The best Sci-Fi book of 2005 - perhaps even the first great book of the 21st century! In the tradition of Robert A. Heinlein
and Isaac Asimov this book takes you on a spectacular adventure filled with romance, intrigue and action out of this galaxy!
I highly recommend this book and look forward to seeing what the author pumps out next!

The story of the March in the words of the Commanding General himself. Doing reading on the subject for around four months
I decided to pick up a book by him about his own March. His side of the story does often go along with what Historians have
to say about him. Unlike any major Historian (that I've found) will do, he actually tells you why he made some of his major
decisions.
It does take some getting used to, because it's written in the era's form of English and writting.. and you will pick up on the differences very quickly, but you get used to it. For "old and ancient" writing.. I found it to be a very well written and put together book, despite the fact that the March to the Sea is the last chapter of the book (and also the last 70ish pages).

An intriguing tale of a prehistoric couple which marks the beginnings of abstract thought and language. With very few words
the author paints a convincing picture of prehistoric life, and allows the characters to come alive and develop within the
frame of a few short pages. A very rewarding read with a thought provoking twist of an ending. This author knows the meaning
of the "Show don't tell" rule and also manages to convey worlds of meaning in a succint one sitting read.

Still filled with black elves, white elves, betrayal, magic, and yes - love, this story is one of my new favorites. It does
get a little complicated, but that only makes it even more fun. And this time, Lydia gets some romance as does Kevin!

'The book is dead because the book trade is about selling objects not ideas.'
Writing as a consumer, many of us have become caught up in the debate about presentation. Discussion about tradition versus technology is important, but it is surely not the critical issue. For some of us, the joy of owning and reading a printed book will always be important. But generally it is the intrinsic content rather than the physical presentation that is crucial.
Why do some of us value books so highly? As Mr Young points out, if you can't find a book (or get to it) then it ceases to exist.
Why aren't people reading books? If you read this book, you will be presented with a number of well presented and logical possibilities. And yes, technology is both part of the problem and part of the solution.
Highly recommended to all of those with an interest in both the future of books and of reading.
