Sherman has written an excellent book for the Christian who needs to have a more realistic appraisal of a job and career.

Among the imporant points covered include:

5. Conquering stress before it conquers you.

The book's major themes encourage the reader to work hard but to hold your career with a light touch - careers, like the things of this world, are fleeting.

Read the book and be encouraged in the Lord - what we do Monday through Saturday is just as important as what we do on Sunday!

Cecil Sherman is an icon to Baptist freedom. This collection of his sermons captures his ability to say it to the point. While out of print, this volume is just as helpful today as it was when it was first in print. While some illustrations are obviously dated (such as political figures of that time) you could just as easily read it with today's political names and/or issues. A great read and resource to add clarity to Jesus' parables.

I love learning about geology, especially how the Earth was formed, what the various layers are, and about different types of rocks. Volcanoes and earthquakes are also very cool. I'd recommend this book for anyone interested in learning more about the Earth they live on.

Bill Hall can make your taste buds water. Just try any of these recipes. Page 44 is great!

This new (Feb. 2005) edition of this book is highly useful for couples who plan on living together but not getting formally married. The design is attractive, useful features (such as a checklist) are included, and religious covenants are included as is domestic partner registration bankruptcy, children, and many other topics that couples need to consider. Highly recommended!

I wasn't expecting much but this is one of the best chick lit books I've ever read! Funnier than Bridget Jones! Hilariously funny from start to finish. It had me in pieces. Great heroine, characters and backdrop. Hong Kong was a unique setting, and I found the descriptions fascinating. Would make an ace movie. Loved every page. Highly recommend to anyone who likes to laugh.

This book is an eye-opener. I am not a radical environmentalist, but I do care about what we do to ourselves and our children. This book is about the indiscriminate use of chemicals & radiation and the results of that use. It is focused on Breast cancer, but can be applied to over all health issues in general. It is easy to read and comprehend. I highly recommend.

The fact that the author of this book, Dr. Sherman Minton, was my father may give me a slightly prejudiced view of this story. That notwithstanding, I can honestly recommend this book to anyone who has an interest in herpetology, or just a love of animals and adventure. It is a saga of where something that began as a childhood hobby can lead a truly dedicated person.
We discovered this manuscript after my father died in 1999, and we believe that it was very nearly, if not completely, finished. Our greatest regret is that our Dad did not live to see it published. In layman's language, Bishop Watkins explains the marital relationship in the Christian vein, having himself some 40 plus years of marriage as experience. He also reveals the real emotions he suffered in the sickness and ultimate death of his wife. A must read for every married couple.

After watching Smoke Signals, a fine film, I was driven to try the prose of this fine writer. Cousin I was not expecting the depth of feeling this author invokes with his tales of struggles with modern life in a foreign country...America.
