We use the Saxon Phonics Intervention program in our homeschool. My son has dyslexia, and this program helps fill in the different phonics gaps from his early elementary years. The program is so easy to follow. You don't need any special training at all because it is so well designed and laid out that it is completely self explanatory. I would highly recommend this product for anyone who wants a good phonics/spelling program for a student in middle school or above.

The most excellent homeschool phonics program available!

This is a superb homeschooling phonics program. Unlike other programs, this is a clearly laid out, lesson by lesson, rigorous kindergarten program that actually expects children to be able to read. Each letter is systematically studied in the classical Saxon format of incremental learning that has been so successful in the well-known math program. Each sound is reviewed along with the rules necessary to put these sounds into use in order to enable the student to read.
The homestudy manual follows a week-by-week, day-by-day format with one increment of learning per week. Starting with one letter/sound per week, all consonants and short vowels, the double consonant rule, the long vowels, several digraphs (i.e., sh, th) and more are taught in this kindergarten phonics program. The education is not cluttered up with "cutesy" timewasters so common in other kindergarten curricula. I want to get the word out to all homeschoolers that this is the best-kept secret for teaching your child to read out there! You will never be disappointed. Once more, Saxon Publishers has provided a treasure to all homeschoolers to ensure their children's academic success.

Awesome Way to Teach Kids to Read!

I am a teacher at a one-room school, and we use the Saxon Phonics Homeschool series. I am amazed at how early my students can start to read. My students can read small books and four to five letter words before Christmas! I would recommend this series to anyone interested in teaching their children to read! The Saxon Math is just as good!

A Winning Playbook!

Kantis Simmons, America's #1 Academic Success Coach, is a powerful and charismatic speaker, and he brings his enthusiasm to the written word as well. `Playing You're A Game: Biblical Principles For Academic Success' is a wonderful blend of simple, concrete, immediately applicable and highly effective principles for academic success, paired with biblical support for the idea that God desires for you to be successful in school. This is a combination that I had never imagined in my wildest dreams, so when I first started reading I was curious and highly skeptical. However, when I read his principles and recommendations, I immediately recognized their effectiveness and reliability.

If you are looking for guidance on how to be consistently successful in school and college, and especially if you are a Christian and feel supported by biblical passages, `Playing Your A Game' is an excellent choice.

One of the things I like most about `Playing Your A Game' is that Kantis expresses the information in a condensed and efficient format. He gets right to the information that you need to be successful in your academic life. The result is a slim, lightweight, compact guide full of great information that you can easily carry in your purse, briefcase, book bag, or even in a large pocket to remind yourself of those key principles in your day to day life.

Most books offering academic help go into great detail about the mechanics of studying, but often neglect the core issues that are standing in the way of a student's success. Kantis Simmons' book, `Playing Your A Game' is different because the principles he teaches in it solve those core issues and lead the student who follows them to academic victory. I give `Playing Your A Game' an A+.

One of the books my students read is Pool Boy. This cassette is new for our school this year, and it's a great addition. The students enjoy reading along to the tape. Chad Lowe has a good voice, almost soothing. He also reads different expressions and dialogue well. Highly recommended, especially for students who have difficulty reading.

Absolutely hysterical! A must for those who love dogs and humor. You'll howl with laughter after seeing some of our best known celebrities dressed up as canines. Definitely the BEST "poop" I've ever read! From front to back cover, articles and advertisements feature nothing but our favorite canine friends at their most amusing.
