Book arrived like new, good packaging, took longer than other vendors, but still within promised date.

I am a 5th grade teacher who walked in to a system with very little emphasis on grammar. I received the book from a friend who was homeschooling her children. I found the book very easy to understand, both for me and for my students. It is a wonderful supplement to what our district has chosen for language arts. The students are understanding grammar very well for the first time, and are able to identify nearly every part of speech with confidence by the time they finish 5th grade. This book could also be title "Grammar for Dummies" because everything is that clear. Anyone teaching 4th - 12th could use these exercises to supplement the language arts program already in place in his or her district.

This is a huge workbook! It has a lot of review. After initially covering a part of grammar: preposition, noun, pronoun, adjective, adverb, conjunction, interjection, the student is then given a lot of practice.

At the beginning of the book Wands Phillips states that the "student must learn the 50 prepositions... memorized" I absolutely agree. No more guess work with what word is a preposition. There are 53 in this workbook but if you take them one letter at a time they will not be hard to learn, " about, above, across after, against, along, amid, among, around, at, atop." When those are learned you move on to the B's.

Phillips reasoning is that if you can identify prepositions and eliminate all prepositional phrases in a sentence, you will be able to identify subject, verb, direct object etc. a lot easier because you, for example, won't be confusing a beginning prepositional phrase with being the subject of the sentence.

Mastery is the key to grammar and this book helps you get there.

We use this for my homeschooled 7th grader's grammar course. Similar to prior easy grammar books but slightly more advanced.

This book had great information on Elizbeth I. Instead of just wordy texts, the author has had cartoons added as well to put the cherry on the cake. I recommend this book to people interested in history. I also encourage you to read Mary, Queen of Scots and her Hopeless Husbands in addition to this.

Our higher mind and, in many cases, completely ignores the development of the older, the more primeval, earlier mind; which by definition has with humanity for much longer. I believe people are waking up to the fact that we all communicate with each other on an emotional level. Forget about the facades that our conscious adult minds develop to disguise this fact. This book has given me techniques to develop my more emotional self and I am grateful for that.

This book took me on a journey that I will never forget. I traveled to my innermost core with ease and gained a sense of wonder as I discovered the depths and heights of my mind and my emotions. It is clearly and compassionatly written, the exercises are easy to follow and the anecdotes and stories are a delight. The author uses a subliminal readiding language she calls MLR to help you gain the most from each chapter. I found myself changing simply by reading. WOW. This really is the only self help book you will ever read.

This is an easy to read, highly inspirational memoir. The old adage, "I cried because I had no shoes, until I saw a man who had no feet", comes to life in this true story. This is a must read for anyone who has ever felt that all hope is lost.

This is the inspiring story of an African-American plantation worker, seriously disabled in youth, who nevertheless - challenged by his very handicap - rises to a distinguished career in government and the church. What makes this book particularly remarkable is the splendid style in which it is written.

Excellent book on the subject. I have learned a lot. All his material is good and this must be the best!

This momumental work explores the earliest New Testament writings (pre AD 300). The goals of the book are:

. to give an annotated list of all significant Greek manuscripts

. to assign dates for the earliest manuscripts

. to examine the nomina sacra (standardized abbreviations) used in the early manuscripts

. to present the history of textual variation in the early centuries of the church

. to explore various methods of recovering the original wording of the Greek.

All of this is within the main goal of helping students interact with the New testament test by knowing the original wording.

This book gives a rare insight into the work of the scholars putting the Bible together from very fragmentary documents. All in all, it is amazing that so much material exists from almost two thousand years ago.

Great pictures with concise captions. Terrific for both learning and reviewing.

This book is the abridged form of the larger Skin Pathology book written by McKee. It has excellent ,sharp colour photographs including many close up pictures of the rare entities of dermatopathology. There are short notes below each photo to give succinct point of the disease entity . It is an essential book for any trainee pathologists who is aspiring to be a dermatopathologist and also serve as a useful reference book for the busy pathologists who just want pictures to compare with their routine diagnostic work. Overall, this book is good value for money and I would definitely recommend for trainees' pathologists.

I was a little hesitant ordering a used book but the results were positive. It was a clean copy and arrived well within the projected time. A very good experience!

This book helped me get through starting my CDA classes and it still helps me today with everyday questions that I have. I would highly suggest adding this book to your curriculum.

Yet again the folks at Amazon have bungled matters. The other "review" of this book is in fact a review of (or a puff for) the Penn series of translations of Greek tragedy, not of Euripides' "Selected Fragmentary Plays," a scholarly edition offering Greek texts, English translations, and detailed notes on several of Euripides' fragmentary plays. It should also noted that the book in question is the recently published---and long-awaited---second volume of a work whose first volume appeared in 1995. Eventually, there will be a Loeb Classical Library edition of the major fragments of Euripides, but it is unlikely to replace these volumes of Collard et al., for their very full notes will remain invaluable.

I went to Columbia, with the most prominent 'great books' curriculum still in existence. 25 years later, I'm finding myself re-reading and discussing many of the titles. The Penn Greek Drama series is a handsome library of new translations that give fresh takes on the classics. It's useful to have Euripides on the shelf when you return home from the recent bravura performance by Fiona Shaw as Medea--it settled an argument too on how it 'originally' ended.
