I'd recommend this brand new and excellent coffee table book to anyone interested in lighthouses. it's not really a book to "read", it's just pictures of lighthouses. but the pics are GREAT! There are pics of the lighthouses in Cape May, Cape Cod, Assateague, Portland, Frankfurt, and more. Get this book if you like lighthouses.

Though I feel I have a successful relationship with my husband of 21 years, the teachings and exercises in this book gave me many "aha" moments.
The depth of wisdom and the personal connection the authors exhibit through their sharing is inspiring and motivates me to work more consciously with my own relationships.
Stories from many others highlight the messages and guidelines in the book.
Great for those new to consciously creating deep, intimate relationships and also for those who have been at it for a long time. Would be wonderful to use as a study guide in a group setting.

If this is Jeff's first effort, I can't wait to see his follow ups. This book is witty, funny and clever. His marriage of East London slang and Shakespearian monologue is brilliant. He also parallels his story to that of a few Shakespeare themes as well. Get this book you will be quite amused!

This title is a good choice for introducing children to Ms. Frizzle and her class of diverse personalities. Kids learn from this book that we hear sound when objects vibrate and that sound is dampened when vibration is hindered. Eventually the class dons magic glasses that allow them to see soundwaves. The students notice that higher sounds have waves that are close together whereas lower sounds have waves spread much further apart. The concepts aren't difficult to grasp and the plot is entertaining.
This book became an instant favorite of my daughter when she was two and a half years old. It still interests both my son and daughter now that they are five and a half and three and a half respectively. They love reading the noises in the spooky forest where the bus grinds to a halt outside the museum and they never tire of hearing sounds emanating from the audible books inside the museum.
The straightforward science and noisy read make this a great introductory title. Once children are familiar with Ms. Frizzle hook them with other Magic School Bus books where the morphing antics of the bus play a more central role. An animation of MSB in the Huanted Museum is also available.

Enduring examples of the workworker's art

The collaborative effort of furniture and woodworking experts Edward S. Cooke, Jr., Gerald W. R. Ward, and Kelly H. L'Ecuyer, The Maker's Hand: American Studio Furniture 1940-1990 beautifully displays elegant wooden furniture impressively enhanced with full color photography. Examining the original and distinctive nature of studio furniture in strict contrast to mass-produced furnishings, The Maker's Hand dwells upon function of these creations, as well as their qualities as three-dimensional, ultimately resonant, and enduring examples of the workworker's art. The Maker's Hand is a welcome and highly appreciated addition to personal, professional, and community library Woodworking, Antiques/Collectibles, and American Furniture reference collections.

I had the pleasure of meeting Randy Ward when he was a speaker for Arbonne in Columbus, OH. I purchased 4 of his books at the time which are all great; however, Tapping the Source will truly open your heart and soul and make you see life as you've never seen it before. Get the book! You won't want to put it down!

Lossky on apophaticism, Meyendorff on neo-Palamism, Bulgakov of Sophiology, Romanides on neo-Photianism, Trembelas on Christology, Afanasiev on ecclesiology, Florovsky on tradition, Schmemann on the liturgy, Nelles on anthropology, Yannaras on ethics, and Evdokimov on eschatology.
Nichols has many books out and in print, all worth reading. His Rome and the Eastern Churches is particularly useful from an ecumenical point of view that doesn't sell the farm to have a rainbow coalition. Enjoy!
