The Best Psychopharm Reference!

The editors have really done a fantastic job of compiling psychopharm data into one reference. The reference covers medications by category and class using tons of tables and a standardized layout that allows one to contrast and compare. The "extra touches," such as tables of drug interactions, tables listing the effects of each med on specific neuroreceptors, and tables listing the freq of adverse reactions, make this reference a gem. Several other wonderful things have been thrown in as well--a section on ECT, a section on herbal products, and a patient information sheets that can be copied and passed on to patients. In summary, this reference provides a clear and concise view of psychotropic meds. A must buy!

I used this book with a 2nd grade unit on Texas. I got the idea from a friend who teaches 7th grade Texas History. Readers follow Timmy on an adventure through the state. He visits several great places along the way. It was fun to use the illustrations and the clues to try and figure out what area we were in. My students and I enjoyed our field trip across Texas. Tumbelweed Tom on the Texas Trail is another great tool for teachers.

This book gives a brief but helpful history of tea as well as descriptions of how tea is cultivated and produced in various countries. It also helps to simplify the classification of tea leaf grades and tea blends. It includes a section on brewing methods and a directory of tea types and their origins. Contains vivid photography and is well written.

Here are some features of this collection that readers might want to know about. It includes the original notes to *Vathek* (the 1816 version) and *The Giaour* and presents them as they were intended to be presented: in separate sections following each work. Editorial glosses and footnotes, on the other hand, are at the bottom of each page--my students, who don't like hunting for endnotes, tell me this makes a real difference for them. In addition to the three main works, *Three Oriental Tales* includes a sample from *The Arabian Nights* and Oriental tales from *The Spectator*, Johnson's *Rambler*, Goldsmith's *Citizen of the World* (Letter 33, an Orientalist send-up of Orientalism), and the complete text of Maria Edgeworth's "Murad the Unlucky." It also includes Francis Jeffrey's contemporary review of *The Giaour* and a set of recent critical responses to the tales, plus a chronology of literary Orientalism in Britain from the early translations of *The Arabian Nights* to Byron's death in 1824.

Everyone can think back to that special teacher who said just the right thing at just the right time, and holds a special place in your heart! What a great book to buy and give to them to say thank you! As a teacher myself, I hope that I have been that special teacher to a child. I bought the book for my 9 year-old son's teachers and principal this year. What a heart-warming book to let teachers know they DO make a difference!

The story line is this: Susie Cucumber is a dog (you'll have to read how she got her name). One day, her beloved little girl owner comes down with the measles, so she can't come out and play. So what does Susie do? She writes her a letter! Word soon gets around, and mothers start asking Susie to write their sick children letters, too. I can't say this enough... I love this book!
