Best possible recitation of "subjective reality"

This is an excellent book on Tantra. If you are a spiritual seeker or simply wondering about spiritualism or confused about religion and spiritualism or for any kind of spiritual questions in your mind this is book for you. Aghori Vimalanda, who had experienced the Ultimate, kept a low profile happened (or pre-destined) to come in contact with author who lived in India at that time. This was live narration of his encounters with ultimate spiritual energy or kundalini maa and author did an excellent job in compiling his recitation of his cosmic experience into words, of-course, as much as could be possible. Unlike many other books this is not a mere theoretical, vague and ignorant explanation of old scriptures because she (kundalini) is a "subjective reality" thus can not be imagined or understood by "objective" confined mind but can only be falsely interpreted and made poisonous. If you are wondering about some God men, who they are? How they can make some people pursue, how they start claiming themselves knower of all and thus God men - read this book before taking your next step.

This is truly one of the best books out there. If you are even considering buying this one do it. I was very, very impressed with this book. I can't say enough good things about it. The cover is exceedingly cool as well. If you follow the ideas given in this book you can and will develop great power, but power comes with a price, be prepared.
I give much respect to the author and the publisher, this may be my all-time favorite book.

A journey into other realms.

I picked up Aghora II one fine day because the picture on top of the book seemed interesting. It lay on my bookshelf for a few months when one day in the absence of anything better to do I started reading it. I had no inkling that my life was about to be transformed.

Before that I was another one of those "English-medium" taught disconnected Indian who had a passing idea of India's culture and traditions. Although I had heard all the rhetoric about the greatness of Indian culture, religion etc. etc. nothing had provided me an in depth vision of it at all. I took 2 years to read the three parts of Aghora. I read nothing else. I did not need to. Even now when I go back to them sometimes, I read something which prevents me from reading anything for weeks, such is the depth that has been addressed.

It won't be an overstatement if I would say that these books have changed my insight completely towards everything known or unknown.

I was drawn to this tarot after believing that I would never find a tarot that was right for me. Something about it interested me. Before finding it,I had no knowledge of Alchemy other than it involved something to do with turning metals into gold. This book gave me an insight into the true meaning of Alchemy, and showed how this can so easily be found in the tarot. I found that the meanings of the cards were enhanced by the reflections from Alchemy, and have provided an insight into the cards which I had not previously experienced. Although I would not recommend this set to the tarot beginner, it is well worth a read by the experienced tarot reader, or the Alchemist who is looking for a further way to refine experience as they seek the "philosopher's stone" within.

This deck is simply stunning--not just for the artwork, which is clear and classical and modern and surreal all at the same time--but also for the visual interpretations of the cards.

Generally, there is a flavor of classical alchemy, but I find that it does not overwhelm what is very much a TAROT deck.

I just find myself staring at the cards with their beautiful colors and mystery. In the context of a tarot reading, they sing.

WOW!

As a long time user and fan of various incarnations of the Rider Waite Smith deck, I went looking for something different, but not radically different in a new deck. The Alchemical Tarot does depart from some of the familiar symbology, but in a very constructive and well-defined way. Nonetheless, this is a Tarot deck in the grand tradition.

The book: I came to this deck and book with almost no knowledge of alchemy, but as I sat reading the opening chapters, which give a concise, well-written overview of the long history of this art and its eventual integration with Tarot, I found many dissaparate elements I've picked up and drawn from coming together into a cohesive whole. For those who believe that Jung's collective unconcious is a good modern explanation of why Tarot works, this is a must read.

The deck: Again, WOW! Some of the images may look strange at first, but with a bit of insight into the rationale of the artist, they are rich, fresh, and inspiring. I look forward to meditating with them, and they should raise a few eyebrows in public readings, too.

Excellent, not only as an introduction to the Tarot, but also if you want to explore its links and convergence with the wisdom of ancient alchemical tradition. Rosemary Ellen Guiley and Robert Place really know what are they doing and writing.

