Who is Rupert Murdoch and why are so many people saying such nasty things about him? For one thing, his is America's new press lord. He has accumulated power and influence far beyond anything dreamed of when he inherited a modest income and a failing newspaper in Australia.

A book of recollections of Australian (and a couple of others) vertrans of the Vietnam War. This book has tales covering everything about the Vietnam War, from the feelings before leaving home, to fighting in the jungle, to returning home after a tour of duty.
Emotional, educational and depressingly realistic. The memories here will make you laugh and most certainly make you cry.
A must for all history buffs, and for anyone with a desire to gain an insight to the events in Vietnam.

Questioning leads to knowledge...and knowledge leads to wisdom!

This book is extremely helpful at opening up ones mind to alternatives by asking questions. Not just a few questions, but question everything. Questioning leads to knowledge, and knowledge leads to wisdom.
Asking the right questions encourages a curious and open mind, analyzing issues from multiple viewpoints, thinking through questions and answers, doing needed investigation and intuitive and non-intuitive thinking. These key elements are the basis to sound critical thinking.
Asking the Right Questions has been around for many years and is still doing well. This says a lot for how many people have benefited from it. It is currently on the 8th edition. I read the 7th edition which came out in 2004. I liked the comment from the authors at the end of the preface which says they are constantly improving the book using advice and recommendations from students and others to make it better. Practicing what one preaches is an excellent sign of quality.
Since the book is constantly undergoing improvements, it is recommended to invest the extra money to buy the latest and greatest. Knowledge is tough to put a price on. The book is currently on the 8th edition.

Aspen Bummin' is a delightful book written in verse about a young man's experience in Aspen in the 60's and early 70's. Having lived in Aspen during that time, the book brought back many wonderful memories for me of a very magical time. The vivid images of the Aspen I knew and loved jump out of the pages. This book would be a great addition to anyone's library who lived in or visited Aspen during that period. What a delight it is to take it out once in a while and go back in time. I look forward to more books by this author.

Astounding Stories was the highest quality "pulp" magazine ever published, thanks to intelligent editor John W. Campbell, Jr., who first discovered and published in these pages the best authors of the 20th century, including Robert A. Heinlein, Isaac Asimov, AE Van Vogt, and others. In these 3 lush volumes Easton Press presents most of the best stories reprinted, for the first time ever, as they originally appeared in the magazine, including the cover paintings for each story -- by such great artists as Frank Kelly Freas. These leather-bound editions are printed on acid-neutral paper, with 22kt gold on the spine, gilded page edges, and ribbons attached to mark the pages. Just a few of the classic stories included are The Roads Must Roll by Robert A. Heinlein; Killdozer by Theodore Sturgeon; Cold Front by Hal Clement; The Shadow Out of Time by H. P. Lovecraft; The Changeling by A. E. Van Vogt; several stories by Isaac Asimov including Nightfall; and many others by such terrific writers as Poul Anderson, Fredric Brown, Eric Frank Russell, James Blish, Lewis Padgett, Murray Leinster, Edmond Hamilton, and Jack Williamson.
