Perry Books

Karen Arnold's book of poems, *Border Crossings*, is a real pleasure. It delights me to be able to say so, because I am taking a creative writing course under her tutelage; I am happy to find, reading her poems, that her gift for language is as rich as her gift for instruction. Phrases here strike my inner ear as wonderful, insightful, memorable, e.g., when she writes in "Namesakes" that she consults the ancestors, wondering "What/ they can tell me/ about navigation of curves." I think Ms. Arnold has much to teach about navigation of curves, and I am fortunate to be poised to learn from her. Anyone who reads these poems may likewise learn.

David Perry's photos are very moving. Strong imagery caputured gently. Great text, great concept. Well done. I loved the last book these guys did as well so I am not suprised.

Um, this book is compiled by Miles, designed by Perry Neville, Omnibus Publications. You'll get a big kick out of it! Black and white photos on every page. Reads up to about 1977 and gives you a look at a quirky, idiosyncratic mind who's exploring all the perimeters of himself. Does he actually like speaking in public? I don't think so. Did he need the attention? It was often a cry for help. But how enjoyable! Because Bowie has taken advantage of these situations all his life, we bascially get to study his words in the eyes of the public from the age of 15, and on. He's definitely said some things he's probably kicked himself for, later. Unlike Madonna, who has relentlessly flapped her lip trying to copy his mystique, Bowie always offers food for thought and lasting inspiration.

A people must be understood in light of their history and Mr. Perry educates us and helps us understand the Black evangelical church in full light of their African AND African American experience. I've never put together the African American's African "roots" and how elements and roles have been carried over into practice in their history and the practice of their faith in the Americas to this present day. Books like Mr. Perry's are slowly but SURELY eroding my racial ignorance (that I never knew I had) as a white male in a multiracial society. For a relatively short book, a lot of ground is covered and covered well. I felt I was left a bit more enlightened and less prone to misunderstand my African American brothers and sisters. The first step in curing racism is admitting we posses it in varying degress and then seek a cure. Dwight Perry's "Breaking Down Barriers" is a recommended step to cure the disease of racism, especially for us "good white Christian folk"

This is a book that provides fresh new insights into the prophecies by examining the 7 major Hebrew feasts as well as two other feasts and a host of other subjects. While it doesn't really take any one point of view regarding endtime events (post trib, mid trib, etc,) it does bring to light more prophecies that, in my opinion, would indicate a pre-trib rapture above and beyond the standard 'not appointed to wrath' or 'saved out of tribulation' views. If you are familiar with Perry Stone, then you know you are in for a lot of wow-I-never-saw-that-before moments. He provides many scriptural references for his views as well as delving into the root meaning of words to get a clearer picture of what is meant. Seeing the harmony and symbolism between the old and new testament prophecies strengthened my faith knowing that only God could do that. I really liked the book and recommend it to all. Maranatha

I would love to own this book - I've borrowed it from the library to learn about the town my great grandparents, grand parents and father lived in for more than 3/4 of a century. I haven't seen another book like this about Bremerton and the Ship Yard so I hope to find one for purchase.

This second compilation of Brevity proves it isn't just a flash in the pan success. The comic stands out from the crowd with its screwy perspective on life and humor.

The great thing is that it isn't predictable. Guy & Rodd continue to crank out some truly original humor that will make milk come out of your nose!

The other two books are almost a copycat but this one is entirely different. The other two are love stories, this is a "thrilling" love story. It has some loose ends but nonetheless is a very good reading and you can read this book without reading the other two. But you can't read the second book "A Christmas to Die For" with out reading the first one "Hide in Plain Sight".

Someone wants something he had, and suddely Caroline's life is in danger. Desperate, she flees back home to the one place she feels safe, The Three Sister's Inn, and her grandmother and sisters. But is home the safe haven she expected?
Zachary Burkholter, police chief of Churchville, Pennsylvania, stops Caroline for speeding the minute she hits town. From the way she behaves, he suspects she's hiding something. He plans to keep an eye on her, and not just because of his suspicion. Caroline is one attractive lady.
Marta Perry's Three Sister's Inn series is extremely delightful. I have enjoyed each book, but in my opinion this is her best. Readers who want their romance spiked with a dash of suspense will love this series. If you haven't discovered Marta Perry's stories, give them a try. You'll be glad you did.

I am a cousin of Mr. Goodfriend and I have known him all my life. Many of the people in the pictures in this book are relatives of mine. Thus, my opinion may appear biased. However, I read a lot and feel that I am capable of recognizing a well-written piece of art. This book is stunning in its honesty and compelling in its depiction of Mr. Goodfriend's inner struggles. His brilliance shines through every page of this book.

The easiest book to read and understand of any programming language I have read.