The book is excellent. It includes introductory sections to the Tarot and to Alchemy. Their work is not without bases; their references list includes important works of the esoteric studies and tradition. In multiple occasions there are fragments of the Rosarium Philosophorum to introduce a section of the book. There are also references to Jungian Psychology and Qabalah, to enrich an already excellent work.

Robert Place's pictures resemble traditional alchemical images, but with Place's artistic touch. If you use to contemplate the cards in a meditative exercise, you'll find these are excellent because they are beautiful, not grotesque or unrelated to traditional symbolism of the Tarot like other decks. If Place painted a few images different from some decks, it was to introduce important and congruent images from the alchemical tradition. This enriches the understanding of the Tarot from the alchemical perspective, and vice versa.

A beautiful book and deck package. It fills me with good vibrations. Good job.

Watch Video Here: http://www.amazon.com/review/R34EIRLJN7FVBJ This was the artbook that started all the scrapbook-styled artbooks. It's easily the best and it still is. Inside the book's cardboard cover was some really top quality dust jacket. It's comparable to movie posters and its glossy.

This book had 160 pages and was literally filled to the brim with tons of stuff. Inside were "collectible" cards, storyboards, small booklets, post-it notes and amazing beat boards. Numerous 2-page spread of the beat boards were breathtaking to look at.

Stocks do run out for artbooks, as I've realized, looking at older artbooks from amazon.com. If you're into buying artbooks, you really don't want to miss this.

There are more pictures on my blog. Just visit my Amazon profile for my blog's link.

It has certain features you do not expect. Sometimes I could not determine at first sight if pictures were 2d or just real materials. Like the enveloppe, the playingcard holders and other "fearsome commodities". Wonderfull picturebook with well made drawings and photographs. Outstanding quality. It might have been found in the monsterhouse!

It looks almost like a scrapbook and is filled to the rim with drawings, renders, concept art and fun stuff. Very inspirational. It is just as great as the "Open Season" book which is also a must-have for all fans of animation.

This is based on the older published version but with updated material like newer ignition and emission regulation. This book has more colored pictures than the previous edition.
I generally like the previous edition more because it was what I learned with. There is less color and it goes straight to the point. I have only skimmed through this book. Other than that, its a good book to learn about automotive technology.
If you really want to learn, go through each chapter throughly and do the review and questions. (and of course, do hands on)

I not being one to read novels much at all, found this book very easy to read! I liked the fact that the author used historical documents to support his book, and had learned a great deal about Bat Masterson himself. The author also includes a lot of other characters that Bat had associated with during his time. I also come to learn that Bat had really been involved in a lot of small town politics, which in a sense was surprising to me for the life style he led.

I have not read other books of Bat Masterson, but I feel I don't need to after reading this book.

I have been watching the old Bat Masterson TV series recently and I got curious about who he really was. This book is very well written and full of stories and excerpts for other biographies and newspaper articles to create a pretty complete picture of William Barclay Masterson.

Mr. Dearment has provided an excellent read. The data is presented in a well thoughtout manner while the writing style is easy to read and comprehend. It seemed like there was less of Bat's later life presented then earlier days but that may be because there was more to present. I tend to read mostly non-fiction, historical books and found this to have been a very worthwhile project to read.

Review Date: 2008-01-20
This is a well researched and written book about a western icon. Unlike many westerns, this one is a very interesting read - sharing not only the life of Bat Masterson but the gunfighters and others who lived around them and their experiences. For example, a whole chapter is on Jim Masterson and his experiences in southern Kansas and Colorado in the late nineteenth century. Although the book does an excellent job of covering Bat during his Dodge days and especially his two years as sheriff of the county and the "battle of the Plaza" afterwards, I especially liked the stories about his late years in Denver and New York, including his close calls with possible gunfights during that time. Yes, Bat Masterson did not kill 27 men, and only one is credited to him, but it is clear from this book, that the reason for this was that most people stayed clear of him because of the recognition of his prowess with a six gun. This book is not only a history of Bat Masterson but an excellent history of the gunfighters who crossed his path. Consequently, I highly recommend this for any individual interested in that period of US history.

