What a wonderful thoughtful book of truths. This book hits directly to the heart, mind and spirit. It is so true that we have been conditioned to be good boys and girls. Humbly serve and stay under the "Thumb". I am excited about the lessons and tell everyone that I see to read this book.

This should be required reading for every Massage Therapist or anyone considering a career in massage

Massage Therapists are notorious for making excuses about not making money...
-we just want to help people.
-we just want to take away everyone's pain and problems.
-We don't need much to live on. It is more noble to live in poverty.
- I can't charge for something that makes people feel so good.
The truth is that you need money to pay the bills, save for retirement and take nice vacations. Having money doesn't mean you are a bad person or that you aren't doing good. Working as a massage therapist, the number of hours is limited by what you can do physically and by the hours in the day.
There is no reason a massage therapist can not make $100,000 a year other than we are taught things in massage school like - don't quit your day job and charge really low prices to get people in the door.

The only thing that is holding you back from making that kind of money is your beliefs and all the excuses you make about how you can't make that money. Steve has a good concept of what it takes to change beliefs and thoughts having been brainwashed himself at one time and being deprogrammed. We need to deprogram the massage profession starting with the schools and associations!

I read this book in one sitting. While addressing a very serious problem in our society (the legal profession) David Marston does it with great humor and absolute fact. He exposes the "Lawyers' Club" and he confirms the suspicions we all have about the legal system -- it's all about the money. I only wish I had read "Malice Aforethought" before I paid outrageous fees to too many dishonest lawyers.

The Most Comprehensive Career Guide Going

Spare yourself the ordeal of researching the hundreds of books out there on career guidance. Ken Lawson's KISS GUIDE TO MANAGING YOUR CAREER is the most comprehensive, beautifully written and visually appealing work on the subject you'll ever need (and I speak with authority: I'm a 40-something professional with over 20 years of experience in changing jobs and reading books about it). Lawson helps you think seriously about yourself ("What moves you?"), how to take charge of your career, plan and implement your job search, and how to keep networking ("the most important career management activity you can pursue") for continued career vitality. He's also provided excellent Appendices, including "Good Books" that go into greater depth about resumes, interviewing, recruiters, freelancing and consulting, networking, on-line job sites, negotiating, starting a business, office politics and more. In short, the KISS GUIDE TO MANAGING YOUR CAREER is simply terrific.

What are you good at? What will make you happy?

With this guide in hand, you can finally take charge and manage your career. Discover your key career objectives and personal goals and then navigate the job market to land the right job. Ken Lawson will show you how to develop options, make choices and maximize your strengths through identifying your values, skills and personal qualities.

Ken Lawson is a counselor, coach and educator who works with individuals and groups in a variety of career management roles. He discusses how you can manage your career, find out what you are really good at, move from one job to another, develop a career action plan, take charge of a job search, present yourself in the best light and how to network for career vitality.

Throughout the book you will find little extras. These are fun boxes of trivia, a definition of an term, a Web site address or a fun character pointing out a very important point, a complete no-no, a technical detail or whispering the inside scoop to you.

If you want success and satisfaction from your career, Ken advises you to put yourself in command of your life. He empowers you by helping you to paint your own career canvas. When you go to a party, are you proud of your answer to: "So, what do you do?"

Are you more interested in objects, information, concepts or people? This question can lead you into a job which consists of arranging items (perhaps this could be a secretary who is organizing files) or coaching (where you are helping people on a more personal level to improve their lives through your own life skills). They are quite different types of jobs and your interests will show you how you will fit into one of the four basic categories of interest.

Once you have taken inventory of your interests and skills, you can then determine your own personal style. Are you dependable, detail-minded, frank, fair-minded? Are you an extrovert or an introvert? You can actually determine your personality type as well. Once you know who you are and what you want to do, Ken takes you to the next step. Gearing up for your job search.

The all important resume is discussed in detail. What do you put in a resume? What should you NEVER put in a resume?

If you still want to do more research (this book is comprehensive), you can look for some of the books in the resource section. There is also a list of Web sites you can visit that look very helpful. A simple glossary and index, make your life easier and help you save time. Perhaps if more people would read this book before making a career choice they would have a great map for their future.

