I could only recommend one!

As a new teacher, I am a firm believer of hands-on activities; as the saying goes, "I do, and I understand." While beginning
a unit on space, I wanted to make it as concrete as I could, and my kids are now able to understand some very abstract concepts
- thanks to the activities in this book. Most of these activities can be modified for students of all levels; for higher-level
students, teachers could get into inertia, air pressure,... My kids really loved the activity that proves how rockets work.
All of the activites use materials that you already have at home.

most memorable book ever read to me

I am a 42 year old man, with two daughters. I am the youngest of my parents' three sons. "Cowboy and His Friend", (1961 1st.ed.)
is the first book that I remember being read to me as a child. This book was purchased for my oldest brother, but it immediately
became a family favorite.
My father, a hard worker, often coming home after dinner had been served, would sometimes arrive home to find his three sons in pajamas, ready or getting ready for bed. He would, at that time, (1968 or so), ask if I wanted to hear a story, which I always I did. (The question was directed to me, but sometimes Bobby and Stephen; the two "olders" would horn in). My father would invariably pull out "Cowboy and His Friend", not only because we loved it but also because he loved it. I would always sit next to my father; still in his suit, smelling of "office things", he would begin by reading every word in the book, including, as he annoyingly continues to do today at age 83, the frontispiece and all the copyright and publishing information preceding the actual story.
When my father would finish reading this book, there was often be a long silence after the book was closed. It took me a small child, some time figure out that this prolonged silence was because my father was unable to speak after reading the book, as very often his voice was choked with emotion and tears were in his face.
Because my family's copy was promised to my oldest brother, I just purchased my own copy, an exact 1961 original printing.
"Cowboy and His Friend" is the most memorable book I have ever read or had read to me. Only "To Kill a Mockingbird" has come remotely close to "Cowboy and his Friend" to being a threat to it in my hierarchy of things. The simplistic sweetness of the prose and the universal exploits of the boy coupled with the innocence of the boy and his friend and the timeless illustrations have lingered in my mind for the past 20 odd years since I last read my parents copy ; that is until today, when my magnificent own original 1961 edition arrived in the mail.
In reading my new old copy, I am transformed in time and place back to the old familiar couch and sitting next to my Father, as he read the wonderful story of a little boy with an imaginary Bear, doing what little boys do, playing football, eating ice cream, etc. Truth to tell, I did not know until I was an adult that the Bear was imaginary. I finally realized that was what Ms. Anglund had done by drawing the "real life" of the book in black and only the Bear was drawn in brown. When I finished reading my copy just now, for the first time, I did not cry, but I had to wait a minute to compose myself prior to leaving for my appointments
This is a wonderful, wonderful book for children and even more so for the adults who, as child were read this book by a loved one. The original printings are getting scarce, I urge all who know of this book, or of Ms. Anglund's work either as a child or an adult reading to a child of today, to get at the very least a 2002 paperback re-print copy via Amazon.com
God bless Amazon for helping me find a book I have searched for for many years.

A lesson in obedience...and bats! My son (also named Will) loves these books. This one is a real treat because it deals with
the beach, bats and obedeince all in one. 'Will' learns to follow his Grandpa's instruction when he's told not to go into
a creepy cave. After he goes in anyway (and gets hurt), he's quickly turned around and afraid, admiting to himself (and his
trusty dog) that perhaps he should have listened to his Grandpa. Sheila Walsh writes great books that offer God's wisdom to
our little kids. Great book with cute illustrations- I can't wait for books by Ms. Walsh!

So often as I read books about the participants of World War II, I get all the technical information I can ever need. However,
a book like this allows me (one who has never served, and is in constant awe at the people of this generation who did so without
questioning) to get a glimpse of the personal side of the men who fought. In this unique volume I can read the actual thoughts
of Jerry Walsh as he goes through the Pacific Theater of War. A must read for all WWII historians interested in the real
stories of history.

When the textbook came out, it was considered quite advanced in the concepts concerning dental hygiene diagnosis, treatment
plans, and care. Now that these concepts are finally being considered mainstream, the textbook still delivers the information
needed for not only basic dental hygiene care, but restorative and pain control care. I hope that the next edition covers
more in the area of ultrasonics and the latest in periodontal disease technology in diagnosis and care. Knowing the level
of excellence in this textbook, I am sure it will be included.

I found this book to be a quick and easy read, and found it to be so helpful, it went on my Christmas list. I gave out thirteen
copies to friends, coworkers, and members of my Bible Study! As you go through an experience it can be a daunting, as well
as isolating experience. This book lets you know that God is right behind you with open arms, and that you can turn and lean
on His strength, regardless of the circumstances of your trial.

"A Dilemma Of English Modernism" should be considered as a core addition

Compiled and edited by Michael J. K. Walsh (Associate Professor of Art History, Eastern Mediterranean University, Northern
Cyprus), "A Dilemma Of English Modernism: Visual And Verbal Politics In The Life And Work Of C. R. W. Nevinson (1889-1946)
is a survey of the three-and-a-half decade career of the English artist C. R. W. Nevinson. This was a man who made his reputation
as the most important, controversial, and influential artist in London during the years of the Roaring Twenties and the Jazz
Age. Nevinson subsequently came into conflict with the Royal Academy, Fascism, and the elitism manifesting during the years
of the Great Depression. "A Dilemma Of English Modernism" is more than a simple recapping of his biography, it is an impressive
and scholarly collection of nine new and important essays illuminating one of the icons of post-World War I English Modernism.
Enhanced with an informative introduction by Michael J. K. Walsh, and an appendix by Sir Osbert Sitwell, as well as a selected
bibliography, notes on the contributors, and an index, "A Dilemma Of English Modernism" should be considered as a core addition
to art department and academic library European Art History reference collections and supplemental reading lists.
