I am sure that when this book left the seller it was in greaat condition, however the way it was packed or handled, the book was bent and the cover was broken. I am hoping this is not how all of their books are sent out, and this accident should be seen as such.

This is not what we thought it would be. No where does it say it is a book for a computer related course. We were trying to find out metal fabrication information books.... This is not a guide...

This is a book that you would get for free in your Autodesk package. Very dry run down tutorials. It took me an hour to go through 100 pgs. and get 2 usefull things out of it (1 per 50 pgs. to help you with the math). It probably took even less time to write it. (Sorry if I offended Travis and Neil but take pride in your creations, step back and see if you can actually follow and like what you did).

But anyways, book is going back, don't recomend it, I only gave it one extra star just to be nice.

I really can't imagine what the authors of this book were thinking. The tests they present are almost completely unlike the real GRE in question style, selection, and difficulty. A verbal test here, for instance, will have two reading passages crammed at the end, each of which is only a paragraph or two long and written at a high school level. The real GRE has much longer passages, which are far more complicated and include nuanced questions of intent and meaning. You won't find that here. Download POWERPREP from the GRE site and get the Princeton Review book. Those are tools with some real relevance to the GRE...

I think there's something wrong with this...

Let me put it this way: On the first practice test I got a 98% (790) in the analytical section. On the second, my results were 44% (500). Gee, that's a pretty big gap, especially for someone who does fairly complicated logic puzzles in under fifteen minutes. Either I'm going crazy (which is entirely possible) or this book is dreadfully uneven with the difficulty of its problems and its wording is vague (not to mention answers and explanations in the verbal section that are just plain WRONG even when I asked English instructors their opinion). Either way, I'm giving it one big fat star (which is one big fat star too many in my opinion).

This guide is the worst ever!
I went to atlanta during may6 to may9. I had bought the tickets to SixFlags over Georgia. According to the guide it would be open DIARY from mar to oct. When i got there, i discovered that the park was NOT open during week days. I lost 50 bucks because the ticket was non-refundable.

Don`t buy this guide! Go to atlanta by yourself. Buy the city pass and enjoy the city.

When I received the book I kind a felt that well another waste of money due to size and amount of content I had been delivered. "Hey at least read what you have in your hand!" I said to myself.

Here comes the results:

+ This book has certain errors: Figure 1.3 (I- talking to AS instead of S-, S- is not talking to HSS)/1.6(S- is not talking to AS)/1.7 (S- is not talking to MGCF)/1.8 are all misleading in the name of 3gpp specifications. By chance we got Figure 1.9 that is cleaning all these errors done in previous pages.

+ SLF explanation has this phrase: "When P-CSCF needs to route a request for a subscriber session to the appropriate S-CSCF, the P-CSCF would access this function to determine which S-CSCF has been assigned to the subscriber" this means SLF is used instead of P-CSCF internal caching role.

+ Application Server (AS) has this phrase: "AS can communciate with other AS, for example; AS can act as a redirect server generating requests and sending responses to other SIP entities within IMS" I assume we are talking about SCIM here somehow but SCIM has not given explicitly and correctly in my understanding.

+ MGCF has this phrase: "SS7 message sent to MGCF mapped to SIP Request and forwarded to P-CSCF" without stating whether orig/half call services.

+ SIGTRAN variously explained over the book couple of times unnecessarly.

I encouraged my self to keep reading after all those chapters. If you are looking for a book that explains IMS and technical details in the light of 3gpp I strongly advice not to buy this book but take a look at other available ones (ex;Camarillo's book) instead.

Mr. Russell, I don't think that I am gonna buy your next book whose title given here (SIP).

I was looking for a decent tutorial on javax.imageio and tried this book(?). After discounting the title pages and disclaimers, the book was only 29 pages of text, 17-34 wer on imageio. The examples for imageio were trivial examples, and in no way presented a satisfactory tutorial on the imageio packages.

To think about it, this book might very well be about a liquor store in Chicago. Otherwise, it could be about a film festival. In fact, it could be about the fact that any native born Serb should not be a novelist. As their poets were all like Gavrilo Princip and started World War I. In fact, the Serbs have no worthwhile history. And, anybody whose not otherwise polish or (perhaps even Jewish) should realize that the novel belongs to those rebelling against colonialism without the influence or presence of Islam. Therefore, native born Serbs and Croats should not be novelists. Instead, they should be like Milosevic and fail as actors to shout about charnel houses.

Consumer Beware!

Review Date: 2004-06-25
The book, like all of the author's works, is self-published, which produces the usual host of problems. The title is completely misleading, because it is not at all a biography of Norman Granz. The 'Prologue' gives a 12p account of his life and career and he is frequently mentioned in the following 13 chapters on individual musicians, but that's about it. The preface by Studs Terkel belonged to an earlier book by Travis, and is obviouly slapped on to this one for window dressing. Misprints and errors of fact abound: Billie Holiday was born in Philadelphia, not Baltimore. The Jazz Baroness Nica de Koenigswarter is misspelled every time (as Doeningwarter, Koenigsmarter and Koenigsmater). Ben Webster died 1973, not 1978. Benny Moten did not have his throat cut by a jealous lover, but died during or shortly after surgery on his tonsils. And so it goes on. Little fresh information is offered. In fact, the author frequently pads this tome with pages from his previous books. Reproductions are of poor quality, e.g. plain photocopies from newpapers and magazines. Reproduced extracts from FBI files add little to our knowledge of or insight into the lives of the musicians portrayed. A disappointing cut-and-paste job by an author who's lived a long life, has seen, heard and known an enormous amount of jazz & its protagonists - but wasted a great opportunity of sharing this experience.
