar to readers who have already gone through the many books on "Attraction," there is a rare depth, feeling, and authenticity in the way these principles are described and elucidated in this book.

I have read and greatly benefited from most of the current literature on manifestation and attraction---"Abraham," Vitale, Losier, Dyer and many others, but I think this book "says it all" with great eloquence and above all a practical simplicity which you can really apply and use.

Its message will reverberate with you every day and slowly, as its principles are applied, you just may see miracles manifest in your life.

This book is the ideal way to learn from someone else's experience. Because of the nature of the business, not many agents are willing to share what works for them. This book details how to approach all types of real estate opportunities and turn them into money making transactions. Danielle Kennedy is honest enough to let the new agent know that there may be 100 disappointments for every one successful contact; an approach that encourages the agent to keep going when prospects look dim.

Being new to Real Estate I needed a book that gave me the A-Z for being the best I could be in this industry right away. This book delivers. If you are new to Real Estate Sales or you have been in the business for a while, this book will give you all the tools necessary to get your business off to a quick start. You will need a yellow marker for this one and you'll probably highlight ideas of every page, because there is so much useful information. At the end of the book is an action plan to take you to "Breakaway". 21 days on this plan and you'll feel confident with Buyers and Sellers, not to mention all the friends you meet along the way. How to Store Your Garden Produce

Fantastic for any gardener

Piers Warren starts off with basic instructions for storage methods: clamping (storing large quantities of roots outside) and other methods of dry storage, freezing, drying (from oven to dehydrator), vacuum-packing, salting, bottling/canning, pickling, relishes & sauces, jams & jellies, and fermenting. This volume isn't meant as a full-blown wine-making or jam-making resource, so these are only the most basic instructions.

The rest of the book covers individual types of produce in alphabetical order. Since the focus of this book is supporting yourself on your own produce, Warren discusses some topics you might not expect. For instance, how best to harvest a vegetable so as to encourage further harvest throughout the season. He discusses varieties that will have longer harvest times, or that will produce during different times of the year. He talks about how some plants can be started at different times so as to result in a longer harvest period as well.

One potentially useful feature is the section of recommended varieties. For example, the apples section lists out two good varieties of cooking apples, a crab apple, and a handful of eating apples, noting which ones keep particularly well or work best for wine-making or the like. However, in some cases this won't be as useful outside of Britain (the book was written & published in Britain but is also being distributed in other countries). For instance, I don't recognize many of the apple or tomato varieties. However, I do recognize a number of the carrot and chard varieties. It just depends on whether a particular type is available & grows well where you are.

The one other small potential snag is a couple of terminology issues. Most of them aren't a big deal (what US readers call canning, Brits call bottling, but the author notes this). One or two types of produce might be listed under a name unfamiliar to you (plenty of people have heard eggplants called aubergines, but not everyone in the US knows them by that term). Don't let this deter you from buying this book if you're in the US, however---the information is incredibly useful, and in most cases there are enough informative notes included that you can substitute varieties as appropriate or easily figure out the terminology differences. Also, all measurements for recipes and such are given in both metric and English measurements.

If you want to become more self-sufficient, or you just want to make better and less wasteful use of your garden produce, I definitely recommend this book.

Excellent Reference Book

This unusual book saves so much time trawling through all my old gardening books looking for storage techniques for various vegetables and fruit. I use it a lot and have also given it to friends as presents and they are very pleased too! Highly recommended.

One of the few good biographies out there

At fourteen, I have to read many biographies about famous presidents, since I'm homeschooled and my dad is big on history. He gave me this book to read, and to my surprise, it was the only biography of Lincoln that I have ever read in which I found myself grieving that he was murdered. With every other biography, I was always glad when he finally got shot, just so the book would end already.

