I have read many books on fuzzy control, I found this is the most logical and comprehensive. The most important feature of the book is the formulation of diverse varieties of fuzzy control methods. It presents the fuzzy control in a progressive and logical way. However, its mathematical notations and proof of theorems block up many readers'learning. It is easy to be lost in struggling with the mathematics, without knowing the rationale behind theorems. Intutitive explanations for formulas and notations are required. It would be perfect if it includes programming examples to show how to implement fuzzy controllers with popular computer languages, also, drill problems with solutions at the end of each chapter will benefit to readers.

This Book is Great!!
The artwork is extremely delailed, yet very cool. I think the artwork's Chinese, I'm not sure. There's no sensuality or any of that crap, but there's some cussing. The storyline's pretty good.

The two main characters are very good at fighting,(the guy being better then the girl) and there's 2 fights and the begining of one in this volume (there's 4 volumes).

The only reason that I didn't give this comic it's last star is becouse the color is to way to rich in some places. Also the fighting seens can be sort of confusing sometimes, but they're still awsome.

GET IT !!!!!!!!!!!!!

Danny is the son of missionary parents living on a Hawaiian island. Poi is a native food and a small black dog (Blackie) is being fattened on a diet of poi. Once he is large enough, Blackie will then be eaten. To prevent this, Danny steals and eats Blackie's food so that he will remain thin and not be made into a meal. Danny is also given the task of tutoring the son of the king, a job that turns out to be a great deal of fun. After a short lesson in the alphabet, the student takes Danny out on canoe rides, swimming, surfing and other exciting activities. Danny is concerned that his student is not learning the alphabet, but all his fears are unwarranted. At a great party, the king makes eating dogs taboo and the student uses his body to make all the letters of the alphabet.
This is an excellent multicultural story for young children. They would have great fun trying to make the letters, although some of them may require significant contortionist skill.

A good book in term of theory, a collage for practitioners!

Enter,at last, Data Mining in the field of process control. This book by Prof.Wang although considers data mining- its utility and issues at length, stops short of giving insight into the implementation details. No doubt, the author has cited instances to put through the basic ideas, but is not able to generate the kind of enthusiasm that will see process engineers(or any enthusiast) advocate for and apply data mining in their capacities. The academia will be very pleased, the consultants will appreciate the application, but process enginneers- who comprise a big chunk of the target audience, will unfortunately remain confused on the efficiency of the tool on hand! Nevertheless, the author gives a comprehensive coverage of data mining techniques. However, in the current scenario, where it's the implementation of ideas, not just the ideas, that sell, I would believe this monograph comes out as a very well compiled book in terms of theoretical knowledge, but will appear like a collage to the practitioners-punters in the industry! Sorry Prof.Wang, but congratulations all the same!

This series is very enjoyable. The mysteries are good, but the view of the culture in modern day China is even more compelling. Inspector Wang and his new bride travel back to the Inspector's home town to honor his father and he stumbles onto a murder. I am looking forward to new books in this series.

quality writing on theatre, acting, and Shakespeare

Hazlitt's an early 19th century (Regency) writer and theatre critic. This book collects his reviews and descriptions of the
top actors of his day (Kean, Kemble, Siddons, ...) in Shakespearean and other roles. Frankly, he doesn't go into as much detail as I'd like, but what details he gives us of these classic performances, while not revolutionary are fun to envision, and give us an idea of the state of theatre at the time. He tends to drift off into raptures about a play or actor (or Shakespeare in general), but his enthusiasm is catching, and his language beautiful.
Note that if you've read Hazlitt's "Characters in Shakespeare's Plays" some of the material will not be new to you, but enough is that I think if you enjoyed that, you'll want to read this too.

Finally, someone covered the subject right.

I have used this book extensively in lecture preparations for an advanced graduate-level TEM course. There has long been a need for such a book, which covers all aspects of electron interactions in materials with extraordinary depth and clarity. The book is remarkably well organized and clearly written, with illustrations that actually illustrate rather than distract. I found it very readable, yet deep in its content. Technical issues are confronted directly, dealt with properly, and not overly belabored. This is definitely a "physicist's book"; people with weak backgrounds in applied mathematics or quantum mechanics may want to review these topics before plunging in. But if you have the background, you'll be pleased to know that someone has finally covered the subject the way it should be covered.

I've been looking for this book for several months and finally got the courage to buy two used books through Amazon. I was impressed with the speed of delivery and with the excellent condition of each of the copies. I will use this method again.

In regard to the text itself, I found the stories to be simply and clearly written and since I teach playwriting as part of a theatre curriculum, know that the texts will be easily adapted as classroom exercises. Additionally, the easy to follow format makes writing study guides easy. There is no doubt that the included Shakespearian stories will be understood and remembered by the students.

Useful for gaining entry into the literature

I'm not entirely sure why I'm bothering to write this review, since at $500, only corporate and academic libraries can afford to buy this set of books.

Well, anyway, it's hard to rate a book like this. It's not really an encyclopedia, despite the title. It's more like a crash-course on the state-of-the-art in a variety of fields. If you are a graduate student or an engineer who rapidly needs to find out what's going on in the field of, say, association rule learning or fuzzy clustering or unsupervised discretization or microarray mining, this is a good place to start. You can probably find an article here on your topic of interest, and that article will probably have references to the recent important papers in the field (although the references may be skewed toward publications by the article's author and his colleagues.) I obtained these books from my university's library and I found them to be a quick way to track down a bunch of recent papers on the topics I was interested in. However, beyond providing these references, I can't say that the actual articles in the collection are very helpful... they are generally very short, and in the few cases where they actually contain any substance, it is often a condensed version of the author's own work. (There are some exceptions.)

With regard to the design of the book(s), they could have done a lot better. The consistency of the articles varies pretty widely (which probably can't be helped), but the type-setting and editing also leave something to be desired; in many cases, equations and graphics do not look professionally typeset. The organization of the articles is perplexing at best. The articles are arranged alphabetically by title, but the titles do not seem to have undergone any editorial review. Therefore we end up with "Microarray Data Mining" on p.728 and "Mining Microarray Data" on p.810, separated by 14 other articles. There are a large number of other examples like this, as well as a substantial number of titles that begin with "Data Mining..." or "Mining...," which makes the alphabetical organization of the book fairly unhelpful. There are no cross-references between articles, and the index is also very weak, since it only indexes words that appear in the "key terms" section of each article. Therefore, in order to find all the articles on your topic of interest, your only real recourse is to scan through the entire table of contents. (It seems that in our modern era of fully-searchable online documents, people are forgetting some important aspects of making usable printed reference books.)

Finally, the copy that I obtained (which was probably just recently purchased by the library) has one page which is not at all attached to the binding. It was not ripped out -- it was just never attached. I have never seen this with any other book at any price (let alone in the $500 range!). I don't know what kind of binding operation they used on this, but I think that a $500 book set should come with all the pages attached.

This book is an interesting look at genetics, heredity and our understanding of these sciences and what they mean, or should mean, to our planet and our daily lives. The author gives a very clear history of genetic theory, cloning and the Human Genome Project. This book should be read by anyone who needs better knowledge of this topic, which is just about all of us.
