This book is an excellent book to carry when your scouring for carnival glass, It's paperback, yet has hundreds of color pictures for easy identification, especially European purchases. It also has brief histories of the major manufacturers of carnival and several detailed drawings as well as suggested prices. I highly recommend it!!

This book is a must read for the beginning and intermediate duck decoy collector. The book includes a wealth of information on collecting old decoys, where to find them, different types and styles of decoys, how to value decoys, how decoys are constructed and what to do once you have started your collection (insurance concerns and displaying/care concerns). One of the most useful chapters in this book deals with the topic of identifying fakes and decoys that may have undergone alterations. This book should not be confused with a decoy reference book...there are carvers mentioned by region in the book and the book does have a substantial number of color and black and white photos of decoys but on a much more limited scale then true decoy reference books. The Appendix is loaded with information on professional decoy restorers, decoy book dealers, books and magazines for decoy collectors, decoy auction houses, decoy collecting clubs and museums that contain decoy collections (please note though that this book does have a 1992 copywrite so that some of the information provided in the Appendix may not be current).

Wallace Nutting pictures are still (and temporarily) plentiful at all the online auction houses. This book will definitely protect you in the forest of sellers and allow you to wend you way through acquisitions without bumping your head or losing your wallet. Gives a good grounding in the world of buying and selling Wallace Nutting Photos. What sizes, what titles, what's there, how rare, how much, etc. Don't go to the auction without it! Very well done and very complete.

words. Although Amazon lists it as out of print and difficult to find, it is available

Mr. Wallace's studies of Philadelphia's colonial architectural legacy are a must for any self-respecting architect, preservationist, or metalsmith. This reprint is yet another credit to Dover's publishing effort.

HEY WHAT A FIND, THIS BOOK REALLY TELLS THE STORYS OF INTERRACIAL DATING. REALLY GOOD SUMMER READ, I HIGHLY RECOMMEND. WOW

I really enjoyed this book. You really start to get "into" the characters, which makes for really good reading. It makes you think about how hard it must have been to have been born into a predjudiced world where you were judged by the color of your skin, and how the human spirit can rise above that even when things (and people) seem to be against you. I'm hoping the author writes some sequels. ~~~ Carol
