HOW ONE COMES TO BE TURLPEIZEDReview Date: 2008-02-27
Blue Eagle is a friend to all and when his help is needed farther up the valley he gives his Peaceful Valley friends a few words of wisdom and then heads off. He secretly knows that they will do fine without him but he probably never suspects he'll come home to find a turple has saved the day!
Now coyotes have their place in the world as we all do, but they have a way of being mischievous and causing havoc and harm at times. And as they approach the valley a meeting is called and it's suggested that everyone should find safe places to retreat until peace returns.
Three residents decide that their built-in protection systems might help when their unwelcome visitors show up. Picking their spots they patiently wait and what happens next turns the tide in the valley's favor.
Blue Eagle returns to help clean up and hear the tale that has all his friends laughing and dancing while one resident learns the value of standing up for others even if it involves a little turpleization!

Excellent book for kids...Review Date: 1998-06-24
A little like the Babysitters Club, The Gymnasts, etc., this is a "club series" that focuses on serious ice skating. Children unfamiliar with ice skating terms will find them easily explained. The reality of the situation that Nikki found herself in with Tori is typical of the ice rink, but the subplots will be very familiar to those readers of Babysitters Club and The Gymnasts books - they're very predictable, as one other review said.

Mr. Van Patten spins Vampire lore in a way that I have not seen before. I can't remember when I fell in love with my first vampire tale as I probably hadn't yet learned to talk, that said I know of what I speak in this matter. I highly recommend this rare and intelligent novel to anyone that shares a love for this kind of reading. Brookwater's Curse Volume I is a dark epic for the new age. I eagerly await the release of Volume II and all that follow.

"Wetscrape Braintanned Buckskin" has a particularly good bibliography, section on tool sharpening, troubleshooting, museum quality illustrations, good humor and a whole lot of excellent information. I've been brain tanning for a living for 11 years, teach it regularly and have written a book on it myself, and all I can say is that if you are considering getting this book, just do it!

Looking for a friend? Try these ideas...Review Date: 2000-09-06
In this book by Kellogg a lonely little boy is in search of a friend. In the natural course of events the little boy either brings home or asks his mother if he can bring home animal after animal for a pet. Thus the book's title, "Can I Keep Him?" His mother's responses are typical, but the translation of her responses in her son's head (shown in picures also done by Kellogg) are hilarious!
A definite hit with children and adults alike!
Give it a try.
Definitely 5 stars.

Wow...Review Date: 2008-02-02
This isn't a typical reading choice for me but was eye-opening & a quick, absorbing read. I'm sure my seatmates on two different plane rides were wondering what was wrong as I dabbed at my eyes in vain to stem the flow of tears.
Decent doctoring is something we take for granted & we don't always know how or are made to feel guilty or inadequate when we press for answers or explanations from an authority figure such as an esteemed specialist or doctor. We need to push for change & I only hope that books like this become mandatory in the medical study curriculum!

Heartfelt Soulful BookReview Date: 2004-08-10
He spoke quite well of the pain that is often inflicted on those who are the most helpless by those in the position to be most helpful. This definetly is a gift to be given to those in the medical field or those who are thinking of entering it.
Steve was my doctor when I was growing up and we went to the same church. I remember praying for him when the calls would go out that he needed surgery while praying for my aunt who was terminally ill at the same time...what he describes about being a patient is not far off from what my Aunt experienced while she was hospitalized in Arizona.

The Commercial Real Estate Investor's HandbookReview Date: 2008-02-02
I would recommend this book to anyone who has ever contemplated trying to enter this market. It will, at the very least, let the reader know if it is right for him or her. This book is also useful to those who have already entered the market but would like to expand into other commercial endeavors.
My thoughtsReview Date: 2008-01-04
However I have recently finished my law degree. Given that real property was a required class, and by me one of the most dreaded, due in part to my above experience. However, what caught my eye while looking for some other legal books was this clique " A step by
step Road map to Financial wealth." My first thought was it must be one of those get rich type books. However after reviewing it, I realized it was not. While reading it, I could better relate to many of the concepts, in relation to what I learned about real property, I had wished I had that book, when I took that course.
The book was clear, concise, well organized and user friendly. I really liked the chapter about due diligence, that gave me a broader understanding of it, especially as a step in dealing with real estate investing. Further much knowledge but still practical experience, and research would also be needed to formulate such a book. It was different then trying to figure out these same concepts that one would in a law book.
Yet in many ways if one becomes a real estate investor they had practical examples, such as the affirmations which were well put and setting your priorities on the ultimate goal that also could be applied to any aspect of life if the person wants to ascertain their goal/s bad enough. Meaning you have to work for it, and see through till the end. As many of these books give you the impression that things will be given to you on a silver platter, which is such a fallacy.
Further if it was easy everybody would be doing it. I also liked, the handy legal glossary in the back for reference.
However, the author did use the word we allot. I assume he was referring to himself and the attorney that wrote the welcoming forward in the initial part of the book, since there were not many other references per se on where the author, acquired all this information, nor did it say in the brief bio about the author, of any experience in the legal forum, or with real estate investing however, he did write business and instructional type manuals, which came out quite clearly in his writing. I was impressed with it and I am going to use it as a supplement in a legal real estate class. To conclude, I gave it 5 stars.
A Good Read - 5 star ratingReview Date: 2008-03-28
That's not all it covers. There's also information about commercial real estate loan documents, an explanation of leases, negotiating purchase agreements, managing tenants, insurance, sale of commercial real estate properties, marketing real estate properties, and taxes. Two appendices include sample lease forms. A glossary is beneficial to beginners who haven't yet mastered real estate and investment terminology.
The Commercial Real Estate Investor's Handbook: A Step by Step Road Map to Financial Wealth is definitely not boring or dry. It's an interesting, practical and informative book that anyone considering real estate investing should invest in (no pun intended).

Steven E. Jones introduces young children to light suspense in this second addition to his popular Blue Eagle series.
Blue Eagle leaves Peaceful Valley for the day and the animals encounter two wolves who try to eat them. The small community of characters come together to defeat the hungry wolves. Blue Eagle comes back and takes the wolves away from his friends.
A fun to read book that teaches children the values of teamwork, determination, pride in oneself and that we are all unique and should be proud of our accomplishments.
The beautiful, vivid, water color illustrations guide you through this tale and bring the animals in Peaceful Valley to life. Steven E. Jones Jr. is a very talented illustrator who has captured the essence of the characters whose lives we are allowed to share.
The Blue Eagle books will have long life on the shelves in children's libraries teaching them moral values for our time. This is a book that parents will also love to read with their children. Another great, must have book.
