This is an extremely useful book. It begins with northern England and covers the continent west of the Elbe and north of
the Alps, including Scandinavia. Since most American readers tend to have some familiarity with England if with any region,
this may be practical. However, it leads to a recommendation that the reader definitely should not stop with the first chapter,
because only later does it become apparent that there were many other ways of handling "commons" and many different definitions
of what was "common."

"Since Market Square has in recent years become internationally known, and since its architect, Howard Van Doren Shaw, has
become a subject of study for architects and architectural historians, we are proud to publish this book. It is the first
book devoted entirely to Shaw or to one of his works, and it is the first attempt of any kind to do a thorough study of his
best-loved architectural achievement, Market Square. Susan Dart, because of her relationship to Shaw ... has been able to
collect family data and memorabilia that might otherwise have been lost." Arthur H. Miller, Jr., Lake Forest-Lake Bluff Historical

Another winner from the author of SATIN AND LACE.

Here's another winner from the author of SATIN AND LACE. Like its predecessor, MARRIED TO SINCLAIR is a warm, wonderful romance,
but this time, it's set in Scotland. The background of a family company is something different, and the characters are almost
all appealing. Even Gina, the hero's unstable wife, has a problem that, once revealed, puts her behaviour in a different
light. If you enjoy romance where the characters have families and responsibilities, where they are fully rounded people
instead of types or silhouettes, do yourself a favour and get a copy of this book.

Realy good book that gives you the inside of a fashion brand and buying oganisation.
Recomand for it's simplicity and profesionalism.
You can use it in your own business with some smaller changes. Suitable for larger and smaller companies.

I have read three of Murray Shaw's revisals of the Sherlock Holmes Mysteries, and this is the most on edge one. If you like
a good solid mystery, with a slight touch of shock (at the end of both mysteries) then this is definatly your book. In The
Adventure of the Cardboard Box a very strange thing happens to a quiet woman, two ears arrive at her front door! The investigators
don't know if it is a murder or a gross joke, and how come it is a quiet woman that it is sent to??? In A Scandal in Bohemia,
a strange man arrives at 221 Baker Street. He needs Sherlock to get a painting for him at an ex lover's house, but what happens
at the end of the story turns out to be "something" that not many people can do to Sherlock Holmes

The CLUES section of these books after the adapted story is a fabulous way to get a young reader interested in Sherlock Holmes
and his brand of logical thinking. Well done Murray Shaw...

Writtten in French and English by Mary Shaw, Max is a story told through the eyes of a cat in brilliant, realistic illustrations,
by Sue Agin. Colorfull watercolor images brings the story to life, making you feel as if you are actaully at the canal.
An excellant painting from the book features the tabby cat Max in vestigating a small turtle by the waterside. The reflections
and textures of the trees are wonderful.
Translated by Mary Shaw and Francois Cornilliat, Max makes for an interesting read. As a french student, the style was unique and helpful to my french studies. A creative story that links many animals and locations to the mysterious past of Max. The style of writting is easy to read, while at the same time, casting a poetic air.
Max is a house cat gone alley cat in search of his mother. As the adventure unfolds Max has run ins with sly racoons, mysterious cardinals and water-bound geese. When Max's owner discovers that he has gone missing she frantically searches for her beloved pet. Eventually, Max realizes that he needs to put the past behind him and return home.
This is the 2nd of Mary Shaw and Sue Agin's books that I have read, and I certainely think that this story is my favorite. As a cat person, thats reasonable.

"Let's Go, Let's Go, Let's Kill, Kill...
...rush of noise, the frenzied crowd...they have spent a week getting up for the game. They've been stepped on, humiliated, shamed, punished, degraded. They are ready to play football.
Kill, Kill, Kill EEEAAGH! EEEAAAGH!"
Yes, that is EEEAAGH with three e's!
This is a minor American sports classic -- the heralded memoir of "the hidden world" of Texas football, by Gary Shaw, pumped up by Dell in some fairly exploitative packaging. Blurbs praise Shaw's accuracy and candor. In the early 1970's there were a lot of tell-all books about American sports as yesterday's golden sports heros became flawed (and sometimes groovy and sometimes druggy) anti-heros. Shaw's memoir survives today because of the quality of his observations, not due to the the outrageousness of his claims.
And you've got to love the title.
