as an outgoing WM who just days ago stepped down out of the east, i recommend this book to all new or sitting WM's as a guide for not so much answers to the everyday lodge problems, but as a guide to help you know where to go & get the answers & info you must have. Make your year in the east more pleasant by always appearing to know where to look &/or always having a plan of attack.

This is a good reference book, it is even endorsed by Samuel H. Elbert and he wrote the forward. Elbert is part of the team of Pukui/Elbert that produced Place Names of Hawaii, which I also recommend, even more highly. "Hawaiian Street Names" focuses strictly on Oahu street names and includes many street names that are not included in "Place Names of Hawaii". For instance, Kuhio (there should be a line (kahako or macron) over the u and the o) was the one of the names of a famous prince and the name of a main street in Waikiki which is named for him. Kuhio is included in "Place Names of Hawaii", but curiously no translation is given; however "Hawaiian Street Names" provides a translation.

This book includes the 'okina and kahako in Hawaiian spelling like any good contemporary publication with Hawaiian words should, so that Hawaiian words that have them are spelled correctly. But as you may or may not know, the 'okina and the kahako are not so easy to render on the internet or on a computer unless you download a Hawaiian font, even still others may not see the 'okina and kahako correctly displayed on their computer if they have not downloaded the same font. The 'okina is a consonant and is represented by an upside down or inverted apostrophe. A kahako is a macron, a line over a vowel and indicates a long vowel. But I have digressed.

Please be aware that the original publication had 4,000 entries and 170 pages, but the updated edition has 5,000 entries and 192 pages. See my image so that you can see the difference in how the covers look. I have both editions and there is even a slight difference in width and height. I measure the updated version at 6" wide by 9" high and the original edition at 5.5" wide by 8.5" high. Because the updated version has a thousand more entries, I recommend the updated version. I assume Amazon is selling the updated version but I am not certain of this. If you are buying from a seller other that Amazon it may not be that easy to tell what you might get, especially if you are buying a used copy. If you are at all interested in the Hawaiian language or want to know what those Hawaiian street names mean, you will not be disappointed with this book.

This book is a positive look at the grieving process as told by Stephanie Adams who lost a loved one and writes of this experience. The book is a rather simple and honest look at all that goes on when we lose someone dear to us and gives us some ideas on how to handle that process.

"He Only Takes the Best" is not a deep and ponderous tome. What it does is go right to the point on how awful it is to lose a dear one and gives us things we can do to get past that process and move on.

Months ago I lost my mom and am always looking for ideas on how to put this devastating experience in some context. Stephanie's book did help in that process and gave me some thoughts to grasp onto and process for which I am grateful.

If you lost a loved one, then this book will be a help to you.

This is a comprehensive and well written book. I found it useful and interesting, and I think a book that can be of use to many who are either experiencing a problem with an addiction or want to learn more about addictions. It's also - and perhaps most important - a book intended to be used as a journal, so is also a very personal book that can help in many ways. Definitely recommended.

This book is awesome! I have had the privilege of meeting Rich Thomson. He is a man with a serious love for mankind and a strong desire to see them well. He epitomizes the love of Christ for people. His book is filled with insightful knowledge of the disorders. It has been an excellent study help with my biblical counseling classes! I recommend it to everyone, even non-believers. It can still help.

It basically answers the questions : 'Who am I?' and 'What can I do to have mastery over my life?' This is a fiction with an Asian Chinese flavour. The attitude is new age and excellent for those seeking healing and positive life transformation. There are useful tips in it which we can all use to lighten our load.Recommended.

I've learned more about Youth in the first two chapters than I have in my time working with them. Its taking me a while to read. There is a paragraph, a line, a word to underline or highlight on every page that hits home to our Youth Problem and how to go about solving it. This book is excellent for working with Both Christian and non-Christian Young People. Youth Leaders, get it and read it. The ideas and bible study in it will enhance your work with your Youth!

As an entreprenuer myself, the title of this book caught my eye. I have created a successful business from a product I developed and patented specifically for my own baby when she was born. My vision is to someday pass this wonderful business on to my daughter. I am energized by life as an entreprenuer, and dream of my daughter someday experiencing life the same way. "Hey Kidz, Your Entrepeneur is Showing" really got me thinking about how to teach my daughter the skills and mindset she will need to have as a successful business woman herself. I just like to say that I highly recommend this book. The author has tapped into something that we don't hear much about in Christian circles. No matter what your present financial situation the author shows you exactly what you need to do to come out of it into financial increase, prosperity and wealth. Once you get started reading it you will not want to put it down until you finish it. It's different from any other book you'll read on finances and prosperity. I RECOMMEND IT HIGHLY!
