I was very fortunate to be a guest on Mr. Sulak's radio show. After receiving the Get Your Ship Together series I listened to the first CD the same night. I have worked through the entire series and have noticed a remarkable difference in the way I think about things. I would recommend this series to any one who is serious about learning to manifest their desires. Mr. Sulak's expertise is absolutely fabulous. I can't wait to see how the rest of my life falls into place.

You owe it to yourself to own this CD set. And, it would be selfish of you not to tell your friends about it too! Not only is Scott Sulak a talented behaviorist, but he has created a program that will change your life for the better. Whether it's stress, self-esteem, addiction or past suffering this CD series will address it, teach you how to deal with it and leave you feeling amazingly empowered in the end. Disc #4 focuses on getting a good night's sleep, and, after listening to it the first time, I knew it would become my 'new best friend'.
This is the smartest $79.00 purchase I have ever made in my life, and, my only regret is that I didn't discover it sooner. Mr. Sulak should be congratulated for producing such an invaluable tool for all of us to make changes by accessing our subconscious mind. The power of this program, if you are ready to make changes in your life, is undeniably impressive.

This is the most powerful tool to change and/or improve your life!

I listened to all six CD's when I first received this, but now listen to only CD #6 almost everyday. This particular CD is on attracting and manifesting whatever you wish into your life. This works! I started to listen to CD #6 everyday because it was my favorite CD and it helped me to relax. It didn't occur to me that I was attracting and manifesting the things I wanted without effort until other people began to mention to me how lucky I am all the time. I realied that I was listening to the tape that helps manifest the things you want into your life!

If for any other reason, CD #6 is worth much more than the price of this entire set!

I was diagnosed with Bipolar 1 about a year ago. In my path of recovery after a hospitalization and an attempt to learn more about my new "label", I came across this book suggested by a fellow manic-depressive. For me, reading this was almost painful. It was like putting a mirror of words in front of me and reminding me of myself and all the horrific ups and downs I had to experience. But I love it because for those wanting to understand the mind of a manic-depressive, I doubt there is a single book that could portray this better than God Head. I would hardly call reading it as being refreshing, but it is extremely insightful and shows you the reality of a crazed mind starving for balance and happiness.

A must read!

God Head takes you INSIDE the mind of a mentally ill person, ie: the narrator of the story. This is the first book I have read to do this, and it makes for one crazy thrill ride. As you read from first person perspective you get to jump around with the craziness of the main character's head. Every loop and twist he takes you take, and every time he rambles insanely off track you follow.

Although it may sound strange, it isn't hard to get into at all. Honestly, I didn't put the book down from start to finish, it was excellent! It will have you totally absorbed and leave you with a refreshed and satisfied feeling of higher understanding.

If you haven't already added this book to your shopping cart... do so now!

We continue to be amazed at the scholarship of Scott Hahn and Curtis Mitch in writing the commentary to this Gospel. The other books in this series are equally great, and we can hardly wait until they finish their research of the entire Bible.

Students of theology and those people interested in a more detailed study, would probably like to supplement this with Jerome's Commentary and those of Raymond E. Brown especially the anchor bible series.
This guide includes topical and word studies that are very well done.

This is a great tool for understanding the Gospel of luke. The book starts off with an introduction explaining the inerrancy and the authority of scripture and the proper way of interpreting it. There are many helpful notes, word studies, and essays in this book. One of the essays is on Mary Ark of the covenant, another is on Jesus, the son of Man. The study questions in the back of the book are helpful for understanding and applying Gods word to our life. This whole series has helped me have a better understanding and a greater love for Gods word.

This book is the baseball fan's dream. Packed with almost every record imaginable, even to statistics about the umpires, it is an organized chronicle of the firsts in baseball. Records for minor league teams and by a teenager are also included. Hours can be spent in poring over the contents of this book; it is both a history of the game and a giver of credit to many players who rarely get it. I enjoyed every page.

