I very rarely quit reading a book before completion, but this is the exception. Frankly, I found it boring. The premise
sounds great: Two British guys exploring America through the experiences of local festivals. I'm not sure by what basis they
chose the particular festivals they attended. By the fourth event, I predicted that they would 1) find a population of Americans
to criticize, 2)find a reason why the festival was boring and leave for their motels early and 3) find a reason to criticize
the city/government/mode of transportation/city inhabitants/fellow festival attenders. In their defense, of the three adventures
I read, I wouldn't want to be a part of any of their choices either! Maybe England has better, local celebrations and attractions.

Wonderful overview of 20th century history

Norman Rich delivers another stunning account of diplomatic history this time from 1914 through the mid 1990's. For those
unfamiliar with his work his account of Great Power diplomacy between 1814-1914 is among some of the best ever done. While
this work is not quite as strong and strikes me as a little less thorough it still hits the mark. Beginning with the outbreak
of World War 1 and tracking the history and counter myths the book provides an excellent summation. It the first we really
only see European history with a little on the US and Asia. This book is truly a world history account and with so much to
cover Rich is forced to glaze over a large amount. As usual it is pretty free from political bias and really makes the reader
question the foreign policy decisions of previously untouchables such as Ronald Reagan. The rise of Asia and the Soviet Union
are also very well done in this book and Rich displays an unusually keen understanding for the amount of pages he has to write
on. One of the strong points of both books is the wonderful bibliography that has tons of suggestions for further reading.
This really is an ideal book to start with when looking at diplomatic history of the world or just for gaining an understanding
of the important events that happened in the 20th century.

I had the opportunity to meet Rich Allen as he gave a mini instruction to our group of teachers on questioning skills. After
reading this book I have kept several 3x5 cards on the ideas from this book and incorporate them into my classroom often.
I have taught for 15 years, am a staff developer, and an adjunct at a local teacher college, adn I highly recommend this book
to accelerate learning in your classroom.

This book is a great choice if you are interested in trying to memorize scriptures. It is geared towards women and has very
meaningful devotions as well. There are tear out cards at the end of the book so you can take the scriptures with you and
tape them places you would like to see them.
It would be a wonderful book to keep and also to give as a gift to other women you know who desire to live in Gods Word.

This book is similar to the Redskins A to Z except that it concentrates just on the 1st Joe Gibbs era and it has many more
interesting details, little stories which I had forgotten about. This is a must have for any Redskins fan. I love Rich Tandler's
books because he comes up with information you can't find in any other Redskins books.
