I'll openly admit to being biased on this book, as one of the three writers is my younger brother Damien.

Like the British, Irish people have a blinding sense of humour and a healthy knack of taking the piss out of both of our country's respective lunacies. Set up in Ireland for fun in 1997, Blather.net is an Internet site that does exactly that - it features ballbreakingly funny articles about varying things that get on the tits of Irish people. The Irish Press quickly picked up on it of course - producing several of the better stories - and it snowballed from there. The 140 pages of this book feature 29 of their best posts.

If you find that titles like "Unidentified Feckin' Objects", "Most of The Internet Is About Bobby Darin" and "Irishwoman Deafened By Ticking Of Her Own Biological Clock" already have you giggling, then you get the general idea. My personal favourites are "IRA Announces Massive Redundancies" in which the Peace Process and market forces (influx of Euro terrorists who'll do the job cheaper) have left the boys proclaiming, "...we simply can't compete". I almost wet my Shamrock-shaped Y-fronts at "Clontarf-Based Science Team Find The Clitoris" - which was (we're reliably informed) located in the back of a Fiat Punto on Dollymount Beach.

What's great of course about so many of these life vignettes is the delicious irreverence of them - especially in the face of so much po-faced political correctness nowadays. You can't help but feel that the world desperately needs a laugh like this.

If I was to bring up a downside, it's that the posts often came with equally funny visuals and none are reproduced here - hopefully they'll get that rectified with the next print run.

Irreverent, clever, insightful and very funny - you should treat yourself to this book. In truth, I found myself with it in Soho Square on Kirsty MacColl's commemorative bench giggling like a loon at lunchtime. And when a very nice lady from Toronto couldn't resist anymore and asked me what I was chortling at, I had to tell her the awful truth. I've a younger brother who's funnier and smarter than I am.

Sequence of kids, from stone age to present,
misplace items on errand to their respective
grandparents. On losing his own item, each
finds item lost by previous kid, and the found
item becomes a treasure.

Big pictures with many details tell the story
almost as completely as the narration. The illustrations
actually fill in quite a bit of the story that would
be awkward to put into kid-accessible prose. The
illustrations seem to have a dialogue with the
text, when the same geographic features are called
by different names, or new features are named for the
landscape they replace.

This book is a precious book for children of all ages. As a mother and teacher I recomend this book.

This is a very nice book to give to a teacher. It has a wonderful story, and the pictures are so cute and meaningful - like all of those by this writer of childrens' books. I highly recommend it.

I was interested in the music and so I tried to read the lyrics. It's a very challenging test of your Latin skills. Very deep and profound. A priest friend of mine really liked it, too.

This book taught me how much God really loves me...I highly recommend it to anybody struggling with the question if God really loves them...His love is unconditional...We cannot fathom how much He loves us...This book is A MUST! I praise God for using Sheila Walsh to touch my life...

If you are looking to loose weight for good, this book is the answer. I weighed 100lbs when I got married 10 years ago but 3 kids later etc, etc I had gained an extra 30lbs and was not happy. I followed the steps in this book and have lost over 18lbs and feel AMAZING! I feel like I'm 19 again. This book totally laid out every single step to take and was super easy to read and understand. If you follow the book you will get results. I love that it's an organized step by step plan, not just idealizm.

This book has a primary-looking cover, but it's not just for primary grades! It begins with directions on how to make general student books with hard or cloth covers. Then it shows some basic shape books and how to make them. Patterns are included. What's really neat about this book is that there are ideas on how to apply or adapt the pictured shape book to a variety of content areas and themes. Literature suggestions are also listed. I wasn't sure this was the thing for a 5th grade class, but after borrowing this book for a day, I was ready to buy one of my own! Even if I don't use the ideas shown, the book inspires me with new ideas for applications. Student-published books are so appealing and fun to do. I can't wait to show my students how to do these!

I really enjoyed this book. I read a wide range of genres and found this collection to be both entertaining and thought provoking. I strongly suggest this book and the "Manic Expression Volume I." Both are wonderful reads - together they are amazing!

this book is of great detail and it helped me beat the game. but it doesn't leave anything secret, so don't get it if you like finding things out on your own/.