This book contains the most discriminating baseball facts
imaginable. It is written for the baseball buff. For instance,
the first night game of baseball was recorded on 9-2-1880.
Mack holds the record as the longest manager in baseball's
history. Babe Ruth has the most bases. If there is any
fact concerning baseball, it will be listed here in all
likelihood. This book would make a wonderful gift for
any baseball enthusiast. There are previous versions
so that it has been battle-tested over the years.
Without question, the work is a collector's item.

If you're like me and thousands and thousands of other baseball fans, you love arguing about who was the best player at a particular feat, be it home runs, batting average, stolen bases, etc. The updated version of this book covers this and much more. Everything among standard records is here, along with time capsules of the period from the 1870s until now, and summaries of each season's World Series. For example, the National League originally wanted to vote in the DH back in the 1930's, but the American League didn't want it! There are enough records listed in this book to keep virtually all "stat-heads" happy. Records by position, obscure records, even a section on all-time minor league records, they're all here.

One minor flaw I noticed in the 2003 edition. Nemec doesn't always keep things completely updated. A mention of Gregg Jefferies, the ex-Met lists him as still active, even though he retired a couple seasons ago. Last season Shawn Green broke the single game total bases mark in an early season game, and yet Joe Adcock is still listed as the holder of that record.

Still, if you love baseball records you will love this book. It's full of those and quite a bit more.

I've picked up four editions of this book over the years, including the 1999 one. It's interesting to me, and fun, to watch how Nemec manages to incorporate new records and new developments in the game and at the same time maintain the book's basic structure. He even added a new era a couple of years ago--but so neatly I wasn't even aware of it at first. It also brought out the first study I've ever seen on pitchers' batting records. I'd guess there'll be another new edition in 2000, and it'll be interesting once again to see how all the wild new developments in this past season are interwoven.

This book is like a drug!

I still have my dingy 1989 copy, which helped me get through a boring summer that year! (I was only 14 at the time)

Still, all these years later, even though some of the records have changed, and there are new ballparks and teams, I still refer to my old copy all the time, especially in December and January, when it seems like spring training will never arrive!

Not just a trivia book (though fear not; you will certainly find plenty of that, such as the last wood stadium, the best one-eyed players, the toughest batter to strike out on Tuesday when the bells ring)- more of a baseball history book, humorously told and colored with fabulous stories- truth is crazier than fiction, after all. I am overjoyed to see that this book has been updated... can't wait for the 2001 copy.

A great book!

I have read them all from Clancy to Brown and LtCol.(Ret) Scott is by far one of the best military writers to date. My father served in Vietnam and after he came back my mom said he was never the same and I always wondered what it was like, why men like my father and Col Scott, why they went when they were called knowing they might not return and those that did would be forever altered. I joined the infantry at 17 to see for myself and after serving in Panama and Somalia I understand. Col. Scott says it best in the books with way he connects you to the characters you come to realize they did it for the men to their left and their right, not so much for America, but the men who represent America. Sad to know that he won't be writing anymore books but the four vietnam books he wrote are some of the greatest military fiction ever written and in my opinion should be required reading for all young soldiers and leaders.

Leonard B. Scott writes another excellent book probably relating much of his own personal experience in Viet Nam. Again he sets up his main characters detailing what they left behind only to have everything they knew and understood here in the U.S. tested and in many instances left in some far off jungle in Viet Nam. Mr. Scott, though he was an officer, describes Army life among the enlisted troops with great clarity and understanding. He may be a Mustang (enlisted later becoming an

officer) whatever, I have enjoyed reading all of his Viet Nam Era Army books and would rate this one just as good as The Expendables. The vocabulary he uses is of that era and adds in his effort to recreate life back in the late 1960's. A Must Read if you like Scott's writings.

What can I say, but what a great book.

The way that Scott writes the story to the hill is extravagant. Not only do you see the one side perspective from the Brothers you also get to see it from the Vietnamese side. As one knows you need to know the two sides of the coin in order to get the real truth. This book like SCott's others is truly something else.

I'm a young mother of a 4-year daughter going through the hard times of divorce. At this difficult time of her life, it becomes even more important to develop strong structure in our home and build a stronger relationship that can withstand the dividedness of divorce. This book helps us deal with difficult situations that arise that seemed like such small issues when married - and also has great stories any parent can relate to and laugh at. For me, a life-changing book

Review Date: 2003-05-10
Scott Brown has given my life with my children more perspective than any other book. This book is amazing, and yet, nothing in there is all that earth-shattering.

