Shaw Books

I have Prof. Arthur as a teacher at SUNY Binghamton in NY. He is very understandable, writes well, and very intellectual. We have dissected many of his works and I feel that they are all superb. Enjoy!

The designs in this book are incredibly beautiful and are so inspiring for their creativity. The artist also shows how to create the designs - well worth the small price!

The Books are wonderful. I have read alot of Kaya's books and they are wonderful. Kaya is a Nez Perce Girl living with her family in the nez perce homeland. Her time period is 1764 and there are many characters. These are some more of Kaya's stories. In Meet Kaya, Kaya gets a nickname she's afraid she can not get rid of . In Kaya's Escape Kaya and her sister,Speaking Rain are held captive, but Kaya has to leave her sister behind. In Kaya's Hero, Swan Circling saves a baby but risks her own life. In Kaya and Lone Dog, Kaya meets a new friend a dog she names Lone dog. In Kaya Shows The Way, Kaya misses her sister so much but her other sister will soon be married. Kaya worries will she lose her other sister too? In Changes For Kaya, Kaya's Sister Speaking Rain just returned. But kaya and Steps High have to face a big forest fire they will never forget. In Kaya And the river girl, Kaya Makes a friend by saving an old woman in the water. I really enjoy these books and I am looking foward to reading Kaya's Short story collection. I hope my review helped you decide if you would like to read any of these Kaya books I recommended.

I've had this book since I was 10 (or so) and I've re-read it many times since and still enjoy it at 27. A wonderfully descriptive story based in Nova Scotia. The author gives an honest portrayal of life by the sea. Cat lovers will will love the cat's eye view of story, and the author writes in such a way that you can relate to Kiki's reactions to his lobster boat adventure. Terrific

Any of you readers who love a good British mystery and like black humor should read this book--it's clever and hilarious. The author's Philip Fletcher mysteries are priceless too.

Murder in an English boarding school? Hardly seemed likely, yet there were plenty of motives for the murder of the headmaster...everyone seemed to dislike him intensely. Chief Deputy Inspector Barnaby has his hands full trying to figure out which one hated him enough to kill him.

Considering the publisher of this work, it must be regarded as the "official" complete list (up to 1906). Volume 1 contains the preeminent orders -- Garter, Bath, Victorian Order, etc. -- each list being chronological and providing full names and dates of all persons invested, so far as information was available. (It seems astonishing that the registers of the Order of the Thistle, which began in 1687, were lost c1830 and not rediscovered until the turn of this century!)

Volume 2 is a chronological list of knights bachelors -- "ordinary" knights -- from the introduction of the Angevin dubbing ceremony c1250. Shaw's articulate essays on each order, and on the system of knights bachelors (and why most fief-holders didn't want to join), provide an antidote to American confusion on this subject.

This is a beautiful book. I have to say that it is probably my very best, most favorite cookbook. This book is a real treat. It is full of entertaining stories and beautiful photographs. The photographer, Anthony Blake, has a real gift for capturing the imagination. It's a really nice book. My second most favorite book is the Baking Book by Linda C. It's got the same photographer, Anthony B. The recepies are very reliable.

This is the best dictionary I have used for learners of English as as a second language and is also good for kids. The definitions are not circular and the ranking of word frequency is useful.
