It's the best runners' guide I've ever seen. You won't believe the detailed maps, including a multi-panel foldout of the Wildwood Trail that winds through Portland's Forest Park. There is superb photograpy by Ancil Nance, one of the Nortwest's premier lensmen.

I personally have tried many of these runs, including jaunts in Forest Park. The Oaks Park loop was one of my favorites. There are runs downtown (River Run) and in outlying areas (Troutdale Trot). There are easy runs (Laurelhurst Park), and real stranglers (Sauvie Island Loop).

Portland is a great town for running (or just about anything). This book is a must for anyone who loves going for a jog in one of America's most attractive cities.

Clear and easy to follow, has individual words as well as military phrases made up by those words, regular dictionary format, used in conjunction with a regular dictionary (many non-military terms are not in this book), it is a relatively complete translation tool.

My wife picked this book up for me last week and I have not been able to put it down. If you are a golf fan, this book will get your heart pumping. The book covers classic matches and describes this brutal golf course in detail. The pictures alone make this an easy purchase. This book should be a prerequisite for anyone attending or even watching the upcoming Ryder Cup.

This is a book for those people who need to move beyond the "Chicken Soup" stories. If you understand that America is a place where people really live in all types of environments, then this book will speak to you. Be careful, like life there is no ending here, only experience.

Pros: While this manual is not as complete and technical as the phone-book size Missing Manual (Pogue), it is very detailed. It is written in language anyone can understand with many clear screenshot llustrations. I think it would be an excellent book for someone who is very new to Apple OS X. I have been using Macs for more than ten years. I bought this after using OS X (and now Jaguar) for over a year and I learned how to take care of some annoying things and also how to use many things I didn't know I had. It is laid out as 24 chapters (thus the 24 hour title) clearly named in the Table of Contents so you can easily find what you are looking for. The chapters end with a summary and a helpful Q & A section that often covers troubleshooting questions. These are followed by Workhop (practice), Quiz questions and Activities. Almost every option from the file menus of every program is defined in simple English as you learn about the program.
Cons: Some of the programs have been updated either with Jaguar or with downloads and these latest features or options aren't covered. As I said before it is not as technical as others, i.e. you will not find sections on Bluetooth.

This book provides the most accurate and interesting history of the original television studio that brought the industry to life and for nearly four and a half decades brought us our favorite classic sitcoms. They defined the television industry as being the first Hollywood studio-owned company to produce television programs. It may be outdated, but it is an excellent look at this ancient television studio!
