Recommendation:
I would recommend this book to everyone who likes mysteries and thrillers. I would have to say that this would be my most favorite book that's thriller and mystery. In one of the scenes in the book Grayson finds a newspaper and it said "I KNOW WHO YOU ARE AND I'M WATHING YOU. DON'T SPOIL MY PLANS AGAIN, OR YOU'LL BE NEXT!" Another reason why I like this book is because there is a little romance in it. The romance is where this guy she likes asks her "Maybe we can take a walk through the park instead, then, and you can get in some more practice. Its called Monument Hill. Want to go sometime? Sometime soon?" So he asked her on a date. So if you like thrillers and mysteries with some romance, than this book is for you.

The book Second Sight was a pretty good book. Grayson is a girl who had been blind and had a transplant so she could see. Something went wrong, but what? Throughout the book Grayson is kind of like a spy she has to figure out why she is seeing bad things in her dreams then they come true.I would recommend this book to someone who likes to read mysteries and who can keep up with a fast moving book. Also it is a book that can keep you reading from page to page because of the charactars real life form.

I thought that this book was really good because it talks about a girl that gets sugary and she gets another person's psychic abilities and she can see murders before they happen. I liked it because it was so real that it seemed like a movie and I got really involved in it. I really think you should read this book.

This book was totally great. I read it from start to finish all at once, without stopping once. The story is of a girl called Grayson. She has been blind, but an operation means that she can now see again. The donor was a police psycic, and now Grayson gets her visions, and is helping to solve murders. The only thing is; the murderor knows Grayson. Read and see..

Clear and practical instruction on a "difficult" subject

Dr. Vasant Lad is a world-renowned ayurvedic physician, born and educated in India, with more than forty years of clinical experience. He is one of the world's leading teachers and scholars of ayurveda, and served as professor of clinical medicine at the University of Pune College of Ayurvedic Medicine & Surgery as well as director of its affiliated hospital. Currently, he is president of and a senior faculty member at the Ayurvedic Institute, in Albuquerque, New Mexico. Vasant Lad is the author of several professional texts and popular works on ayurveda and has written countless articles on the subject.

Long ago, in India's remote past, ayurveda's sages described the means by which the radial pulse could be utilized to interpret the status of the physical and psychological constitutions of its possessor as well as to assess the overall state of health (or its absence). In the hands of an experienced and sensitive practitioner, pulse diagnosis (nadi pareeksha) can yield up a wealth of information of a very specific character well beyond the simple determination of prakruti and vikruti. It can lend assistance to locating the precise site(s) of pathology, the tissues affected and the state of the disease's progress and development, as well as the presence or absence of reactive systemic toxins that may lead to disease. Because pulse diagnosis requires a great sensitivity and deftness of the sense of touch that comes only with practice, it is as much an "art" as a science.

While pulse diagnosis has been cursorily described in several popular works on ayurveda, Dr. Lad has produced the first text on pulse diagnosis for the Western student practitioner, and "Secrets of the Pulse" provides a clear and straightforward method by which one can learn to assess the meanings of the pulse. With practice and the guidance afforded by this book, one can acquire the proficiency to read pulses accurately

This new edition has been revised and expanded in response to the feedback of many students and teachers who use this book in ayurvedic schools and clinics.

"Secrets of the Pulse" offers very practical and very clear instruction on pulse analysis that the author received from his own guru, describing a unique method that augments the practitioner's sensitivity and awareness while cultivating one's ability to directly perceive fundamental paradigms affecting the body.

Along with several other of Dr. Lad's works, I am certain that "Secrets of the Pulse" is destined to become a definitive textbook in English-language training programs for aspiring ayurvedic practitioners. It is an excellent effort, delivering practical instruction on a "difficult" subject matter with clarity and elegance. I heartily recommend it to anyone hoping to become involved in ayurveda.

Edited with an Introduction by Marlene Smith-Baranzini, The Shirley Letters: From The California Mines 1851-1852 by Louise Amelia Knapp Smith Clappe presents the contemporary reader with vivid first-person accounts of what it was like to live in the midst of the great California gold rush. Written in the form of letters by a doctor's wife who lived through the thick and thin of boisterous events, The Shirley Letters encompass mob violence, summary justice, a duel to the death, a rowdy July 4th celebration, and much, much more. A first-rate primary source, The Shirley Letters offers especial insight to American history and is highly recommended for both personal reading lists and academic reference collections.

This book is a marvelous true story of what it was like, in California, during a time which will never come again. The author's detailed descriptions and wonderful style of writing takes the reader there, to the Old California, when it wasn't a state, it was a wild untaimed country unto itself. Truly beautiful.

I have one of under 200 original copies, signed by the author, it is my treasure. I am so glad to see it here, offered to the general public. I obtained it just last month, and wanted to share it with every woman, man, child I know! I thought I was going to have to type the entire book just to give a copy to my mother. I thought that because of the small number printed that there wasn't any way I would find another one, but low and behold, here it is, reprinted only this year, on Amazon. A must for any Californian.

Stunningly vivid work. I've read many books that cover the Gold Rush era. This one is by far the best at bringing it to life. It was written by a woman who lived right where it was happening, when it was happening. Written for the popular (newspaper) press of the time, her stories paint a picture of the setting, the people, and the values of the day that is simply unmatched.

Even better, the editor has done an admirable work of putting the author's life and work into context, with a helpful introduction, endnotes, and glossary of place names.