I took away from the book a few key points:

1. Keep your emotions in check.
2. Don't respond emotionally to your child, but do show your emotions (read the book to find out how!)
3. Name yours and your child's emotions
4. Truly try to understand what is going on in your child's head -- and don't guess why, ASK!
5. Involve your child in decision-making -- and this includes when you decide the consequences!
6. Persuade, don't coerce, your child to see your point.
7. Be willing to be flexible and allow your child to change your mind.

I had a revelation as I read the book that the way he talks about handling your children is how I handle conflict at work. At work, and even in my personal life (other than the kids) -- I am pretty universally known as a consensus-builder. I never force people to do what I want them to do, but I work really hard at persuading people to work with me to come up with a win-win solution for all of us. Yet with my kids, I yell at them to do what I want, when I want, how I want. I don't treat them, and their opinions, with the respect I give my co-workers and friends! How sad is that?

The best thing about the book is in the description of conflicts that we all have with our kids, and the way the same situation could have been solved using his methods. All the arguments are so accurately written that I actually laughed out loud (and was sometimes a little sad). When Brown re-wrote the scenario, using a negotiation method, it all made perfect sense. Does it take longer to negotiate? Yes. Is it really hard to keep your emotions in check? Unbelievably! But it really seems to work.

In short, buy this book. I intend to buy copies for everyone I know.

Most useful parenting book on my shelf
Helpful Votes: 6 out of 6 total.
Review Date: 2003-05-14
I have to admit to being somewhat skeptical about this book's premise. After all, most of the parenting books I've read lately tend to dwell on the importance of strict rules, discipline, and the pitfalls of being a pushover parent. Given that, what's to negotiate?

Actually, a lot of things. After a certain age, I found it physically impossible to "make" my child do anything. On the few occasions I tried, usually because of perceived lack of time or energy, the net effect was a much greater cost of time and energy for both of us. Of greatest concern to me, however, was the potential for damage to our long-term relationship. Eventually I came to realize that the negotiation approach is the only way to realize a happy, peaceful domestic life, and had been (perhaps subconsciously) using it to help my child behave more responsibly. Mr. Brown's book helped me view these interactions as part of a well-understood process, and provided me with some valuable new tools to employ. I would highly recommend it to any parent.

By the way, the techniques covered in the book are equally effective with other family members (such as one's spouse!)

If there is one thing from my childhood that has remained a part of my life as an adult, it is my love for that fat, orange, cranky tabby cat named Garfield. I recently received "In Dog Years I'd Be Dead: Garfield at 25" as a present. It is a coffee table book that looks back at the history of the fat, orange tabby. This book is an extremely comprehensive look at everything Garfield. It goes into details about everything from commercial ads to the classic cartoon series "Garfield and Friends". As a diehard Garfield fan and an artist, I appreciated seeing the earlier, rough sketches of Garfield strips. This book may be a couple of years old but it certainly covers pretty much everything that the fat cat has given to the public. I especially loved seeing some of the more sillier photos of Jim Davis and Garfield. Another favorite moment is the section with all the counterfeit Garfield products. For some reason, I find something fascinating about something as ugly as those counterfeit products. "In Dog Years I'd Be Dead..." is the ideal coffee table book for diehard Garfield fans. Great intro by columnist Dave Barry.

A Realistic Christian book on sex.

When I took a course on marriage and family counseling in seminary 20 years ago, I heard much about Ed Wheat's book, Intended for Pleasure. It is filled with good knowledge, but dry. After 20 years of pastoral ministry and 15 years of marriage, I find it both boring and limited in its approach to realistic Christian sex in marriage. A few years ago, someone introduced me to Dr. Rowenau's book, A Celebration of Sex. Because of its more human touch, I gladly gave newlyweds a copy of this book if necessary.

