I got this book because I have read other Merline Lovelace books and have enjoyed them all. Her story is the first in this
book of three short stories. Her story is titled "The Major's Wife" and is about a Major who comes home after the Crimea
War in 1856 in England. He has been gone for three years and comes home to a wife who has grown and changed while he was
gone. He must woo and win her back. The second story if "The Companion" by Deborah Simmons. I have not read anything by her
before, but this story was very good. It tells the story of an Englishman who comes home after fighting in the Napoleonic
Wars. He is still recovering from being wounded and finds his brothers has died and now he is Earl of Hawthorne. He never
wanted to be the earl, misses his brother and his girlfriend has decided to marry someone else. His grandmother hears of
a young woman who is left without any family to support her and hires her to be a companion to the earl. The last story is
"An Honest Bargain" by Julia Justiss. I have not read anything by her either, but this story is also very good. It is the
story of an officer's wife who is left penniless and lone by husband who gambled and cheated on her their whole short marriage.
A childhood friend, also an officer, finds out the husband has died and goes to the widow to see if she needs help, he has
loved her since they were teenagers, she did not know. He talks her into a short term marriage to help her out and then he
tries to woo her into staying married. All three stories are very good historical love stories.

When then Major Simmons first published this paper for the defense intelligence training system, I praised it and published it for my international network of intelligence professionals.
Maj Simmons went on to become Col Simmons, and then Congressman Simmons (R-CT-02). He was defeated by George Bush rather than his Democratic opponent, losing by less than 90 votes to a good man who has no relevant experience, simply because he was a Republican, as am I.
This remains the single best examination of defense NON-exploitation of open source intelligence (OSINT). Since it is not available from Amazon, I will note that if one Googles for this, they will find the complete paper at my website.
Amazon is in my view the hub for all world knowledge, and I am very much looking forward to supporting them in expanding to include dissertations, papers, and Op-Eds.

I truly enjoyed the conversational style used by Lt. Simmons. He defines military jargon when he uses it in the book. It
saddens me to see how unfairly people are treated simply because of color. I had naively thought that we had grown as a
nation. This book is a "must read" for those who find war glamorous. There is certainly nothing glamorous about vomiting
after training in a gas chamber. As a child of a World War II and Vietnam War Veteran, I have gained insight into some of
the situations my father must have witnessed during his thirty years in the military. I look forward to reading more by
this talented author. I thank him for serving this country of ours, and I thank him for sharing his military experiences
with his readers.

If you want to give yourself or someone else breakfast in bed, this is the book for you -- the recipes are beautifully presented,
simple, and the ones I've tried are utterly delicious. I recommend the Blueberry Buttermilk Pancakes w/Blueberry Sauce and
the New Year's Eve Popover Pancake W/Smoked Salmon & Dill Butter -- both are heavenly. This is a perfect little book to
give someone as a gift. Enjoy!

This Book brings me a lot of comfort and helps diminish my fear . The quality of the writing about spiritual affirmations
is profound and very inspirational. The book is all enlightening. I have often felt a deep loneliness and sense of not belonging
to this planet and Drew Simmons has made me see where those feelings come from and who I really am. A Path of Peace with God
is a book that is going to help a lot of people like me who want to find themselves and want to be on the right path. Thank
You Dr. Drew Simmons for your powerful affirmations.

More Pamphet than Book...

More pamphelet than book, I bought a used copy (since it's out of print that's generally the case, isnt' it) and when it arrived
I was surprised. It's binding is everything you'd expect from a circa 1976-self-published-pamphlet: low-quality paper and
staples for a binding. But the picture of Paula Simmons in the triangle scarf, sans archetypal glasses is probably worth the
purchase. The patterns themselves are very 1970s, but the advice is useful if this is your first time out. It is instructive
that her book "Spinning for Softness and Speed" is listed at $7.95 at the back of this book, while this pamphlet is listed
at $1.35 (plus 54ยข postage). It's not worth a huge investment, unless you simply want to complete your Paula Simmons collection.

Rachel Banks is in the business of promoting love. As the most popular and in-demand designer of wedding dresses in Madeira
Beach, Florida, Rachel specializes in helping dreams come true for brides, even if it is at the expense of her own dreams.
When an elderly wedding guest advises Rachel to try slipping a piece of wedding cake under her pillow in order to find the
man of her dreams, Rachel had no idea the old tradition would come true. The only problem is the man of her dreams is not
exactly what she had in mind. As an international news cameraman, Mark Robison has seen the ugly side of the world, and
accepts that his chosen lifestyle requires him to move from crisis to crisis. But as he takes some time to recover from a
sniper's bullet, and attend his sister's wedding, he meets Rachel, who believes in all things good and beautiful. Suddenly,
Mark finds himself re-evaluating his hectic but empty lifestyle. He realizes that all he wants in the world is to help Rachel
make her dreams comes true. The first in a series of three romantic comedies that feature just a little touch of magic,
"Perfect Fit" is an absolutely delight story that will win author Lynda Simmons fans galore. Simmons' sense of humor shines
through into her writing, creating characters and a plot that is sure to charm one and all. Be sure to watch for her next
two books, "Charmed and Dangerous" and "That Devil Moon," set to be released in 2000.

After reading the text and looking at Hayne Palmour's amazing photos, you feel as if you're part of the Marines who took part
in the early part of the Iraq war. Excellent work by both journalists.

It brings back my early childhood memories of going down to the Plainfield, NJ station to watch the occasional steam engine go through, or to see the wonderful 'Phoebe Snow' whiz past. It reminds me of the Saturdays, being slightly older, when a great day would be spent with a pal, riding one of the branches of the Erie Lackawanna.
So, whether you too might have memories to be invoked, or whether you missed this wonderful era of railroading and would enjoy seeing what it looked like (you can almost hear and smell the trains as well), this is definitely the book for you!
