I was so pleasantly surprised by this gentle story. It is a unique gift for a young mother. Reading it to a child on your lap, it is as much a gift for the mother as it is for the young reader."The Teaching Well" seems to be written as an inspirational place where a mother can recharge to feel the affection she needs to go on caring freshly for her little ones. I like to give it as a gift for first-time mothers.

This is a book that sets out to challenge the reader - don't got in unless you are willing to go to the end, and many have failed along the way. However this book is wonderful, atmospheric, saturated in detail and a mythology that is all its own. An incredibly clever piece of work, but one that teters on the brink of being too clever for its own good (if you can work out the final puzzle without spending ages on it, you're a genius.

A Great Volume for Textile Baseball Buffs

Tom Perry is to be commended for performing so well with an arduous task. His book provides much information about teams and players in the South Carolina Upstate during the days of Textile League baseball. Without the research Tom has done, this generation and those to come would know less and less about this era of mill baseball that produced so many great teams and players in addition to making the monotony of mill life much more palatable to the workers. In addition to his text, his listing of yearly teams along with their records and rosters make this volume extremely helpful as a reference book. What Tom undertook was no easy task. But baseball fans owe a thank you to this author whose work will continue to be valuable source for generations to come.

Thank god its back . . .

This is one of those books that falls out of print and causes mass panic in graduate student communities as we find ourselves hunting for copies with on-line rare book search engines with no hope for success. Can't find it used when no one will let go of it. Saints be praised, its back. Kaplan's essays 'demonstratives' and 'afterthoughts' are classics and need to be studied by anyone interested in the golden triangle of philosophy (phil. language, mind, and epistemology). Kit Fine's essay on de re modality is excellent, and with articles by Peacocke, Wettstein, Almog, and a host of other friends of Kaplan, no entry will fail to repay serious attention. Do not miss the opportunity to purchase this book.

"Perry's chronicle of the West Virginia hills is more than a dramatic, moving and often entertaining unfolding of events. It is a valuable record of the remarkable efforts to help the poor set up and run programs of their own in the early days of the Office of Economic Opportunity activity in Appalachia. "

A lovely story, gentle without being dull, that is beautifully supported by its illustrations. Good for reading aloud or "I can read now!" moments.

This is an insightful early work on the life of James by a serious scholar of Pragmatism. James did not come simply to the academic area of study and the philosophical teaching he eventually developed. And this work describes the crises he went through on the way to finding his true vocation.

Who is the Last Thrall of Hypno?
Helpful Votes: 1 out of 1 total.
Review Date: 2005-02-20
Book 20 of this Space Opera is the finale of a trilogy of adventures with an Evil Mutant Master.

Monterny, the master of long distance hypnotism, makes a stand on Mars with the aid of his last mind controlled Mutant. This monster of a man, by the name of Ivan Ivanovich Goratschin, has two heads - and the power to make anything with either calcium or carbon in it to detonate explosively. Rhodan's Mutant Corps eventually makes Ivan one of their own, and Monterny, the evil hypnotist, escapes to the asteroid belt. I won't ruin the end of this trilogy except by saying that Monterny is defeated.

A new series of stories begins with number 22 - "The Cosmic Decoy".

I've never been this impressed by a series. I'm reminded of old cliffhanger serials like "Buck Rodgers" or "Flash Gordon" when reading these marvelous books. This series is still being published in Germany and is now well over 2,000 volumes. It's too bad American publishers stopped after only about 120 books. I had to learn to speak, read, and write German in order to continue reading Perry Rhodan.

This book contains another editorial, another science fiction movie section, and another letters column. There are also extra stories - one continuing adventure, similar to a serial, and some "Shock Shorts" - continuing a series of SF short stories at the end of each book. Although these stories have nothing to do with Perry Rhodan, they are worth looking at. It's well worth reading the entire Rhodan series.

Tiger Woods is the greatest golfer in the world, (in my opinion anyway, I really don't care what other people think). I am the biggest beyond biggest fan of Tiger woods (just ask anyone, they all know!) Tiger Woods is more than a world class champion, he is the best, and I would give anything to meet him! I know you all probably hear this all of the time, but I am serious, he is my hero, I love him! Yeah, GO TIGER, YOUR THE MAN! Good luck, and love ya, Nikki

This is a great book. It is a part of a trilogy that depicts the time and life of the Texas Panhandle. The fiction and real events go side by side and are great. For anyone who wishes to know about the Palo Duro & Cap Rock Canyon area these books are it.