Dame Shirley's classic (and often humorous!) letters portray the California gold rush in all its excitement and ethnic diversity. At last an edition has appeared that sets her writings in context! Editor Marlene Smith-Baranzini has done students, researchers, and history buffs a huge favor by putting together THE definitive Dame Shirley collection, complete with excellent introduction, interpretive footnotes, maps, photographs, and even a glossary. Reccommended for anyone interested in California history or just in search of a good read.

What a read!! The author does a superb job of outlining the plot to take Hue by the North Vietnamese and puts you in the middle of the battle. His perosnal recollection as well as the interviews with former commanders is riveting.

As a non-military person, the explanations of key events and strategies is clear and concise. I found it hard to put down!!

This Book was very informative. The writer puts you right there in the city, fighting with them.. I would give this book a ten. The writer is right about the Arvn. I have been with the Arvn airborne units and they never did once run from a fight while I was with them. They were not given the accolades that were due them in their fight for the city of Hue.The Marines are always claming they are the best which I will say they are very good, but there were time when the Army had to come in and help them. who fought at Hue. And it is written by somebody who was there. Hue was every bit as tough a battle against every bit as formidable an enemy as any Americans have ever faced. The soldiers who fought and died there deserve all the respect due them for having fought an incredibly tough battle. Most paperbacks I dispose of after reading. Not this one. It goes into the Vietnam collection.

An excellent summary

This slim volume, grossly overpriced, is an excellent summary of a pivotal battle of the Tet offensive of 1968. Smith was in Hue throughout the battle as an Army PIO and gives a very balanced view of what went on. Often heralded as primarily a Marine battle, Smith rightly documents the actions of the Army units and the hard fighting done by the ARVN, particularly the paratroop units and the 1st Division. He strikes just the right balance between history and memoir. For the whole story, not just Smith's view, there are a number of books on the battle of Hue which he notes for the reader. Particularly effective was his post-war visits with some of the South Vietnamese commanders. The war cost all us, those of us who served there, those who lost their loved ones, but especially those who did both of those things and lost their country too.

A truly wonderful but heartbreaking true story upon story told by eyewitnesses. No talking heads building it up all out of proportion that we"re so full of today. So little is mentioned today of the fact that this ship was on fire {coal bunkers} when it sailed. I own an original copy and am curious as to it"s value?

A book that opens up the REAL Truth about the spiritual gifts that Jesus brought to earth, over 2000 years ago. This one expands even further into Smith Wigglesworths sermons about the spiritual gifting, God wants to bestow on each of us.
It helps a lot in tieing together the missing knowledge church's today don't preach about.
Don't wait, get this book today, as well as all the other books written in the plain simple words of this preacher. I do believe it will open up your mind to who you really are, in Jesus Christ.

It is sad to say, but the Church of Jesus Christ, generally speaking, has gone mad. We keep doing the same thing over and over again and we keep obtaining the same results; no miracles, fornication and adultery in greater numbers in the church, no power, no commitment, and we expect from God to show His Glory and His Power to His Church. I admire the determination and diligence exhibited by this man of God named Smith Wigglesworth. He took to heart what Jesus said about doing greater things. Smith could have also said like the Apostle Paul said, "Be imitators of me as I am of Christ." What a challenge to meet! What a man! Even better...what a Great God he served and honored!!! We have a long way to go if we are going to make an impact on this Earth. Repentance, submission, and obedience will get us there and beyond what we dreamed we could accomplish in Christ Jesus. Let's us pay the price and let us find "The Secret of His Power."

Hibbert unveils the secrets of Wigglesworth's power.

Review Date: 1999-03-04
This underappreciated book was written by a close personal friend of Smith Wigglesworth. Hibbert received healing as a child under the ministry of another Wigglesworth friend, and then came to the evangelist's attention, enjoying Wigglesworth's fellowship through his childhood years as well as the formative years of his own ministry. He unveils the handful of secrets of Wigglesworth's power in the Holy Spirit. This Yorkshire plumber turned evangelist was taught to read by his wife with the Bible as his primer. For the rest of his days, he stubbornly refused to read anything else. He considered feeding his spirit with the Word paramount to feeding the body and after each meal would insist on reading a chapter aloud from his New Testament or Bible (one or the other of which he was never without) no matter who the company was. He would then take a few minutes for prayer. This is one example of how Wigglesworth, day in and day out, numerous times a day, fed and strengthened his spirit. This secret, along with his ability to slip into God's presence wherever he might be, his natural, virtually unending flow of prayer, and his daily walk in the love of Christ for others, propelled Wigglesworth into a place of empowerment in the Holy Spirit not often heard of since the days of the early church. Through these secrets he became a juggernaut of faith, a man whose message was confirmed by God with healing miracles, and an apostle for whom the forces of darkness and fear were no match. "Ever Increasing Faith" by Wigglesworth and Stanley Frodsham's "Smith Wigglesworth: Apostle of Faith" are also highly recommended.

If you want to read what happens to a life totally opened to be used by God, read this. If you need inspiration by another's example to believe for the for the impossible, no matter what; read this. If you want encouragement to be the most you can be in Christ, read this. If, in the midst of a world that teaches you that God no longer moves as he once did; you want to be used in the power of the Holy Spirit, read this! If you want to be able to beleive for the miraculous, whether in healing, deliverance, salvation, or God's provisions, read this! It does not make you want to be like Wigglesworth. (He would be upset at it's title!) What it does is make you want to be all that you can be to accomplish the most for Jesus.
