This little gem contains the sheet music of some the Cranberries best hits; it contains two of my personal favorites: 'Dreaming My Dreams' and 'Zombie'. I would say that this is a must have for anyone who plays the guitar or anyone who is a fan of the group.

The best book on selling ever
Helpful Votes: 0 out of 0 total.
Review Date: 2008-06-06
I took a one-day seminar with David King in 1982 which totally changed the way I thought about selling, and his book will revolutionize your thinking as well. But it was David's own change in thinking that was the most profound, as he reveals in his book.

A business to business sales manager, David reluctantly hired his first woman, essentially threw her out there with no training and little support, and to his astonishment, she outsold every man on his team.

Every time David would hire a woman, this pattern would repeat. They would take the company's sales materials and present them to customers in their own way, and become the star performers.

David realized not only that women make the best salespeople, but why women's inherent "soft selling" skills of teaching and persuading are the key to getting people to say "yes."

That's why David eventually started his own training and placement agency specifically for women in B2B sales in New York, which later expanded to include men, Careers for Women (and Men) Inc. http://careersforwomen.com

I have been in B2B selling for more than 20 years, been through several sales training programs and read a ton of sales books, but David King's "The Best Way in the World For a Woman to Make Money," is the best book ever for women -- and men -- who want to succeed in sales.

This book is wonderful and practical for wedding planning.

This book is great if you have planned much of your wedding and just need to double check some things, or need advice if you're confused over anything. The question and answer format of the book makes it very easy to read because it's easy skip over the questions you already know the answers to. It is also very practical and includes many ways to cut back on costs.

The only thing the book didn't mention is to double check the dates with everyone, especially the officiant, so there are no mix-ups. It is also somewhat localized, many of the examples come from the Northwest. However she does try to give general price ranges from around the country.

THis book examines the so-called fued between Bette Davis and Joan Crawford. It follows the girls lives from childhood, to their acting careers, and to their battles with their grown children. It is extremely thorough Mr. Considine interviews numerous actors, families, and the lovers of both Davis and Crawford. If you are a Joan Crawford or Bette Davis fan, this is the book to get

Grim but good

The heroine is an unhappy alcoholic bisexual British journalist investigating the murder of two pop music stars. The setting is the London music scene. Some blurbs and reviews emphasized the computer content but the only computer-related event I noticed was that someone introduces a virus to prevent a suspect erasing his files. Statistical sales projections are an element but that doesn't seem very high high-tech. It is hard-boiled with rapid action and strong hints of sexuality and violence, although by the end there has been only minor violence (the murders are off-stage) and no explicit sex. Very little humor. Nobody seems to be enjoying themselves much although they spend their time partying and clubbing and surrounded by money. It's a page-turner but some might find it depressing.

A CLASSIC OF MAINE CRUISING

I bought and read this wonderful book by Gerald Brace soon after Norton first published it in 1966! Insofar as it recently has been republished, it clearly is a classic. I now am buying a copy of this paperback to give to friends with whom we are about to embark on another Maine cruise, our 39th. In the summer of '66 or '67, we had chartered a Swiftsure sloop out of Five Islands, Maine, found the book in a Camden bookstore, and avidly read it aboard in the evenings. It exudes the delightful sights and scents of Maine coastal cruising. I have always cherished that original copy and later kept it on board our Tartan 37 sloop for our cruising guests to enjoy.

An experiment in international living( from the preface)

The Experiment in international living has been going on since 1932. For the first quarter century the program put students in short-term summer exchanges living as a member of a family in a host country. This was the original live-with-a-family program which has been adopted in the meantime by many different organizations and programs. By the late 1950s the Experiement had become an international federation similar to the United Nations with offices in nearly fourty countries crossing international boundaries in all directions.
Since the 1950s the Experiment has assisted many institutions in planning and administrating academic semesters abroad programs for students and faculties. The articles in the book represent a sampling of the approaches and techniques developed by the Experiment and its School for International Training.

Beyond the Safe Zone - A Robert Silverberg Omnibus

I buy every Robert Silverberg title I don't already own, and this one had a sort of surprise for me: I already had each and every story that is printed in this book. How come? This is an omnibus of the following excellent collections: "Unfamiliar Territory", "Capricorn Games" and "The Feast of St. Dionysus". My reason for keeping this copy are the interlaced story introductions by Robert Silverberg, telling the story behind the stories. If you don't already own these three titles, buy this one imediately. It was published in Britain as volume 3 of "The collected stories of Robert Silverberg" and there are as now at least 6 volumes published, who together provide a treasurebox of the best what Science Fiction stories can offer, especially when it goes together with the insights and retrospects of Mr. Silverberg himself.

Bible Animal Friends: A Fun Googly Eyes Book (Googly Eyes)

Unique, Fun Learning Tool
Helpful Votes: 0 out of 0 total.
Review Date: 2007-07-10
Bible Animal Friends by Matt Mitter does a great job of combining basic biblical learning with fun stuff that young children love.

First, this is a book about animals (who happen to be found in the Bible). Second, the book employs a super kid-friendly device: huge googly eyes.

Each two page spread of this book features one animal (with googly eyes) and one story of how it was featured in the Bible. (Bible verses are also provided, so parents can answer questions that might come up.) We learn about the flies who were part of a plague on Egypt, Balaam's talking donkey, ravens that brought food to Elijah, ants from Proverbs, and the camels who brought the wise men to baby Jesus.

When my 23 month old saw this book, she went crazy; I couldn't keep it away from her. She found the googly eyes fascinating, and I had to let her use the book as a toy for an afternoon before she'd even let me read the book. When I did read the book, the content kept her interested beyond the novelty googly eyes.

What I Like: The entire concept is a good one. Little kids love animals. Little kids love googly eyes. Combine the two with some biblical truths and you have a great teaching tool. The illustrations by Warner McGee are also unique, colorful, and amusing without being inappropriate. I wish more Christian children's book were so well illustrated.

What I Dislike: Nothing. In fact, we (my daughter and I, that is) like this book so well, we wish it was a bit longer.

Overall Rating: Excellent.