Timeless...Made me smile

I read this book nearly 7 years ago and still remember a few of the anecdotes with fondness. At the time I was 13 and could appreciate the simple logic of Mr. Lincoln and his sparkling wit. I'd recommend this to anyone looking for a nostalgic read that won't confront you with questions about Lincoln's political ambitions or racial attitudes. It is simply about a man, famous though he may have been, he was also smart and funny. In an age when humor is all about hurtful, shock-value jokes, this reminds us that it takes far more to make someone laugh and be able to do so more than 100 years after you are gone.

This little book is a powerhouse of wisdom. It glows with the understanding that comes from years of inner searching and of helping others find their courage to be and to do. I've taken many "Joy of Singing" workshops with Warren in Los Angeles and this book is a reminder of those experiences. You can take a page a day to ponder, or you can take the whole thing at one gulp. Either way, you'll surely have something to think about and help you grow. I highly recommend it.

Being a Pastor for more than 20 years, I finally read a book on church growth that change my ministry and leadership style completely. "Una Iglesia Con Proposito" would change your life and ministry too. From the first page to the last, you can learn what the church is all about. Rick Warren opens his heart and shares what he went through to plant the Saddleback Valley church. He tells us what are the myths of growing churches and how to break them. Would you like your church to become a purpose driven church? You'll find in this book the five biblical purposes of a New Testament church, and you can find them in the Great Commision and the Great Commandment. Rick shares that Evangelism, Discipleship, Felloship, Ministry and Worship can help your church grow when you apply them on purpose. Then we can reach out to our community and share the gospel with them. By finding out who is our target, knowing whom we can best reach, and developing a strategy we can have a better outreach ministry. This book is a must read for all persons interested in seeing their church and ministry become more effective and fruitful. You can have both quality and quantity. Why? Because quantity is always the result of quality. By reading, applying, and practicing the principles taught in this book you can turn attenders into members, develop mature members, and turn members into ministers. Enjoy it, and enjoy seeing your church and ministry being blessed.

"In Search of a Warm Room" ist das Ergebnis. Lesenswert!

This is an excellent book for anyone wanting to know what life was like during WWII for the everyday ethnic German. Although not widely known, the everyday German suffered at the hands of Nazi Germany. This is a compelling read of suffering and triumph of the human spirit. It is a must read for all students of WWII.

I purchased Infostructor about a year ago. I was modeling data since 1982 and went into management a few years ago and decided to "get acquainted" with data modeling again.

I found most of the books I purchased to be less than helpful, boring, and redundant. So, when I purchased this product I kept everything so I could return it if I didn't like it.

Well, I kept it. I kept it because it's exciting, informative, practical, and effective. I learned more from this software in a few days than in months of reading modeling books.

I keep it with me on my notebook and reference it constantly. I do this because I sometimes get a little excited and model an area poorly. I then check what I did against what is suggested in Infostructor and I'm on the right course again.

I don't know if the author(s) of Infostructor will read this, but a hardy "WELL DONE"!!! Please let me know if you create other gems.

My daughter absolutley loves Junie B. Jones, so I thought these cassettes would be great for long car rides. The first thing that I got a kick out of is Lana Quintel's voice--she is just perfect as Junie. She's got a little-girlish, slightly nervous tone, which really fits. Some audio stories can really bore you to tears, which is bad for the adult driving the car, but these keep you listening and aware.
The story lines really fit for young kids (older 5's+), since Junie has to get through typical situations like loose teeth, "boyfriends", self-inflicted hair cuts, etc.
Some of the books show Junie's more obnoxious, negative self, so I just avoid them and go for the cuter stories.

I have been reading the Junie B. Jones collection to my kindergarten class from the beginning of the school year. They absolutely love the collection. At times I have found the language inappropriate for kindergarten. I have chosen to change some of the words as I read. The children do not realize and the books still remain enjoyable and fun. Barbara Park is a great author and has truley captured the uniqueness of a child's kindergarten career. All books are HIghly remcommended. I tried to keep this book until the last day of school when my students would have officially been first graders. They wouldn't let me. One of my students brought the book from home and we finished it in two sittings. Junie B. Jones First Grader at Last is a great book to read to the child who is anxious about first grade and the changes that my come with growing up.