I used to own a metaphysical bookstore, so I've seen a lot of this type of book. This is one of the best of it genre. Modern authors like Tony Robbins and Harv Eker can be motivating, for sure, but if you want to get to the heart of the true laws of abundance and success, don't overlook this book. Where do you think the modern guys got their info? If you don't read this book, then read other books by Wattles, Hill, etc., or just get this one - keep it simple.

"Matthews: The Historic Adventures of a pioneer Family" is a wonderfully written book which looks into the past of a prominent Southeast Missouri family. This book provides lessons in business, success and morality, as taught by the late C.D. Matthews and the generations that followed.

After C.D. Matthews settles in Southeast Missouri and begins building and expanding his business empire, be prepared to be reading for hours. I did not put the book down from page 100 through 306.

Matthews: The Historic Adventures Of A Pioneer Family by Edward C. Matthews III is the biographical story of the author's family who settled in Southeast Missouri two hundred years and eight generations ago. A superbly written family history, this is the story of generations of men and women whose ambitions and perseverance were to shape and influence the entire region. Beginning with the settlement of the then newly acquired Louisiana Territory, nd continuing with the subsequent growth and development of Southeast Missouri, these are very human stories of Matthews family members complete with the private tragedies, public accomplishments, and diverse personalities. At the core of the story is C.D. Matthews who was born a poor farm boy in the 1840s and who grew up to risk his life supplying corn and wheat to the Confederate forces during the Civil War. Surviving the war, he went on to amass a fortune in the fields of banking, lumber, railroads, and land. Also available in a hardcover edition (0976041316, $35.00), Matthews: The Historic Adventures Of A Pioneer Family is informative and fascinating reading, and could well serve as a template for others who are thinking of writing their family histories.

"Mayors in the Middle" is a must read for anyone interested in the politics of education. In a period characterized by growing public outcry that our schools our failing, increasing federal discretion over education policy resulting from the enactment of the No Child Left Behind Act, and countless waves of education reforms, cities such as Baltimore, Boston, Chicago, Cleveland, DC, and Detroit have moved in the direction of giving mayors authority to control the public schools. In their new book, Henig and Rich have compiled ground break research from leading scholars in the field to examine the new phenomena of mayoral control of public schools. Although it may be too early to fully conceptualize the broad-ranging implications of mayoral control of public schools, Henig and Rich raise critical questions and successfully document the development of this mayor-centric reform. Individuals with an interest in education equity, federalism, governance structures, historical institutionalism, public policy, race, urban politics, and the future of America's public schools would find this book to be quite insightful. "Mayors in the Middle" is eloquently written, timely, and intellectually engaging. Highly recommended!

Not only does this book advise one to teach children fundamental skills it tells one HOW to teach. It's not an overnight accompolishment, but it is the next best thing. This book gives clear, precise activities to do with you child on a normal persons schedule. I have found it relieves the guilt associated with not spending enough quality time with your children. It tells you what to do with them. It's so simple. I wonder why I didn't think of it.

James Ray is our hero here at Pug Headquarters. His Science of Success was good and his Million Dollar Mindset is equally as good.

These are common sense rules of conduct which can be easily applied for certain success.

Brian Tracey suggests we invest 3% of our gross income in learning tools. He also recommends to use wisely the time spent in our automobiles by listening to educational improvement material. James Ray's Million Dollar Mindset satisfies both those things.

"The Million Dollar Mindset" is an incredible learning system from a true thought-leader in the field of wealth creation and personal development! As a celebrated wealth expert, James shares the proven methods that are guaranteed to turn a mindset of lack, limitation, and scarcity to one of prosperity, increase, and abundance. For these reasons alone, it's easy to see why Oprah invited him on her show, twice!

One of my favorite parts of "The Million Dollar Mindset" is contained within the 5th CD, which delves deeply into the psychological factors of influence. James uses the acronym C-R-A-L-S-S, which stands for consistency, reciprocity, authority, liking, social proof, and scarcity. Mastery of these factors combined with James' insight, is absolutely priceless and has sky-rocketed my income in the last few months! I've learned how to effectively leverage my time, efforts, and energy through other people.

I highly recommend this program to those that are serious about acquiring massive wealth. Since I've been so inspired by this course, I've been giving it as a special gift to friends, family, and fellow entrepreneurs. Reflecting on my phenomenal results from using James' system, the information included is worth thousands of dollars and James Ray International should charge what it's really worth!
