This is a great study of the various factors which have determined the location of the ports, and an informative account of the main divisions of shipping trade by which functional utilization of ports is determined. The author was the late F. W. Morgan who was a lecturer in Geography at the London School of Economics and Political Science, and this edition has additional information from James Bird, who was a lecturer in Geography at the University of London King's College. It is edited by Professor S. W. Woolridge and Professor W. G. East, both who were at the University of London. The book includes many helpful tables, maps, and diagrams.

If you're a toy collector (and if you're not, why are you reading this???) you will really enjoy leafing through this book. It isn't all inclusive, by any means, but it gives a very nice overview of the subject and is LOADED with large color photographs. Even my wife liked looking at them -- and that's saying something! There are several tables and a list of manufacturers in the back and an index. Well worth a few bucks.

This is my second copy of this book. I misplaced the first copy and could not rest until I obtained another. At first, I utilized the Potter's House for my own personal journey and understanding of God's purpose and process for my life. Now, I use this manuscript to assist with the development of sermons, church school curriculum and identifying where sisters and brothers in Christ may be in their process of servant development. I recommend this book for new Christians and seasoned Christians alike. You will not be disappointed.

Mohr (Professor of Philosophy, University of Illinois, Urbana-Champaign) scrutinizes the works of three of America's most fervent nineteenth century potters. Black-and-white and full color photographs of the sensual, masterfully wrought works add a visual complement to the thoughtful studies of these classic art pieces, responding to the message of the creators' selves within the pieces. A work of superbly presented scholarship, Pottery, Politics, Art is very highly recommended for mature pottery connoisseurs and academic "Art History" collections.

A well-respected more mature work than his famous dramatized novel about Judah ben Hur and Christ, which was written following its success after Lew was Minister to Turkey. However, it also deserves your attention and the motion-picture screenplay adaptation is available (ISBN 1-895507-82-0 ...).

I absolutley loved reading this book. As a soon to be rookie principal, this book not only inspired me but taught me more throughout its pages than most college classes ever dreamed about. From beginning to end every scenerio was right on target of what every administrator will experience at some point. Staying true to your faith and family and being a servant to others are all keys elements that are discussed. I plan on keeping this book in the top drawer of my desk just in case I get in a situation where I need to call on John's words of wisdom for assistance or inspiration to get me through the day!

I am a graduate student working on a PhD, and my emphasis is in tox/clinical sciences. This book is an excellent reference for anyone who wishes to exand their knowledge in tox theory and methodology! It's on my top shelf, right beside Casarett and Doulls. The organizational approach to this book is great, and pertinent examples are given in every section. Applause, applause.
