Takes up where "Practical Intuition" leaves off!

I had never read a book about intuition until I read Laura Day's book, "Practical Intuition", which opened the door to this wonderful world of inner wisdom for me. Henry Reed's "The Intuitive Heart" flung the door open wider. His method of doing intuitive readings, which asks you to imagine all of the memories you've ever had in your life being mixed around in your head like numbers inside a lottery machine, and stopping to recall just the right memory to use as metaphor in answer to a question being asked by either yourself or someone else, is simply amazing. I'm really astonished at how easy it is and how a propos the readings are. I enthusiastically recommend this book!

A Scientist speaks

Review Date: 2006-06-27
Evelyn Reed was a scientist, not simply a political activist or a leader of the Socialist Workers Party. She learned the methodology of modern anthropology and studied the world literature and research on women and men, and refused to release any of the basic ideas that went into her monumental __Women's Evolution__ until she had vetted the book for its accuracy and for supporting information.

She was appalled by the creeping pseudoscience that opponents of women's liberation threw up against the fight for women's freedom and equality, the claims that women's biology was responsible for problems that were the result of a woman's body, a woman's mind, and thus created women's destiny.

This pamphlet is not just a political explanation, but presents scientific refutation of these views.

While this pamphlet may not be available on Amazon from time to time, it is always available from booksfrompathfinder, a vendor you can reach by clicking on new and used books toward the top of this page.

This book has so much in it for those individuals who are going through adverse or unpleasant situations. The author has succeeded in placing the reader into the story through many life-like(because the situations are real!)situations. I recommend this book without reservation to all women, and those men who aren't intimidated by reading a book written by a woman. All women, despite your belief, can be benefited by reading this book.

Jade Head is a combination adventure thriller, travel log that delights equally on both scores. Bob Wayne is a washed up loser who is still somewhat anxious to achieve something with his life. He abandons financial and personal problems at home by escaping to Belize. The jungles and beaches of the Caribbean paradise provide a spectacular backdrop for a series of nail-biting escapades. Grady's characters are complex and believable, his plot is engaging and his descriptions completely mesmerizing. He skillfully weaves Belize's rich history into the plot's twists and turns. Jade Head is a great tale and well worth a read.

Not a "Hollywod" ending

"What would you do....?"

Debora Davis has taken on a very challenging topic and presentation with this book. Five people are offered a day without consequences. Each of these people represent a literary archtype and make choices that many of the readers would make under the same circumstances...but as always there is a catch. And when the devil comes to collect his due, she does not shy from the results. There is no "hollywood" style ending here where everyone ends up happily every after. And kudos to here for having the guts to follow it through to the logical conclusion, even when she could have made herself a loophole. Anything else and I would have left feeling cheated.

Debora has taken on quite a challenge. A multiple-viewpoint, intertwined story that many established writers would shy away from. She has met the challenge quite admirably.

Great Author

I probably own every book by Mr. Reed. The reason is his reliability. He is thorough like no one else. Once again he documents this cult in great detail. He goes through the presidents of the Watchtower and listed the publications as they appear in order. While giving brief reviews from each publication that is noteworthy. He also sometimes slips in which doctrines have been changed from previous publications. This is a must for every serious student of the Watchtower.

A Must Have Dictionary
Helpful Votes: 6 out of 8 total.
Review Date: 2001-01-17
This book is a dictionary of terms used in a unique way by the Watchtower Society (Wt) and thus by Jehovah's Witnesses. It is a must reference for anyone who wants to understand or research the Wt. To understand the Jehovah's Witnesses you must understand their unique use of terms which Reed claims is done for several reasons, including to help the Wt achieve mind control in the Orwellian tradition. Reed also explains how and why a mind control language (called argot in psychology) is necessary. An example of a term defined is the term "theocratic war strategy" meaning "hiding the truth from persons not entitled to it, or deceiving outsiders (done in order) to advance the (Watchtower) organization's interests. Falsehoods presented to 'Gods enemies' are not considered lies, due to the state of war existing between God's forces (the JWs) and Satan's (the rest of the world)." This dictionary is also a must for JW's. To be considered mature, Witnesses must keep up with the changing argot. An example is fully 28 percent of Witnesses and former Witnesses in one survey did not know what theocratic war strategy was (although most correctly defined it). The newer Witnesses were most likely not to know the term. Memorizing this book can enable Witnesses to achieve up to date knowledge of all major terms.

Definitive reference on the Hamilton JET unit and Boats
Helpful Votes: 2 out of 2 total.
Review Date: 1998-12-10
WHO INVENTED THE MARINE JET? Controversy has raged for years over this question.A New Zealand sheep farmer, Bill Hamilton, has been said to be its inventor, but he himself never made such a claim. He said "I do not claim to have invented marine jet propulsion." was his response to a critic in 1962. The honour probably belongs to a gentleman named Archimedes. This book outlines the development from the 1950's thru to the 1200HP racing boats used today in the sport of JETSPRINT.

A must have.

A grimly enjoyable tour through the dark side of campus life
Helpful Votes: 1 out of 2 total.
Review Date: 2004-04-04
Set on a seemingly ordinary university campus, John's Diary is a whirlwind fast-paced novel by James Hogan about Jason Hammerlick, an ordinary and somewhat naive high school student who is thrown into a mix of murder and intrigue during his first year of college. One by one, Jason's fellow students disappear and die. These unsettling events are followed by the one person who may have written down the key to the mystery in his diary. A grimly enjoyable tour through the dark side of campus life and death, John's Diary is especially recommended to fans of the Mystery/Suspense genre.
