This book has helped me to understand warfare prayer on a greater level. NOt only is it filled with practical data and experiences, but it is also biblically sound. Dr. Wagner has succeeded in informing intercessors and aspiring intercessors to strategically take back what belongs to the LORD.

My interest has come to be warfare prayer in many areas. I use it in the areas of prayer for: elders and ministers, petitions, personal and many others. I have found this book to be extremely useful for this. It gives you not only basic help for how to do this type of prayer, it also gives you Scriptural backing for why. It also underscores how important prayer is in the life of the Christian. The book also gives some guidelines on how to do warfare prayer, if you should be doing warfare and other such topics. I would recommend this book for anyone that is interested in doing warfare prayer and would also recommend it to congregations as a tool for having warfare prayer as part of their prayer ministry.

1. Is this an in depth presentation?
This book is a ground breaking study on territorial principalities and power and how to engage in spiritual warfare against them. Dr. Wagner draws from many real life examples, but readily admits that we have only begun scratching the surface and that a lot more study and maturing is necessary with regards to the understanding of strategic level warfare principles.
2. Did I agree with the way that the author interprets scripture?
In many instances in the book the author points out that one of the primary objections against strategic level warfare is that there is no specific mandate in the bible that it should be done. This has also been my primary concern with regards to strategic level warfare. The author devotes a large section of his book addressing this issue. In Chapter 5 (Territoriality then and now) the author argues that throughout the old and new testament it was taken for granted that certain spirits ruled over certain geographical areas. He uses many scriptural references in the hope that together they will form a coherent picture. Though difficult for our post-modern minds to accept I do agree with Dr. Wagner. The next question that automatically follows after accepting the fact that there are spirits assigned to territories is: "Do we have the authority to come against them?" Once again Dr. Wagner makes a very convincing case that God is raising up certain people to do exactly that in Chapter 7.
3. Was there any new information?
This book was almost entirely new information to me. The most useful information in this book is that which is presented in chapters 6, 9 and 10. In chapter 6 the author gives the preconditions of a Christian who wants to get involved in strategic level warfare. They are:
* Submitting to God - seeing him as Lord.
* Drawing near to God - having a vital prayer life.
* Cleansing our hands and our hearts - living holy lives (though we do not have to be perfect).
In chapter 9 the author gives 6 rules for taking a city for Christ. They are:
* Identifying an appropriate are (well boundaried and not to large)
* Getting the pastors of that area to stand in unity and regularly pray for the area.
* Getting the entire body of Christ involved (not just the Charismatics or Pentocostals)
* Prepare spiritually as described in Chapter 6.
* Prepare strategically by researching the area in terms of past history, sins of the people in that area and also by using the spiritual gift of discernment.
* Involve intercessors that have been gifted to do battle on this level of warfare.
In chapter 10 the author gives a list of potential pitfalls to be avoided:
* Being ignorant of the concept of spiritual warfare or the danger involved in spiritual warfare
* Being fearful of the enemy.
* Underestimating the enemy.
* Overestimating yourself and being arrogant in spiritual warfare.
* Not being covered in prayer by fellow warriors.
* Not waiting on God and not being guided by Him in warfare prayer.
* Being impatient and running ahead of God's timing.
4. What impact did the book have on me?
The book inspired me to seek God for an increase in personal holiness. It also made me think of the spiritual powers assigned to my own life and my family in general. It has inspired me to pray for discernment for knowing what they are and guidance in praying against them.

Of the three books in the Wedding Legacy, this one is the most serious--Corrie's childhood, characterized by multiple foster home placements and no sense of security, makes it very hard for her to trust anyone. She, more than her sisters, has serious obstacles to get around before she gets to "happily ever after." Occasionally I felt like she was a little too hard on herself even AFTER she had figured everything out! Matt, her hero, is a (real) cowboy, patient, kind, and trying hard, and you gotta love him. You gotta love any guy willing to let his orphaned nephew call him Auntie simply because that's what the kid started out doing. For those who've read the other two books, it's here we get the final word on how the sisters became separated. Best supporting actor award here goes to a cantankerous donkey. I mean it.
Another book (series) about triplets.

