This widely respected book is the only example I am aware of to combine botanical and naturalistic information with silvicultural and timber usage notes.
The most useful book on the subject that I am aware of.

It gets 5 stars because it's an excellent effort to catalog and chronicle Old Florida's Finest killed in action. The author put a lot of work in this reference book, and it shows. It's a dandy addition to Floridiana.

But he felt, what?, compelled to include a PC disclaimer that the people he's celebrating were, gasp, racists and members of the KKK in some instances. The good Doctor needs to read some of Abe Lincoln's comments if he wants 'racist.' It would be a good thing if PC perfessers of the 21st Century would resist the urge to judge past times with our standards.

Otherwise, the book is a must have.

This book is packed full of Family, County, Schools, Church histories and just about everything that pertains to Franklin County. It is packed full of photos.
A must have for Franklin County familys' and genealogist alike.

This is a classic. Turner provides a revolutionary perspective for the US and South Africa grounded in the thought of Fanon.

Today I had the honor of traveling to Louisville, Kentucky and viewing the Frederick Hart exhibit "Giving Form To Spirit" and all I can say is the late Mr. Hart was surely among the most profoundly talented sculptors to live in our times. For his work on the Vietnam Memorial, the National Cathedral, and for his careful crafting of scores of more intimate pieces, Hart touched the human soul even as he dazzled the human mind. After seeing more than a hundred of his works in person, I can tell you that the level of artistry present in the photographs inside The Complete Works does justice to Frederick Hart's physical sculptures. It is an impressive collection that pays homage to a great talent, and even at a steep seventy-dollars is absolutely worth adding to your home library.

A great book to read to young children or for older children to read themselves. A very non-preachy way to teach ethics and generosity in this day and age of selfishness and spontaneous bad decision-making!

This is a must have for Kahlo fans out there. She's talented. She's beautiful. She's fierce.

As I say, this is a job well done. The story of the discovery and excavation of La Belle is presented in a way that keeps you interested. I have visited 5 of the 7 locations where artifacts from La Belle are housed. The story of the expedition itself is a great read, and the discovery and excavation is even more so. Also there is the great photography. All around a very fine book.
