I read through this book the other day. It is dead on right.
If you want to be rich, why would you invest in ways that the rich avoid?
The rich do not buy & hold stocks. They keep their money safe & only invest when they find realy good deals, real estate, businesses, stocks, etc.
I did not buy this book for me, I already do what the the book suggests ( as do all the rich people I know), I did buy the book for my daughter.
If you read a negative review of this book, it is not written buy a rich guy. It is probably written by someonte trying to earn a commission on what he can sell you.
If you need advice on investing, ask someone with a lot of money, not a 40-50 year old stock salesman with less money than you.
If you want to be rich, invest like the rich invest. If you do not know how, BUY THIS BOOK.

Caywood takes on materialism within the Christian church and posits that Christians often focus on issues that do not cost the church any money. He argues that the love of money has separated the Church from the joy of living in Christ. He asserts that many Christians have lost the sight of focus of the Bible -- feeding the poor, fighting for social justice, and loving unconditionally. Caywood believes that one can only truly experience the richness and joy of God by giving up money and power. While Caywood aggressively challenges the Christian church, he does so in a loving, thought-provoking manner. Christians and those dedicated to serving the community, both nationally and internationally, should read this book.

Caywood, once the Executive Director of the largest homeless rescue mission in the world, now practices what he preaches. With much criticism from many, he has chosen to live a simple lifestyle with very few personal possession and continues to dedicate his life to loving and serving the people of his community and his world.

"Who is the man that'd risk his neck for his brother-man?" (Has it already been used?)

Review Date: 2007-07-25
One of the good aspects of Mr. Cage (and I don't mean Nicholas, of course!!!) is that he doesn't want to be a world-saving superhero; although he wears a rather flashy costume and, sometimes, goes toe-to-toe with superheavies like "Dr. Doom" (but, then again, who hasn't had a run-in with him in the "Marvel Kingdon?"), he makes it quite clear that he's only trying to make a living, and, if he has to knock some evil guys silly in the process, that is too bad!!!
The stories were all excellent, but the highlights of the book are truely issues 48 and 49 with the beginning of his partnership/friendship with "Iron Fist": "Bushmaster" is one real mean dude, "Misty Knight" can give "Foxy Brown" a run for her money (but "Dr. Claire Temple" isn't a slouch, either) and even those two penny-ante hardcases ("Comanche" and "Shades") look menacing. All his and John Byrne's art, too. Awesome, is it not?
Can't wait for Volume 3...

Inside a man's mind

Review Date: 2006-09-26
Reviewed by Beverly Pechin for Reader Views (9/06)

Jamie Rich somehow delves deep within the mind and soul of his main character, Lance Scott, and reveals a realistic view of man's mind and how it works. While I'm certain the book wasn't intended to open the window to a whole gender's way of thinking, it certainly happened upon it, even if only by mistake, with the end results being a quick smack to the forehead as you realize you know this guy in real life!

Lance Scott is a typical 20-something man. What he has isn't enough, what he had was great but now gone and what he chases after isn't always what he wants once he gets it. A mixture of reality meeting fantasy, this outstanding novel encompasses the life and desires of Lance Scott who is searching for a comfort zone in his life. Facing numerous relationships, always searching for Mrs. Right but never realizing he had her until she's gone, and never quite content with his latest conquer, this quirky and somewhat humorous man finds a place in your heart. By the end of the book you're not sure what you think of Lance.... is he a pompous jerk, a caring and loving man, an inspiring artistic type or just a lost soul in the sea of complex relationships. At times you will love him and wish you were the "mysterious blue headed woman" he's intrigued with finding again and then within a few pages you'll be so angry at him for his own stupidity that you want to scream!

With a completely realistic style of writing, Jamie Rich finds a way to bring across everything from the somewhat disturbingly sarcastic sense of humor of his main character to the desperado, soul searching lost romantic boy trapped inside. While you will find yourself smirking at the completely realistic comments and attitudes we've all experienced in our life of romance, the author's ability to truly bring the character to life is uncanny and surreal.