Back Cover description: "I PRAYED FOR YOU TO COME." From the moment the little boy next door whispered those words in her ear, Corrie Parsons knew she was hooked-but good! For she had come to Miracle Harbor to claim the ranch she had inherited, a home to call her own. And it was all hers-for the price of a wedding ring. Too bad the sexy cowboy who came with that little boy wanted her land-not her. But Matt Donahue's heated gaze told another story. About a man who longed for love just as much as Corrie did. About a husband who could make her wedding dreams come true-if only he believed.
There are two other books in this group-THE WEDDING LEGACY. I haven't read them yet, and this is the third. It starts out slightly annoying. Corrie inherits a ranch, she has no idea what she's doing and won't take advice. I can't stand it when authors do that. Can't they think of any other avenue to generate tension between lead characters? Anyway, it does get better, so I gave it 3 stars.

Worst Case Scenarios

Review Date: 2008-07-01
The book covers some classic worst case scenarios.
For instance, how does a person control a mob of
people seemingly out of control. The preferred method
is to stand above the mob and view it as a single
unit. Show no fear and stroke the ego of individuals
present. There is a section describing playground
politics and strategies to handle the phenomenon.
The author covers strategies aimed at working in a
hostile room. Plan your exit and harmonize with the
people present. There is a section which explains
how to give a toast at a formal dinner.
Occasionally, unique anecdotes are provided. For instance,
Beethoven changed the name of a musical piece from
the Bonaparte Symphony to Heroic. In 1872, a drunk man
was given a year in jail for herding cows while drunk.
The work is a bit of an oddity in a world of books
which address more mundane things. For this reason,
the presentation is interesting and challenging.
I'm not certain whether or not everyone would enjoy
this book because of the unusual content.

The After-Christmas Tree is the story, told though a child, of a party their family gave after the Christmas Tree came down. The idea of the party was to gather friends and family, decorate the old tree with goodies that birds and other wildlife would like and set the three out. The story line is simple as is the writing. The art work, by Susan Davis, is quite good in an idealized sort of way. This is a nice little christmas book for the very young child. It is a nice read along book.

When it's time to take down the Christmas tree, don't let the "end of holiday blues" strike your children. Read this story and then continue the Christmas spirit of giving by decorating your discarded Christmas tree for the birds (and any other creatures searching for food in the dead of the winter!) A great family book and activity. Also a great activity for Kindergarten teachers to use when students return from Christmas vacation!

Ten complete operas: Flying Dutchman, Tannhauser, Lohengrin, Tristan&Isolde, Meistersinger, Parsifal; and the series of four Ring operas: Rheingold, Walkure, Siegfried, Gotterdammerung :)
"Complete with English and German parallel texts and music of the principal airs."
My copy is the 1938 Crown edition, which is hardback in Red boards with gold-colored lettering and decoration on spine, 470 pp.
Some of the best music CD's of Wagner operas are older and cheaper budget sets which do not come packaged with booklets. Well then this volume will serve as a replacement translation text to read while listening...
Wagner's earliest 3 are missing, not having been considered important enough for inclusion: Die Feen, Rienze, Das Liebesverbot :(

This is a nice collection of the libretti of the Wagner operas. It's nice to have everything in one place rather than multiple libretti. Only only complaint is the small print, which gets hard to read as I age.

