Its a nice book giving the new recepeis and enjoy of new food

Dave Simmons has put together an absolutely excellent series in "Dad the Family Shepherd". The third installment to this three part series is "Dad the Family Mentor". What I think is most valuable about these works is the successful combination of psychology, Biblical teaching, statistical data, and story telling that make this a book you cannot put down. If you are a dad, you need this book. If you have suffered the consequences of being fathered poorly, you need this book. It is informative, spiritually centered on the greatest model of fathers (God himself), and highly motivational. It is not flooded with pscho-babble, but neither does it dismiss the value of an analytical approach to fathering. Our society does not only need men who desire to be great dad's, but, it needs men who know where to go to be trained to accomplish that high calling. This series wonderfully serves as part of that.

Diane Simmons' tale of an early coming-of-age tells a somewhat different tale than the review listed here by Kirkus reviews. I found my readership engaged with the story being told, not so much because of the attachments that story has with everyone's coming-of-age, but because that telling's sharp details do foretell one's life in all its strangeness. The title of this book rings true from page to page, which makes it MORE of a story, not less!

Helpful, real-life illustrations from the author's observations and experiences assist readers trying to understand or cope. This highly readable topical introduction covers both sociological and Biblical insights about this church reality. Discussion questions are followed by reference endnotes. Its 139 pages and 12 chapters include research on Catholics, Protestants, and Mormons. Scriptures from 19 New Testament and 16 Old Testament books provide theological perspective. This book should be in every new minister's library.

This book is a good book, and I recommend it to anybody who wants to read a book. I'm an extremely bad reader - and so may not have picked up on all the nuances, but at the end I was touched by that fuzzy feeling of truth one gets with good art. Is the end a little like D. Thomas' poem "Mourning" something or other - you know the one! - or was it my imagination.

I wrote this book, so I probably shouldn't review it -- but what the heck, here goes: It's not bad, especially where it concerns training paces and how to set them with a lactate analyzer. And the workouts are pretty insipid, but doable -- they will get you in the ballpark as concerns blood lactate. Buy it! You'll like it!

This is a good reference book. It lists some different cemeteries in the Texas,New Mexico,Oklahoma and Arkansas region. Some I already knew about but lot I did not. It has some historical information along with several pictures of the actual cemeteries. Would have liked more information listed about some of the cemeteries in Oklahoma. I'm sure a book on each state and its famous or interesting cemeteries could be written. I would recommend it for people doing genealogy in this region.

This book made me laugh so hard I almost fell out of my bed. The story is about a woman in modern times who's fiance wants her to sign a prenuptial agreement. This sends her off to climb a mountain. She is minding her own business when her guardian angel in training sneezes and sends her back to the 1890's! She is very confused about all of this and so is the hero and his children who have seen her practically fall out of the sky. The handsome Oklahoma cowboy is trying to find out who is behind the damage happening to his ranch and is suspicious of the woman who is wearing strange clothing. But he is also highly attracted to her and when they finally admit that they have fallen for each other he is unsure of whether she will stay with him or not. The secondary characters of the guardian angel in training and his trainer are hilarious and had me in tears. The scene with the cow is the best. Pick this book up for sure.

This book is fantastic and covers so many topics so thoroughly, it is hard to choose just one thing as the best part. The author tells about the Quakers, their history and beliefs, about the Iroquois and their history of war and land loss, as well as giving a rare glimpse into everyday life in the 1700's--games, religious festivals, feasts, mythology. The story of the interaction of the groups as they get to know each other and explore their similarities and differences is sometimes funny, sometimes sad, and the author even includes a glimpse into the religious and social implications of the interaction for the Indians. The story of Handsome Lake is particularly well-told. At the end of the book, I felt that I understood the whole vast episode, and I even had a certain fondness for Henry Simmons, the irascible Quaker. His entire 1799 journal, which is a wonderful read, is included as an appendix, and is worth the price of the book.

This calendar is a great way to learn new words and re-learn ones you may have forgotten if you don't use your German daily. Highly recommended!
