Perry Books

If you collect metalware and one buy one book, let this be it - although I also wholeheartedly recommend Mary Gaston's "Antique Brass & Copper Identification and Value Guide". They are both excellent in their own ways.

Perry's book is very strong on the quality of its graphics and is just as strong on its explantions and anecdotal background material. The photos are a combination of both color and b/w. If you are considering a reference book for the field, look no further and wait no longer - this is it. But as I said earlier also get Gaston's book which has all photos in color and many more of them, but leaves one wanting in explanations as to when the articles were made. You really need both books if you're serious about collecting. The price of a refence book in any field of collecting will seem cheap if it saves you from buying even one fraud, let alone the added knowledge it will give you.

Great book! Perry provides a unique insight into a job we all often ignore. Perfect book for those students interested in the Sociology of work. The book also includes a historical view of the development of the San Francisco area in the 60's and 70's.

Architectural Design is a magazine in book form that consistently pusheds the state of the art in design, nominally in architectural, but in reality all kinds of design. In this issue the general subject is taking advantage of the communications capability of the internet for collective or collaborative design efforts. A lot of the discussion is not specific to architecture, but is on the general developments in social, economic and political organization in the form of peer-to-peer networks and communities.

The articles here typically represent the absolute state of the art as it exists today. As such, they serve only as an inkling of what might be there in the future. Examples: Working with Wiki - Wiki from the Hawaiian word for quick - are on line platforms where anyone can make entries without supervision. The Grid - a worldwide collection of computers of (generally) extremely high performance that allow huge problems to be approached. At this time the Grid is quite small, only a handful of supercomputer centers, but it promises to change many of the ways we have approached computing.

This is a very fun book! All kids living in CO or traveling through should get this book!

This book is a well written, well organized and up-to-date resource. The authors expertise in working with individuals with Parkinson's disease is evident as they cover such topics as approach to clinical care, motor and nonmotor symptoms, caregiving, surgical options, palliative care, rehabilitation, and complementary and alternative medicine. Every health care professional that cares for this population of patients or knows someone with Parkinson's disese should read this comprehensive book and have it on their shelf as it is an EXCELLENT and one-of-kind resource.

Both this book and its first edition are very readable works on the subject of 'computer ethics'. Many college courses on the subject use this, but you need not be taking a course to want to read it. Too many people in the computer field are ignorant of this topic, which is not good.

This book offers insights into the structure and function of various skn and hair conditioning agents. It is of interest to the formulator of cosmetic products, or to sophisticated consumers wanting a better understanding about products they buy. This book should also be of interest to textile formulators, since many of the same products can be transferred over into the textile market. Good addition to technical library.
