I am so pleased to find such a comprehensive review of Bomber pilots and crew of WWI and WWII. Our family has searched for information regarding my uncle who was a B-17 pilot killed in WWII. David is included in this book. He is our Hero. Many families such as ours have lost loved ones who have fought for our liberty. We need to continue to fight for liberty for our children and grandchildren.

The book discusses the actor's early career, an open marriage, bisexual encounters, and raising two children in an environment of fame. Denholm Elliott ultimately becomes AIDS infected. The story then describes his physical deterioration and hardships a PWA succumbs. Honestly written and meant to inform, not self promote.

It would be impossible to read this book and not be a more knowledgable dental patient. It answers all of the queations that a dental patient would like to know in a straight forward and easy to understand manner.

This book is full of pearls that dental staff members would enjoy. It takes less than 1 hour to read---an hour well spent.

The field of Human Computer Interaction spans a gamut of disciplines, which can be readily appreciated by this book. There is an interplay which of course involves technology as the most obvious factor. The ability to design hardware and software is crucial. Software is covered more fully than hardware, with several chapters on information spaces. A reflection of software being more malleable than hardware, at least in principle.

Website design gets its share of attention, with the primary problem being one of navigating easily through a website.

Electronic communication modalities are also covered. Email, certainly. But Instant Messaging and video-based modes also. Where the latter elides into the concept of a CAVE or 3d immersive environment. If you are already into one of the Massive Multiplayer games, then some of the ideas will be familiar.

But the text also devotes space to the psychology of the humans who will be using such systems. There is a brief recap of cognitive psychology; mostly to discuss various models of perception and memory retention. This matters when designing systems, like virtual reality devices or even just a "normal" 2d GUI.

Of all the chapters, the biggest stretch seems to be that on affective computing. This involves inducing emotions like pleasure or disgust in a user. Or simulating it in a software agent with which you interact. I'm not saying the chapter is wrong, mind you. But that for many readers, it will be a far remove from whatever systems design considerations you have to work with.

Get it for your little daughter or son, niece or nephew, for an illustrated adventure series they will treasure for life.

George Turner's *The Destiny Makers* is set in the same future as his award-winning novel *Drowning Towers* (aka *The Sea and Summmer* in Australia/UK). Harry Ostrov is a detective in a future Melbourne that is slowly dying of overpopulation, rising sea levels, pollution and corporate greed. In this crowded world there are many crimes, but one worse than any other: life extension.

Ostrov investigates a case of an old man who is mysteriously becoming younger...the complication is that the old man is a former State Premier, with political connections much too hot for a mere detective.

Turner's portrayal of a near-future Australia is compelling: he was writing about global warming and climate change before many scientists even recognised there was a problem. But Turner's particular strength is in characterisation - each of his characters is a well-formed individual - and subtly enough drawn that it's impossible to find any character who is entirely "good" or "bad".

Foreign readers might not know that George Turner won the Miles Franklin Award (the top Australian novel award) for his *literary* fiction, before he 'went over to the dark side' and started writing science fiction. Thank goodness he never looked back.

I was on one of these DEs and I did not know all of the things these great little ships did,it made me proud to have served on one.

With more and more minority students seeking an education in a world where science and technology is all around us, this textbook attempts to simplify science by developing various concepts. The text uses everday experiences and analogies to help students gain an appreciation for science. The authors have done a very good job of condensing years of scientific knowledge into a single text designed for a one semester course for all students regardless of level. I recommend this text for all students, particularly non-science majors, because of the increased impact that science and technology have and continue to have on all citizens of the world in the 21st century.

This is the best book out there on how to build a golf driving range. It is the only book available about golf ranges written by actual owners. It tells you what makes a good location, how to do your own market study, the best design, the cost to build, and what equipment you will need. This book saved me from making a lot of mistakes and thousands of dollars. Plus, the writers will even spend time with you on the phone to answer any questions you may have. Highly recommended if you are even thinking about getting into the range business.
