Talk to Me is a great book! I am an avid reader and Talk to Me is one of the best I've ever read. I found myself laughing out loud - sign of a good book, grinning from ear to ear, and then saying "no she did not"! Once I started reading, I couldn't but the book down. The storyline was intriguing and the characters were well developed. I finished it in two days! You definitely will not be disappointed. Pat Simmons is definitely gifted to write a good story! Thanks Pat for sharing your talent with the world! Leslie Hudson

An outstanding addition to the gourmet cookbook shelf!

Spanish tapas, or introductory appetizers, are easy to prepare and this cookbook focuses on the simple recipes which don't necessarily require access to seafood, unlike some of the larger, more in-depth Spanish cookbooks on the subject. Enjoy Sherry-Glazed Eggplant, Meatballs in Almond Sherry Sauce, Grilled Swiss Chard and Cheese Packages and many more in an inviting presentation spiced with a few color photos.

creative resource for teachers

This book covers everything from understanding the characteristics of early-childhood ages to building relationships with the children and their parents to ways of making discipline situations easier. Its section called "The Program" is especially helpful because it lays out helpful hints for each part of your teaching day--from welcoming students to clean-up time. Each "tip" is easy to understand and, most importantly, easy to put in practice. They are each unique and creative and were obviously inspired by teachers themselves.

I saw this book featured in the AKC's Family Dog magazine a few months back and ordered two copies as soon as it hit the shelves. One for each of my cousins' new babies. I had to read it, myself, as soon as it arrived. The illustrations are fabulous, and, as an avid dog lover, the way the book begins and ends with two friends meeting, smiling at each other and "the sun comes out" and everyone's happy, brought me to tears. Such a sweet book for any child, but especially poignant for those of dog lovers.

I'm about to order two more for my own niece and nephew.

Updated Transplantation Drug Manual!
Helpful Votes: 5 out of 6 total.
Review Date: 1999-11-23
This book provies the reader with a listing of drugs commonly used in patients who have undergone solid organ transplantation, including drugs used for immunosuppression and those used to minimize post-transplant complications. The most attractive feature in this manual is the initial overview of the agents that will be covered in each chapter. After the overview, a summarized version of each drug's monograph is presented, which includes information on broand names, manufacturers, mechanism of actin, indications, formulation and dosing.

It is not only a useful manual for physicians and medical residents, but for clinical and hospital pharmacists, as it provides some product-related information.

The truth, the whole truth and nothing but the truth
Helpful Votes: 8 out of 9 total.
Review Date: 2004-07-25
This is a very useful collection of 20. century writings about veritatis natura, the nature of truth. But instead of a textbook introduction to the key thinkers and basic theories (such as R.L. Kirkham's Theories of Truth: A Critical Introduction) we get ipsissima verba, their very own words.

Often it proves too complicated and difficult for the beginner to get an overview of a debate by reading the original articles and therefore he will benefit from reading an introductory textbook first. This is not the case here. Although some of the articles in this volume can be quite technical, Krikham's introduction is no less technical, and in my oppinion, this volume is the superior introduction for the beginner, while Kirkham's otherwise excellent book is recommended for the more advanced student of philosophy.

This volume contains classic readings by authors such as William James, Bertrand Russell, Gottlob Frege, Ludwig Wittgenstein, Alfred Tarski, W.V.O. Quine, Peter Strawson, J.L. Austin, Paul Horwich, Michael Dummett, Donald Davidson, Anil Gupta and Richard Rorty to name a few. I think it is fair to say that most, if not all significant theories of truth advanced in the 20. century are covered in this volume. There is also an introduction by Simon Blackburn and Keith Simmons (the editors), which helps to put things into perspective. There is also a select bibliography which serves as a suggestion for further reading. My only complaint is that the book's index could be better.

If you are interested in theories of truth or the philosophy of language, you should buy this book.

AN AUTHOR TO WATCH!

Review Date: 2008-04-24
Sheryl Ann Simmons keeps it real in her book "Tryin' To Get Saved: Confession: Caught Up." The journey you go on with the main character Niecy hits home, and that many will identify with! The struggle between living for God or living for the flesh is one many new church members can relate to, and you find yourself rooting for Niecy to do the right thing! WARNING: the language may be offensive to some, but it only adds to the realism of the situation that today's young woman deal with. I recommend this book to anyone looking for inspiration in their journey to salvation.