Dr. Farhart's book, Intimate & Unashamed does more than just offer medically sound and biblically based advice. He addresses real life sexual issues that many prudish Christians either blindly ignore or thoughtlessly condemn. He encourages the use of vibrators, lingere, massage oils, enjoying the bathtub together, fantasy, and making love only in the bedroom instead of on a deserted beach, etc. I now have a book that is both fully Christian, medically accurate, and wholesomely human or realistic.

Farhart's book is one which a Christian therapist friend of mine will rejoice over. She like Farharts thinks that Christian women are most hesitent to looseen up, but they need too. My friend tell me that she has her Chriatian clients go and buy a secular book on sex. She considers many Christian books on sex to be very limited. I agree that a Chrstian couples' love life can be enrished by secular book on sex. In addition to Intimate and Unashamed, I would recommend Ultimate Sex, The Art of Sensual Loving, Sexopedia as well as Men are from Mars and Women are from Venus for the bedroom.

I am very thankful for myself and others for Farhart's realistic book on sex for Christians.

As a Licensed Professional Counselor, I have no qualms recommending this book to the couples I see. Dr. Farhart has written an excellent book that answers all of those questions that most people have about sex, but just don't know where to look for answers. He proves that sex does not have to be dirty to be good. The information is presented in frank and honest language, which is appropriate for couples of any age. For the parent who doesn't know how to talk to their teen about sex, this book provides answers without embarrassment. Whether the question is about sexual health, better understanding of human sexuality, or how to make sex more fulfilling, I highly recommend Intimate and Unashamed.

I received this book from a friend. I am so impressed with the boldness this author approaches the subject of sex. The questions that he is able to answer makes this book the last book you will need to buy on this subject matter.

My husband and I both feel that since it is based in conjunction with the Word of God we know that the answers found inside will be in line with what we know to be Bible truths.

The section that helped me significantly was on the topic of birth control and more specifically, sterilization. It answered many of my questions on whether or not I should be the one who has the surgery or my husband.

I guarantee you will find this book to be one you can run to with ANY question you have on sex for any age. Thank you Dr. Farhart for listening to a woman's cry for a place to run to for bold, God inspiring answers! It's about time somebody wrote it an a "easy-to-read" format.

I had my husband read the book, and DR. Farhart gives sexual desires from a womans perspective (how I don't know), but he was able to inform my husband as to how a woman responds sexually to a man.

Most balanced approach yet!

Dr. Farhart has taken this issue to a new level. Unlike so many of the Christian authors on this subject (most of whom have written excellent books themselves) he has expanded the issue into areas that others have not but which many of us in Christianity today are grappling with. I thought he was incredibly courageous to be honest when Scripture was not clear but at the same time, he would make it clear as he discussed who we are in Christ and how that makes the difference in how we should view certain topics. His discussion of plastic surgery as well as a few other current "hot" topics among Christians these days clarified so much for me and enabled me to put my thoughts into focus.

In addition, Intimate and Unashamed is a book that can be read and enjoyed by both husband and wife. So many these days are primarily for the women.

Thanks Doc for your efforts and your honesty. This is a necessity in every household. It's a reminder of who we are in Christ and that God made ALL aspects of life to be enjoyed and lived to the fullest.

Doing both investigations in the military and civillian world this book is truely a 'must have'.

The great thing about it is that you can look through the book and easily brainstorm new leads to follow that you might have not otherwise tried!

It has a permanent spot next to this computer!

Beware! Contents are USA-focused.

Mainly a telephone directory of over 2500 organizations (with brief descriptions) in USA. Non-USA buyers, like me, should have known this before buying.

This book is aptly named. It's an invaluable listing of addresses, phone numbers, web sites and more, offering fascinating and helpful information on an amazingly wide variety of subjects. It's like a "Farmer's Almanac" for Investigation. I have been working in this field for years, and still found countless interesting and valuable references. Mr. Scott is truly sharing his little black book with us. A great value!

The Investigator's Little Black Book 2 is an awesome collection of important contacts and resources for the real investigator. I'm sure this book to a lot of valuable time to create and I'm amazed that Robert Scott was willing to reveal these sources while he is still alive . . .This is the type of information you could only hope to inherit from someone, not simply buy it.

Law firms, collection agencies, process servers, investigators, no one should be without it.
