It is disappointing that this book brings so few fresh insights to the subject. The authors seem to have nothing much to say
other than repeating views that have been spelled out by other economists and academics. While it can serve as a reference,
it doesn't have too much value as a piece of scholarly work.

Do not look here for anything new, unless you have never heard the Stalin era accounts of the fall of Berlin. Yes the author
does add some lines here and there that are not politburo approved but that does not make it a good read. I must add I was
looking for info on the last stand of the Wehrmacht from the Russian MILITARY side (read viewpiont),not the press corps. As
it was I only bought an old softcover thinking I may be disappointed. I recommend doing the same. If you have plenty of time
you may find a tidbit to add to your knowledge or treat it as a way of practicing "find the party line"

A Book About Alan Trachtenberg

Do you know how clever Alan Trachtenberg is? I mean, do you really, really know?! Because if not, this book is for you.
Trachtenberg's book is only superficially about Indians or Americans, it is about the obscure conections he can draw between
unrelated things--because he is very clever, you know. In so far as this book has a thesis, that it is it.

What can one say but, dont judge the book buy its cover. In my case (and everyone else who buys from amazon) i did exactly
this, expecting too much, i was BITTERLY disapointed in the content of the book. I love scandanavian architecture and for
some stupid reason the author decided to write a book on 20th Century architecture but left out the all important 1970 - 2000
buildings. The author focussed far too much on Pre-20th leading to. overall i hated the book. (the first one mind you ever!
since purchasing from amazon in 5 years) If your interested in the background of swedish architecture then fine it's probably
a great book, however if it's great design your after then this is certainly not the one!.

I thought since I live in an area with a large Asian population that I would enjoy this book, but that is far from the case.
Not only it is the smallest of the Wei Chuan books, it has some nasty Western recipes in there as well. Simple is better.
Why didn't they put more vegetable recipes like steamed Chinese brocoli with vegetarian oyster sauce? Instead they have a
positively putrid recipe for potato salad and even vegarian hamburger! It's not worth $7.95 or $12 with shipping. They need
to redo the recipes, do more things with tofu, and even some brown rice clay pot recipes. I can't find very many recipes
which I would make.
Very! Very! Disappointing!

I was anticipating receiving this book, as I enjoy vegetarian food and don't mind meat substitutes, but was disappointed to
find that almost all of the recipes call for "prepared" Asian meat substitutes (vegetarian cuttlefish, dried gluten balls
etc.) that are nearly *impossible* to find, even online, it seems. Perhaps if one lived in a city that has a *large* Asian
population and well stocked groceries, it wouldn't be a problem. I cook Asian and ethnic foods quite a bit, and my local Asian
grocery is quite good, but I've never encountered any of these. Perhaps some could be substituted with TVP or similar, but
the descriptions of the meat subs are so vague ("vegetarian meat," "vegetarian meat chunks" with corresponding pictures that
really don't resemble anything I've ever seen before) that I would be afraid to try. I am familiar with the Wei Chuan cook
books and realize that most already assume that you know something about what you're doing, but this one is particularly vague.
So, I would really skip this book unless you have access to these unusual items (which frankly, sound very good and I would
like to try!)

This cookbook is very, very bad. The recipes are really unappetizing. There is a picture given with every recipe, but all
of the food looks gross. I have been a vegetarian for 12 years and LOVE Chinese food, but this cookbook is the pits. This
cookbook seems to cater to vegetarians that still crave the taste of meat. Most of the recipes call for fake pork (gross)
or chicken, fish(eel, cuttlefish even). Do not invest in this cookbook.

The Office 2000 for Dummies Value Pack consists of 3 books only one of which focuses on Office 2000. The other 2 deal with
Microsoft Iternet Explorer 5 and Front Page. Unless you have these programs or have the Premium edition of Office 2000 this
package won't be of much use to you and you would be better off buying Office 2000 for Dummies alone.
Why is it a secret what this "value Pack" contains.

You should heed the warning written on the opening pages, "The authors were especially inspired by The New York Times,...Time,
Newsweek, and the New Yorker". The Graphic adaptation of the 9/11 Report was far superior, but in that work, the authors
were grounded by the logic and reality of a non-partisan project. If you see the US efforts in Iraq as nothing but calamity
and blunder, then this is an excellent piece of unfettered propaganda for you.
Consider that the chapter addressing the Surge (19 pages of 149 total) is nothing but a continuation of explosions, murder, chaos and horror. There is not a single positive image or statement describing the situation in post-Surge Iraq.
It's not hard then, to recognize that the entire book is obviously themed to reenforce the same stale talking points of the anti-war left: There were no WMDs; Bush was hell-bent on war from the get-go; every aspect of the operation was mis-managed or corrupt; Iraq distracted the US from Afghanistan, and all developing problems in A-stan were caused by efforts in Iraq; war crimes, torture, rape, sleep-deprivation, etc.
Accompanying the mediocre drawings of suicide bombings, IEDs, and dead soldiers, are depictions of the space shuttle Columbia burning up on re-entry, Hurricane Katrina, and the Virginia Tech shooting massacre. (I'm not kidding.) More apparent unintended consequences of liberating Iraq and ridding the world of one of the most evil despots that ever lived. But don't look in this book for Saddam to be described in such a way. This is a comic book indeed.

This book, a collection of works by leading figures in the field, is devoted to the latest developments of modern magnetism
including micromagnetism, nanomagnetic materials, magnetic multilayers, macroscopic quantum magnetism, rare-earth intermetallic
compounds, giant magnetoresistance, and their applications. Some new concepts and theories are also included for a better
understanding of these novel phenomena. This book can be used as an advanced text book on magnetism and materials science
for graduate students in physics and materials science departments. It is also useful as a research reference for condensed
matter physicists and materials scientists.

the other chapters are also good overviews of the state-of-art in various fields, e.g. cmos sensor devices but since technology in these areas changes so fast, book seems dated there as well.
