Phillips Books

This book was written by Michael Reagan, son of former President Ronald Reagan, and radio talk show host. Bob Phillips is a humorist and author. The book has over 2000 quotes covering hundreds of topics by Americans and about Americans. It also has lots of bible quotes and quotes by other non-Americans such as Alexander Pope and Cervantes for example. Quotes: Where do you go to get anorexia? ~Shelley Winters. I used this book to teach the letter x to my preschool class. It is an excellent teaching tool because it uses x in many different ways and is also entertaining to children.

These are brand new but have been sitting in boxes in New Mexico for the past 10 years. So it's a great chance to pick it up for a song. Well, less than the other offers here, for sure.

We bought this book at a Dinosaur Museum. It is entertaining and the bones when the tab is pulled turns into the dinosaur magically. Great book and buy.

This is the guide book to get if you are thinking of doing a river trip in Maine. The information in it has been thoroughly checked and is very accurate. It tells you if you need permits for campsites and even tells you the quality for those sites. It has excellent detailed descriptions of all significant rapids and even suggests the best route to take. It has every conceivable trip from a half-day to a week or more. As a professional in the field, this is a book that I rely when planning any canoe expeditions in the state.

I think that American Impressionism has been overlooked in the U.S., a shame, because we are missing a lot when we only think of the French in this context.
The American Impressionism calendar presents a very nice assortment of paintings by men and women who were influenced by the European Impressionists but retained an American perspective in their own work. The paintings are well chosen, the reproductions are excellent, and are presented in a handsome format.
I recommend the American Impressionist calendar to anyone who enjoys painting of this era.

The book is filled with works not in other books on the subject (or at least books I'm familiar with). I especially love the details of the pictures. They beautifully depict the brushwork and texture of the works. The book contains a really nice selection of paintings. It also includes biographical information about the artists without too much digging into the meaning of their work. Beautiful book! Amazon sent an email about this book, and I checked it out. Glad I did! I like an art book with more art (after all that's what it's about)...

American Indian Law, Cases and Commentary (American Casebook Series)
This is the first completeley new book in the federal Indian law arena in years. It is well-organized and unlike the other books in the field, it takes into account the dramatic changes in U.S. Supreme Court jurisprudence regarding tribal jurisdiction over the last 20 years. The notes and comments are critical of the Court, but the authors are careful to present both sides of the issues to encourage critical thinking. While designed for basic and advanced law school courses, it could also be used by undergraduates and is a nice resource to have on the shelf as a reference.

I am an Indian law practitioner with over 20 year of experience and I teach Indian law from time-to-time. It is nice to see new and old cases presented to be able to see what the authors (who are all leading scholars in the field) think about the state of the law.
