Both as a pastor who gives this book as the best resource to those involved with helping children through split homes and as a divorced father who's daughter still has emotional scar tisuue, this book provides great advice.
Unique is this book's advice given by sex of the child, by age and then by relationship to the child, i.e. grandparent, spouse who has custody, non-custodial parent, church, school, etc.
So well done, emphasizing the two main thoughts that stay with divorced children and how to help them with these two.

Set in the South Pacific, the book introduces us to Bran Michael Dalton, an Irishman imprisoned in the notorius British penal colony of Norfolk Island in 1835, and Fletcher Christian IV, direct descendant of the "Bounty" mutineers, who is travelling back in time from 2072 to Pitcairn Island. Unforseen circumstances skew Fletcher's journey, and he and Dalton switch places - twentieth-century man is catapulted forward to 1972, where he must cope with endless bafflement such as radios, The Rolling Stones, tinned food, and condoms.
Fast-paced and humorous, Green's narative flows ingeniously from one time frame and place to the next, alive with intelligence and wit. It will leave you with a sense of wonder about the origins or man and the earth. Truly a treasure for Time Travel enthusiasts!

This is a great book. Very well written and easy to understand and really enlightening about the US food production process as well as how to eat healthier and really live a long and fruitful life. There are plenty of great tables to reference as well concerning vitamins and minerals in certain types of food. It's also great to know that eggs aren't bad like once thought and that cholesterol isn't as big a concern. Before this I didn't even know how trans fats were bad, but now after reading it I feel MUCH more informed on the subject and now know what foods to avoid and what to eat more of for a good balanced diet.
Along with all that good information, the book also spans over decades of research and the Author clearly knows exactly what he's talking about. He's 93!!! and still working and exercising! Amazing.
I highly recommend this book to anyone concerned about nutrition and health as well as anyone who just wanted to be informed on the current path to banning trans fats and why certain things are bad for you.

3. The Christmas Knight - Without a family to call his own, Owen Thorn had little time for Christmas celebration. But a Christmas house party spent in the company of Amanda Berwick may convince him to soon set up his nursery...
4. Eugenia's Miracle - Christmas seemed a time of miracles for Eugenia Foxworth when she learned that the man she loved, and thought dead, was in fact very much alive. Now Eugenia must perform her own Christmas miracle and reawaken his heart as well!
5. The Yuletide Wish - Miss Anthea Thorne was not looking forward to spending Christmas with the gentleman who broke off their engagement four years earlier. But as the holiday magic worked its spell, Anthea began to wonder if her Christmas wish would indeed come true!

My favorite thing about this coloring book is that it covers the Christmas story from the Bible and many of the family traditions that we celebrate. It has fun coloring pages, activites, and lick-and-stick stickers.

Another hit from the Waltons, this book is especially handy for making gift tags. Made on card stock (which you can buy in bulk in the computer paper section at Staples), the larger patterns could even serve as actual Christmas cards. My almost six-year-old daughter was able to cut out the simpler patterns, but a younger child would probably be quickly frustrated. My daughter really enjoyed decorating the cards that I cut out. Glitter glue works well. As always, the paper included is gorgeous. If only one could get more of it!

This book is a compilation of Biblical prophecies fullfilled along with the corresponding New Testament scriptures which fullfilled them. All Scripture is done in wonderful calligraphy and classic artwork is throughout the book. The beginning of the book goes into the origin of many Christmas customs, which I found quite interesting as well. It is a must-have for people who observe this holiday as a Holy Day. At the time I bought this book, Amazon had it at the bargain price of $30. I doubt I would have paid $100 or more for it sight unseen.
