My 4 year old has been asking about God, why he can't see him. This is a good book to peak his interest. We've read it several times since we received it.

My son loves this book. He is intrigued by stars and all things sky-related, anyway, and this book ties that in well with a simple teaching about how God never leaves us. The part about the toy being lost hits close to home, too, since my son knows what it's like to not be able to find his "stuffed friend!"
The only thing I wasn't crazy about is the strange bear-like character who actually tells the story. He is somewhat strange, and my son was a little bit turned off by him.

I found this book to have information on rules, techniques and terminology to understand the game. It includes most common offical signals, types of kicks and basic NFL offensive formations. It give a clear diagram of the field and description of the areas. I found it helpful in learning about foot ball. Good reference book.

This was a great guide for a recent trip to Spain; both I and my young daughter thouroughly enjoyed looking through the photos...sometimes when I couldn't find the book, I'd look in her room and she'd have fallen asleep with it in her hands--no doubt dreaming of adventures to come! The info within is limited to Andalucia, so be aware of this if your travels take you beyond the borders of Southern Spain.

very useful case studies. Based on actual events and which bring to life the tensions and misunderstandings inherent in cross culture negotiations. These are very useful for class exercises. PS As an instructor I would like to get hold of an instructors handbook but have not at the time of writing this short review, succeedded.

Though this was a typical tale of broken-hearted man and fresh-faced miss, it is so well written that it became new again! It even portrayed the raising of the children during that time so well (sometimes seen but never heard)! St. Clair's personality wonderfully came alive. Even his changing nature at the end was brilliant because after all - he was struggling against his own nature. Kate was a nice change of pace too. Fresh faced, plain speaking daughter of an Irish doctor, you knew she would be lively. All the secondary characters and stories were well thought-out and were enjoyable too.
A realistic tale where everyone acted mature (even high-spirited Kate knew when to hold her tongue) and very evenly told. Do not miss this one!!

The book "key management models" is an useful guide to 90% of the most read and applied administration philosophy. Is is both a good starting point to understand the context and a way to refresh your memory for the ones that have read it decades ago.
But one should not expect to learn it all from this book as it summarizes a 200 pages book in 3 pages.
Finally the last comments on the application of the philosophy are fair and, from my experience on some of the topics, very close to the day-to-day business reality.

As a former Chicago public school teacher, I can vouch for the truth of many of Walsh's statements about the failures of the school system and the impotence of the Chicago Teacher's Union. Most importantly, her ideas about teacher empowerment are ones that are relevant to teachers everywhere in the US, especially considering the present push towards teacher "accountability", measured almost entirely by questionable standardized tests, which many want to use as an excuse to punish teachers and schools with the highest level of low-income students. We need teachers, not bureaucrats and politicians, deciding how children need to be educated, and we need teachers to describe the problems inherent in many schools and to express their ideas on possible solutions. The book is also a story of someone who learns from life's experiences and a study of an intelligent, dynamic and caring educator. I know Deborah Lynch Walsh; she is an honest person with ideas that need to be given credence and more publicity. Her concern certainly comes across in her book, which I found interesting and readable.

When I was in my teens I had to read this book from Uslar Pietri as "homework". The man is a genious storyteller. The way the characters come to life in this novela touches every fiber of your heart. To undesrtand Venezuela is to understand his/her writers, what best example of a venezuelan masterpiece with "Lanzas Coloradas".It is a detailed account of the Venezuela already gone and past during the time of the colonies. Is a description of the liberating efforts of Simon Bolivar during the tumultuos years of Independence.A must read.

Karl is definately on to something. Not only is his writing more defined and cleaned up, his research has expanded as well. To help explain his points Karl uses a composite story of events that happened in actual lives of compulsive liars. Very well done and very well put together. If you are interested in compulsive lying this is definately a source of information you want to pick up.

This is the classic work on lectio divina, a way of incorporating sacred reading in prayer. While not a how-to manual, this little book outlines four steps in lectio divina: reading, meditation, prayer, and contemplation. Guigo also provides an easily-understood rationale for this way of prayer.
