Entreupreneurship in the Thatcher years
Helpful Votes: 0 out of 0 total.
Review Date: 2000-06-16
Hodgson's first book shrewdly analyses the culture of the Thatcher years with this autobiographical insight into the development of a business from almost bankrupt to the most successful in it's class over just a few years.

Hodgson, with his fanatical attention to detail and total self belief takes us through the turmoil and triumphs of a business not normally associated with glamour. However, this 'should have been a pop star' larger than life Paul McCartney fan shows us how a lot of committment, drive and determination can make any business a success.

Recommended for any would be entrepreneur

There are only a small handful of books that I can highly recommend to someone who wants to be successful in real estate investing, and "The Courage to Be Rich" is one of my top choices. It is one of the books I enjoy reading again and again.
In the book, Mark O. Haroldsen instills the concept of IGDS (I'm going to die someday), driving home the fact that we all are born with a finite number of days in our lives. What we do with those days and the sooner we get started are up to us. The sooner we face that fact and summon up the courage to go after success, the better.
Mark introduces in easy to understand terms, what it takes to become a real estate investor and how residential real estate investing is an excellent vehicle toward riches. He tells us about fixer uppers (yuks) and how "Yuks create big bucks".
Although I first read this book in the 80's, I still enjoy it and recommend it if you are thinking of getting into the real estate investing market.

Excellent life changing book

This was the text Brian used in one of his contemporary courses at Macquarie University, Australia - MCSI205 - "Sex, Money and Friendship - Biblical Perspectives".

It presents an insightful look at modern day greed that has been hidden by social convention and convenience. As Christians we generally think we're pretty in control in the greed department, but read this book and you might have second thoughts.

Very accessible and easy to read, it exposes the reality of greed that so many of us take part in and don't even realise or choose to not think about. Be ready to be personally challenged, it is quite thought provoking and hopefully enough to change your lifestyle for His glory.

A must read for any Christian in today's throw away, rush-rush, self-centered society. It's not too long and easy to read on public transport.

How to Get Rich in Russia received a favorable review in the Financial Times on Friday, July 12, 2002, article by Paul Taylor entitled: "A how-to manual for tapping Russia's riches and reforms. Paul Taylor looks at the advice offered by a specialist in investing in the country." "As Jack Matlock, the former US ambassador to the Soviet Union, notes in the foreword, there are very few books that describe as succinctly and clearly how the Russian stock market works as well as its legal and regulatory context."
