Heather Karmay (Stoddard)'s work, Early Sino-Tibetan Art, is a ground breaking analysis of the artistic relationship the flourished between the Tibetans and the Chinese. Although it has been the model for portions of several successor studies, it will remain a standard reference for the foreseeable future.

As the author wrote in the introduction, it is not "dummy"book, but rather a step by step workbook for someone who needs help to understand English sentence analysis. Very unique approach to emphasize "Preposition as a key to simplify the sentence analysis". A lot of drills to follow, so depending on your student's ability, you need to reduce the amount of drills, otherwise, it can be boring. I bought the Student workbook together with this book for my homeschooling. Easy instruction for my child to follow by herself. The assessment test in the beginning is very complete to see where your student stands.

I purchased this book for homeschooling my 6th grader. I love the unique approach to focus on the prepositional phrase in the sentence. My child enjoys working on it. A lot of drill works, but by the time when students finish this book, they will have a very solid understanding on English grammar.

Must buy the "teacher's guidebook" with this workbook. It gives the instructional guide and the answer keys.

As a homeschooling granny, I have tried many sources (Our Mother Tongue, Complete Book of Grammar & Punctuation, First Language Lessons for the Well Trained Mind and Painless Grammar) to name only a few. This book is tops, though it starts with prepositions as a teacher or student you can decide where to begin.

This book breaks down the 8 parts of speech to their simplest parts for example under the nouns section, it shows you that nouns in a prepositional phrase can not be the subject. By crossing out the prepositional phrase you can narrow down what the subject of every sentence is. It teaches how to make a singular noun plural. When to add s or es. It gives you several days practice before moving on to new concepts and then provides ample review throughout the book.

I originally bought this book to help my 9 & 10 year olds who were struggling with Langauge Arts now even my 6 year old tries to get in on the lessons. I'm buying her Daily Grams Review 2 & 3 so that she can feel like she is learning the same material. I highly recommend this book to anyone serious about learning or teaching Language Arts.

My Rogers City High School students were able to completely understand the parts of a PC because of Laplante's book. They even dismantled and rebuilt some old machines by the end of the semester! Needs a 3rd edition!

We first found the "Horrible Histories" series while traveling in Scotland - they are great books! Both of my boys love reading them...they are the right amount of history with pictures and drawings for interest.

This book is a must for future teachers! I found it to be an easy read. It is full of information needed to understand the disabilities that children in your classroom may have. Current procedures in assessment and evaluation of children as well as laws regarding disablities and education can be found here.

During my research on the Christian sites of the Holy Land, the name "Egeria" surfaced. I located this book on Amazon and when it arrived, I found it to have a wealth of information. This pilgrim kept a detailed diary which she sent to her "Sisters." She is very specific about the sites and liturgies of the Holy Land. Any one looking to learn more about the spiritual devotion in the Holy Land will enjoy this book. Since her diaries were lost, this partial account is all that exists and it is fascinating to read. Further research links her to St. Sylvia.