This is a wonderful story, I love Hoban's books as they work well on both the adult and the child levels. This is bascially the story of Frances, a badger who is struggling with the fact that her little sister Gloria is having a birthday. Frances does not say it out loud, but rather through her actions and her little rhymes we realise that she is unhappy about it, that her sister seems to have all the birthdays and she doesn't have as many. Something which almost all children struggle with at some stage or another.

The lovely hting about this book is that the parents are so lovely and patient, and the sub-text is really fun for adults reading it. What Frances does makes for great fun. She borrows two weeks pocket money from her mother to buy Gloria a present, but then she ends up 'accidentally eating half of it - and the other half looks distinctly threatened by her justification.

I will guarantee your family will enjoy this story, and the other Frances stories as well - they are highly recommended as great good fun.

Driving around a curve on a mountain backroad, I saw what looked to be a book lying in the middle of the road ahead. I stopped, opened the door and reached down to pick it up. Must have fallen out of someone's car and then been run over: the cover pockmarked by gravel, the pages loose.

The title instantly grabbed my awareness: A Box of Rain - Almost 40 years of a prodigious poetic output, the sculpting of over 250 songs.

This collection of lyrics represents most of what the Grateful Dead performed - along with many songs either done by other groups or sung by Hunter himself. This book is a superb fusion of the mystical and the mundane - If Garcia's music was the skeleton of the Dead, these lyrics surely must be the flesh.

Would the Dead have acheived anything near their anointed state without these lyrics? I truly doubt it. Robert Hunter and Bob Dylan are in a class by themselves; these writings bear witness to that fact.

This is a really effective authoritative publication of Hunter's lyrics. Robert Hunter had a big impact on the lyrical imagination of 60's rock, and this book bears witness to that fact. It presents the lyrics with minimal distractions, which causes my only complaint with this book. Hunter's notes/comments are sparse and usually very brief. Some additional explanations and background information, while perhaps being somewhat distracting from the lyrics, would make this more interesting.

...and my tunes were played on the harp unstrung would you hear my voice come through the music would you hold it near as it were your own?' Part of the experience of a Grateful Dead concert (and now The Other Ones, Ratdog, Phil Lesh and friends, and Mickey Hart's band) was listening to the words of Robert Hunter dance and twirl in your head. Hunter probably isn't the greatest American poet of the second half of the 20th Century, but he does know how to turn a phrase, borrow a line, and mix a metaphor. And his strange mix of phrases went well with the strange mix of American music written by the late Jerry Garcia. Box Of Rain is a must reference for anyone interested in the lyrical end of rock and roll. The book will clear up many an on going debate on just what Jerry was singing all those nights so long ago. And for all those people who can't understand why the Grateful Dead was so successful, this book will let you in on part of the secret. 'If you get confused, just listen to the music play....'

I bought this book because I started thinking of building a cluster in my basement just to experiment with parallel programming. Over the past few weeks reading and rereading sections of the book I've developed the confidence to get started. This won't be the only book I'll need. The author is very clear and unapologetic about that. I still need a good book on Linux and programming with MPI. I don't know everything I'll need to know, but I know far more about what I DON'T know and what other work I need to do.

All in all an excellent and very readable overview.

This book provides an exhaustive step-by-step examination of all of the elements that need to be considered for architecting a Linux cluster. The coverage is application neutral: High Performance Computing (HPC), Web load-balancing clusters, Enterprise computing centers; no matter. The details common to all clusters are thoroughly discussed.
As a Linux cluster developer of 7 years, I was able to expand and improve my own design processes to better cover all of the issues necessary to architect my designs. I heartily recommended this book to anyone designing a cluster of any size.