A combination of fiction and romance, the story appeals to everyone from teens to those well into "middle age" who still remember what it's like to be 20-something and searching for the answers to life's questions. As you cheer on Lance's adventures, laugh at his sarcastic and quick wit, or cry with his train wreck relationships, you will truly not want to put this book down for a minute. When the final page is turned you will simply wonder how this talented writer will ever top something so good.

My mother-in-law was diagnosed with COPD several years ago, and is now in the final stages. She has been through so much, especially in the past six months as her life has slowly deteriorated due to breathlessness, constant illness and fatigue. This book provided very informative and personal views of COPD patients and gave me hope. It also reinforced the fact that we all need to take control of our health issues and persist if we feel we are not receiving the care that is available to us. I highly recommend this to anyone living with or supporting someone who is living with this terrible disease.

I knew little about poetry before reading this book. When I was done, I knew much more and was inspired to read more. Halpern is insightful and thorough here. His sections of analysis are well structured AND exciting. I finished the book wishing he had written more.

Breadth, not depth

This is a good book if you're just starting to research, or learn, about Jacqueline Kennedy Onassis. The format is chronological; it includes all of the major events of her life spanning childhood to her final days in New York City. Each section is about two to four paragraphs with photos to support much of the text. The content, while being thorough, is sparce due to the book's attempt to list everything (ergo, the title) that encompassed her life. There are, however, some interesting trivial facts about her (and President Kennedy) that make reading this book fun to read, as these tidbits of information aren't usually included in many of the more in-depth biographies on her. Overall, this is a good book by the Everything Series to launch someone's study of Jacqueline Kennedy Onassis.

Experiences Of An Ornithologist Along The Highways And Byways Of Bolivia: Collecting Birds In An Isolated, Magnificent Land In The Nineteen Thirties is the outstanding autobiographical story of ornithologist Melbourne Armstrong Carriker, Jr. and his three expeditions in Bolivia back in the 1930's. Vividly detailed with an informed grasp of the South American terrain and with the poignant authorship of first hand observation, Experiences Of An Ornithologist Along The Highways And Byways Of Bolivia remarkably depicts a riveting tale of survival, disobedience, hardships, will-power, the unexpected, and the courage to explore. Experiences Of An Ornithologist Along The Highways And Byways Of Bolivia is very strongly recommended reading as an epic true-life tale of one man's extraordinary personal and professional accomplishments.

Undine, an Ivy League black publicist, is left pregnant and broke when her husband embezzles her money and vanishes. Returning to the Brooklyn projects she left, she enters a world of drug addicts and welfare - and her family roots - in this dark story of a woman who falls and works her way out of poverty. The full-cast audio production of Fabulation Or The Re-Education Of Undine lends a fine, full drama to the involving story.

Addictive reading

Who better to write an action/adventure/conspiracy novel about the "Drug War" than a retired U.S. Customs Special Agent with service in the U.S. Navy, U.S. Army, U.S. Marshal's Service and has been a Tactical Instructor at the Federal Law Enforcement Training Center? It has occurred to me that the drug war seems to drag on, decade after decade, the men and women in the trenches apparently helpless to have an impact on the problem, their efforts little more than a token show of force. But now I have found something that at least offers a plausible explanation for the existence of this problem that plagues millions of our nations citizens, causes untold damage to our economy and forces upon each of us a police presence that routinely flirts with the erosion of our civil liberties and constitutional rights. Special Agent Ben Rich brings all of the necessary tools to the table to take the reader on a raw-boned, in your face 367-page high-speed joy ride down a drug war superhighway. His well developed characters, with character flaws that allow none to cast the first stone, give the reader an insight to the men who daily risk their lives in a war where honor and integrity are measured in degrees of blind trust to a maze of agencies that reward those who don't ask too many questions. And if you don't like guys who act like guys, talk like guys do to other guys and see the world through battle scarred eyes, then leave this book alone and visit the romance section for another selection. This book is exciting from beginning to end, a book that I couldn't put down until finished the first time and have since read twice more! There is only really one criticism that I have of the work. Where's the sequel?
