Perry Books

I purchased this book a couple of years ago. The author did a great job of wetting the appetite of an admirer of Madame Walker. The pictures were great and I look forward to passing it down to my children. The only downside to the book was that it didn't give any info as to what happened to the business after Madame Walker passed on and what happened to the grand daughter of Madame Walker. Madame Walker is an inspiration to me and was a remarkable woman.

This was a great book for anyone wanting to breathe some life and flare into the task of reporting often dry, routine city government meetings. Hard news doesn't have to be clipped and stale. This book shows you how to keep hard news hard, but with some interest, creativity.

The best so far. "Must read" for nurses working in Spinal COrd Injury areas - acute or rehab. "Must have" book for orthopaedic/spinal units. Can't wait for a newer edition.

This book was used at the beginning of a school year. I decided to use it with my students. Its prayers are short, topic-related, and easy to understand. It was an excellent purchase.

The essays range all over the place--materialism is a BIG topic--but they are all strong.

I am really impressed with this text and I found out that one of the author's is local. The chapters are fairly short and concise---great info. Very helpful and I am sure will come in handy for years to come.

This books does more than just tell you about the gentleman lawyer, Matthew J. Perry, it sets the scene for him before, during and now in South Carolina. The book puts in perspective what Perry had to deal with as he fought for the rights of South Carolina's African American citizens. He is an unflappable, decisive, thorough, warm, honest human being and a civil rights attorney par excellence. It is well written, with various contributors talking about him based on their experiences. It is well documented, so that it may also be used as a reference tool. It is timely and very readable. I recommend it highly.

For travelers who want to explore a rich but little exploited aspect of Yucatan's cultural heritage, this is your book. It provides a comprehensive list of churches and monasteries throughout the Yucatan Peninsula. It gives descriptions of the buildings and historical data where available. Excellent for students of Colonial Art and History.

This is one of two books that I recommend for people praying for others whi need healing or for a person standing on faith for their healing. It empowers believers to understand what has already been purcased for us through the cross. There is only one other book I have read that so profoundly increased my faith by reading it and practicing what it contains.

Book 18 of this Space Opera is the beginning of a trilogy of adventures with an Evil Mutant Master.

Monterny is a mutant capable of mind control - a type of hypnotism that can even control the minds of Perry's elite Mutant Corps. Monterny's unique power to read and control the thoughts of others extends far enough so that he may control the actions of his evil mutant corps while safely hidden in his lair in Salt Lake City, Utah - and his operatives are in the Gobi Desert! Monterny begins to try to take over as world dictator by bringing down Rhodan's General Cosmic Company, and due to a small glitch he fails. But Monterny keeps trying.

The 2nd part of the trilogy continues with number 20 - "Mutants Vs Mutants".

I've never been this impressed by a series. I'm reminded of old cliffhangers like "Buck Rodgers" or "Flash Gordon" when reading these marvelous books. This series is still being published in Germany and is now well over 2,000 volumes. It's too bad American publishers stopped these after only about 120 books. I had to learn to speak, read, and write German in order to continue reading Perry Rhodan.

This book also contains another editorial, another science fiction movie section, and another fan letters page. And there are extra stories - one continuing adventure, similar to a serial, and some "Shock Shorts" - continuing a series of SF short stories at the end of each book. Although these stories have nothing to do with Perry Rhodan, they are worth looking at. It's well worth reading the entire Rhodan series.