Fr. Wynn's book is well-written and very entertaining. It is NOT an official catechism of the Liberal Catholic Church, it is one priest's view. Some members of the Church, lay and clergy, would agree with everything he says, most would agree with some of what he says.
Another review of this work prepared for Amazon contains false statements. There was a split in the Liberal Catholic movement in this country in the 1950's. The present Liberal Catholic Church International was sued by another group over ownership of the Cathedral in Los Angeles, although the underlying dispute was an attempt by the then Presiding Bishop in England to impose a Regionary Bishop over the United States without the consent of the clergy, as required in the Church's Constitution. The trial court ruled that the Liberal Catholic Church is now the body sometimes called the Liberal Catholic Church International. The LCCI has nine parochial bodies in this country, two of which are, indeed, home churches. However the LCCI has more members than all the other groups combined.
Since writing the catechism, Fr. Wynn has left the LCCI to pursue other interests.

I became interested in the Liberal Catholic Church many years ago because of the writings of Helena Petrovna Blavatsky, around whom the Theosophical Society was formed, and one of her followers, Archbishop Charles W, Leadbeater. _A_Catechism_ takes us through the meanings and symbols of the Liberal Catholic Church in a common sense way so that we learn about the Church without being forced to change the beliefs we may already hold. I deeply appreciate the clean and simple writing style in which Fr Wynn Wagner III, OST, explains things in a way that makes spiritual and religious growth understandable and enjoyable.

If you are mired down in a course on statistics and/or probability and you need a quick guide for getting the up and down of it all then use this book. It explains the ideas in a succinct and easy to understand fashion. If there is something in here you do not understand then it is a good sign you need to seek out someone to explain it to you. This will certainly help you get ready to handle the thinking involved in basic probability context. If you have not taken stats or probability yet, then this book will give you what you need to actually enjoy the work that is ahead of you.
The one downside for college students is that this book is at the high school level. So it will not by itself take you through the rigor you will need to meet a decent college level exam/lecture. There is another book called "Probabilities The little Numbers That Rule Our Lives" by Peter Oloffsson that delves into the deeper subtleties in a conversational manner. In other words, training for thinking through the foundations of the tough problems, lectures, and exam questions.

This is a nice, short, clearly written, and amply illustrated introduction to probability. As the subtitle says, this book is intended as a primer - a first exposure to the topic. It would be suitable for high school students and anyone who wants to develop a basic understanding of the concepts involved in probability.
The book uses examples from games of chance (gambling), sports, and everyday life. The solutions to the problems are provided in the back, so it is a book that can be used for self-study - I consider this a huge plus.
Probability is a topic that should be more widely understood in our society. This book can begin the journey to that understanding for anyone who wants to gain an understanding of this vital subject.

A colleague shared this book with me to help explain some meaty aspect of RCRA. I finally understand what is required so that I can talk intelligently with the regulators. I subsequently went out and purchased my own copy. This book is great as a reference. I highly recommend you obtain a copy if you are as mystified by the RCRA regs as most of us are.
Bravo!

A great reference book for those needing to decipher hazardous waste regulatory jargon. I've wasted my money on other so-called interpretive guides, which merely summarized the law. Ho hum. Wagner's book goes much further to explain and decipher the regulations, not just the law. Very helpful!

I am an avid reader of both Secular and Christian fiction, and of Christian non-fiction and I thoroughly enjoyed this book. I couldn't wait to sit down and read it again. Not only was it written extremely well, but it also keeps your attention because of the shocking way that people of the jungle in Bolivia lived. There are miracles abounding in this book, and I found it a great strength of encouragement in my daily walk with God. You see through this book how satan can reign when there is no real knowledge of God, so thankfully missionary's are willing to risk their lives and the comfort of home to reach these lost tribes!

okay i'm reviewing this w/ an 8 year old's eyes-back when my uncle wrote this book and before he launched himself into his hard core church growth and spritual warfare mode-he wrote this book as a dedicated missionary of the gospel.i have no room any longer for any of the religious nonsense that accompanies my family's lives-however, i very much loved this book as a child and thought my uncle one fine guy.i should probably re-read this book-but, i think it best to let the memories live on.he doesn't need this review to continue writing or selling his books anyway.