* a little bit too chatty (e.g. on page 162 he starts lecturing you about the meaning of 'freedom' after using the book's and your minds real estate telling you on page 36 about disposing of packaging hardware, ... @@, ;-))
* still using RH for 'serious' Linux work?
* pg 172, statement about Debian not supporting AMD "as of this writing" (?!) Could have just included the sentence. "check as of your reading of the book"
* no mention of transmeta's technological hardware advances (company itself may very soon go south) but their 'ideas' are really promising (for servers with very low power comsumption)
* pg 209, problems with RAID and root filesystem and things. You could just run Debian from a Live CD and leave all writable RAID disks along

The book describes in simple reproducable steps how to build a medium to medium big sized cluster. It also devides the clusters into the three main types,

HPC *High performance computing,
High Throughput and
High Availability cluster

and describes their usages. The book is describing cluster projects more from a bird view and gives a whole sight overview including budget calculations, comparing several architectures also by their technology and environmental conditions (Power usage, Cooling requirements etc.).

The book is not only hard to beat but also the perfect companion to the Linux Enterprise Cluster from Karl Kopper. While Karls book is a bit more practical it concentrates only on the technical configuration of "small" clusters.

Here is where Lubke comes in and extends that knowledge by the many environmental factors *Budget, technical considerations, Calculations, Estimates, Planning what to expect from your hardware *Performance, Weight, Heat, Flooring considerations etc.

After you read the book, you will have learned all necessary steps to build your own clusters. The "only" thing left to you is to put the ship to water ;-)

An incredible book and a real eye opener !!

Outstanding value

This book is a very straightforward, clearly written and valuable introduction to Linux clustering. Geared toward system folks, it also provides numerous `on-ramps' into the basics of clustering to accommodate quick, relevant review of supporting technology for the reader. It is essentially a map for getting from start to finish in any Linux cluster project. Specific situations, conditions, and expectations differ across projects, of course, and such points are identified well in the text with pointers to additional information provided.

Scientific computing (HPC) is addressed well, and is more of the topic than any other cluster flavor, though the others are discussed as well (after all, who wouldn't want a side order of high availability with their HPC?). My cluster background personally was mostly high availability (Microsoft Wolfpack), so I appreciated the HPC overview, especially since I was already building a Linux cluster for my bio-algorithms that depended on HPC. This book helped me get every gflop out of my admittedly 2ndhand student hardware.

If you are getting involved with a cluster project or have one potentially on the horizon, and need a clear overview of what may lay ahead, pick up this book. For its measly sticker price, you get two solid discussion weeks with an expert. Go calculate that one:)

I purhcased this book two years ago for my then 13 year old daughter (an extremely "picky" eater) in the hope that she would expand her food horizons. In my wildest dreams I wouldn't have expected this to work so well. She has made several of these tasty dishes for the family and we all love them. We're vegetarians and we have discovered many delicious recipies in this wonderful cookbook. One of our favorites is the "Carrot Ginger Soup" recipe. If you enjoy cooking healthful, tasty meals from simple, unprocessed foods you will be pleased with this book. Thank you, Chef Bobo!

I just love this book! As a mother of 2 boys and a Holistic Health Counselor to many families as well as individuals, this book has been a great resource. The recipes are easy to make and delicious. People of all ages enjoy the food and the children are having fun helping to prepare meals. Thank you Chef Bobo for what you are doing in the school and now sharing it with the world at large. I am buying copies for many people and I hope that more people will become aware of your work and that of your assistants.

This book is a childhood favorite of my husbands. It would be great if we could make it our sons favorite as well. Hopefully they'll put this book back in print!

I have been trying to buy this for my youngest child, lol [she is thirty] and for myself to read to seven grandkids. I bought this for said youngest when she was about ten, and it was her favorite book. Her nephew, my oldest grandchild now 19 ripped it when he was a baby. No fair prince is online for a copy. Hundreds of dollars is way out of line, reads 'gouge' to me. I agree with the writer that suggests we pursue the publishers to reprint, it would be about time. Join the party, how can we get started?

Simon and Schuster, do you see these prices??? I am writing this not as a review, but as a sort of petition to the publisher, to get this book back in print. I hope that this works ... new generations of children deserve to love this book as much as ours has! If you agree, please select "Yes".
