Atomic Winter by Travis Godbold is a concise, fast-paced little thriller with surreal overtones. Set largely in Norway in January of 1943, Atomic Winter has all the action you might expect from a WWII action thriller, but also has a supernatural flavor served up by the character of the wonderfully weird Lapp shaman who seems to be a perfect manifestation of the forbidding and spookily beautiful Norwegian winter landscape, ornamented with dazzling sunsets and shaggy pines. Caught between duplicitous allies and evil Nazis, alcoholic American skier Samuel and Norwegian ski bum Erik become inadvertently entangled in a plot to steal vital papers on a horrifying secret weapon from a Nazi outpost. After making a clumsy attempt to steal the papers from the Nazis, Samuel and Eric are captured after discovering that the papers have already been stolen by someone else. Shortly afterward, they are rescued by a strange blue-faced Lapp shaman that Samuel nicknames the "blue devil," and a stampede of graceful yet murderous reindeer. After they escape, the "blue devil" hides Samuel and Erik with his wandering Lapps, the people he calls the Sami. During their flight from the Nazis and time spent with the Lapps, Samuel discovers that the Shaman has the secret papers stolen from the Nazis--and conspires with Erik to steal them from his mysterious host and return them to the allied forces in exchange for a rich reward. The subsequent action, which encompasses a colorful mix of winter warfare and weird, semi-magical events is fast, fun and furious. In less than a hundred pages, Godbold creates a terrific action thriller with haunting overtones and magical highlights in a breathtaking setting that includes many fantastic ski chases in the Norway snows. This will be a perfect book to read on a winter evening by a roaring fire. If you stick close by the fire, maybe the blue devil won't get you!

E' uno dei migliori testi su Inventor. E' molto dettagliato e ben curato. Spiega molto bene l'uso di Inventor dalle cose più semplici fino a quelle più complesse. Tocca praticamente tutti gli argomenti coperti dal software. Se si desidera sfruttare Inventor in modo pesante, è un testo da leggere fino in fondo.
Complimenti agli autori.

Wilfred Mellers casts the most breadthtaking perspective on Beethoven, ever. Well, we do have Tovey, so take a bit of that breadth away.. and so many enlightening recordings, countless opportunities to hear the great living performers.

Back to Mellers:his brilliantly lit path, a trajectory, travels primarily through the piano sonatas, leading to the ulitmate work: the Missa Solemnis.

If you want to know the truth about Beethoven, in the purests of terms, this is The Book.

And if you want your Beethoven Piano Sontatas wildly true, Get Annie Fischer's complete setBeethoven: Complete Piano Sonatas; add Timothy Ehlen's Op.101, and any of Angela Hewitt's Beethoven work (start now with the disk of her 10/3, 7, and 57,Beethoven: Piano Sonatas, Opp. 57 "Appassionata", 10/3, 7 and look for more she may have yet to introduce.

Could write forever about Beethoven but I'm hungry, if not, at least somewhat, Hungarian.

Stephen Travis is a gifted writer. He understands the critical and scholarly issues of the Bible and he deals with them clearly but does not get caught up in the details of the debate. He offers insightful applications to the text that will provoke the typical conservative evangelical christian. His comments are also very edifying as he highlights the great themes of the Christian Faith. A wonderful daily devotional or small group study guide. Worth re-reading each year.

A wonderful first hand account of life in Symi before the arrival of tourism. For those of us who experienced it first hand will smile at the authors' stories of the people, the island and it's history.
It was such a fun read, it was a shame it wasn't twice as long!

Fans of British and London history in general and London transportation in particular will relish THE BUS WE LOVED: LONDON'S AFFAIR WITH THE ROUTEMASTER. The Routemaster is a shadow of its former self, today - but it's become no less revered the rarer it's become. It's a symbol to London, it's appeared in many a film about the city, and it here receives a history following its invention, evolution, and eventual fall in glory as a transit choice. This could be the story of any urban transit system - but will prove of particular interest to British residents and fans.

By Secrets Served is a tale of espionage based in the glittering city of San Francisco, California. His colleagues and newly assigned assistant, Michele Hunter, view Jean-Luc Duvall as a brilliant and driven attorney, poised to lead the prestigious law firm of Kane, Walters, Fields, and Kane to greater glory and profits. All are unaware of his covert mission to unmark a sordid conspiracy; a mission he executes with deadly precision utilizing the firm's own computer network.

Thrilled about her new career, Michele is inexplicably drawn to the moody associate, whose mastery of legal intricacy is surpassed only by his skill with technology. Jean-Luc rewards her eagerness to learn with uncharacteristic patience and kindness, risking his own career as well as his undercover operation when he succumbs to her innocent charms. Michele's heart becomes an unwitting pawn in a race against eval and greed, leading her to the tropical paradise of the Virgin Islands, the nation's capital, and the rolling hills of Tuscany. She learns too late Jean-Luc's secrets are many, mysterious -- and dangerous.

She was the perfect wife, to a successful surgeon who wanted her at home even when he stopped coming home. She was a perfect mother, to children who treated her like a servent. She was a woman who reached beyond her shattered illusions of happily-ever-after for a dream of success and riches all her own. Never forgetting she was a lovely woman-in a man's world of cutthroat power struggles and multi-million-dollar deals-she would follow her driving passion for life from the playgrounds of Bel Air to the boardrooms of New York. On her way to the top there would be men who tried to keep her down, men who tried to use her-and one man who would make her see the beautiful extraordinary woman she was.
