I have enjoyed other books in the "story behind the scenery" series and wanted to share with my children the riches of Lake Tahoe before we go there for another vacation. This book was wonderful! We have been there before, but we learned things about Lake Tahoe we had never heard before. The pictures are beautiful and true to the real place. The kids asked so many questions from the pictures that it was great that all the answers were available in the pages. We are now interested in visiting specific sites and participating in certain activites because of the thorough information and history covered in this book. Anyone interested in the history of the Lake Tahoe area should give this book a read!

This Bible study provides lots of opportunity for group discussion and introspection. Good for new Christians as well as seasoned believers.

the book is an excellent review of development in pediatrics and is a great addittion to a pediatric resident library. Very easy to read, organised and list important references.

All recipes use five ingredients or less, and the portions are scaled down for seniors rather than the usual immense quantities meant to feed large families. Useful advice, tips, tricks, and techniques help people with arthritis or a fading sense of taste create meals that are nutritious, delicious, and healthy. Nutritional information and official American Diabetes Association exchanges are included for each recipe, and the text is in reasonably large type to make reading easier. Diabetic Cooking For Seniors is a "must" for any independent senior looking for useful and delicious culinary ways to help keep their blood sugar and calorie intake down.

This is one of the most beautiful books that I've ever seen. Lavish, full-color photos. Easy to follow directions for creating masterpiece tabletop landscapes. Recipes from renowned chefs that are easy to re-create and delicious and beautiful to serve your friends and family.

I am currently directing on a small stage and have very limited formal training. Instead, my education has been the "trial by fire". Not any more! This book absolutely breaks the code on the craft. I found the language to be accessable; information,immediately applicable. This is a comprenshive guide to the art and craft of directing.

All the essays in this book are helpful, but there are three that are outstanding. The first is Stanley Porter's survey of discourse analysis in New Testament studies. He describes the different schools of thought and their methods of discourse analysis. This is a very helpful essay for clarifying the similarities and differences in DA of NT. The second essay is Jeffrey Reed's essay on identifying theme in the NT. He centers his thoughts on the concept of prominence in text and how to identify it. Third is another Porter essay, where he attempts to answer the question, "How can biblical discourse be analyzed?" in response to the attempts by the other authors in the book.

I do not see where amazon sells the DVD that goes with this book. This book is only a study guide to go along with the movie. Other Online Christian book stores carry the DVD and book set.
That said, this is something every Christian should watch. It did nothing short of change my way of dealing with God. So many well-meaning Christians look for signs in the stars to picking a random scripture in the Bible. This study points to a way to determine God's will in a way that everyone from the scholar to the new Christian can use.
He talks about the will of God that is "providential" (the plan he has had from the beginning that cannot change like the coming of the Messiah) and the will of God that is moral (or knowledge of the God's standards). He strongly encourages Bible reading to determine the will of God. He says that the closer we got to understanding what the Bible says about God, the easier it will be to determine his will.
For those in the beginning of their Christian life, he tells us about a shortcut when we have not yet come to know the Lord like those who have held to faith in Christ for a longer time. He shows how to seek counsel from people who are where we want to be. He tells you how to catch red flags when making a bad decision before we make it.
He warns how intuition can be valuable but how it can also be wrong. He also talks about having a vision/plan for your life.

Charles Stanley has a Baptist Church of about 15,000 people. He has written many books. His books about study series are very good, some of the best I've seen. You might not agree with everything, but these are good.
